Ivette is amazing! Out of all the doulas we worked with during our baby’s first few weeks of life, she was our favorite!

She came in with this calm presence that I absolutely needed while I was struggling with all my postpartum complications. She was the first postpartum doula who made me, as a mother, feel truly seen and heard as she could identify with a lot of what I was going through, being a mother herself. Which is kind of wild because postpartum doulas are supposed to support both baby and mom but so many of the ones we worked with were mostly more familiar and comfortable dealing with baby.

While other doulas felt too extreme on either side of the spectrum- too authoritarian (quoting textbook stats over and over as if I didn't know my baby wasn't textbook status) or more nanny-like in that they needed to be told exactly what to do, Ivette was able to strike the perfect balance of suggestions based on her knowledge and experience and also accepting what you need as a family to give a personalized caretaking experience.

Ivette knew how to approach complicated postpartum situations with such grace and consideration. She made me feel at ease and didn’t pry, letting me open up to what I was comfortable with. She was incredibly empathetic and was a wonderful help as I was working on healing postpartum.

With regards to her care with our baby- we absolutely cannot say enough good things. My husband and I laughed at how we would swing baby from position to position whereas Ivette was the opposite and was just so, so gentle. Not just that, we loved that she talked to baby in such a caring way that reminds me of the Montessori method that I admire.

As new parents, you know that when your patience cup is depleted, you don’t always have the capacity to be fully present for your baby and I’m just so thankful we had Ivette to fill that gap while we rested! We cannot recommend her enough!

We worked with Ivette when she was our postpartum night doula for our newborn son and highly recommend her!

Aside from being punctual and incredibly reliable, Ivette was loving and patient with our son. It is very clear that she truly has a passion for working with newborns and genuinely cares for their wellbeing.

This genuine approach also extends to the whole family. As first time parents, she was happy to answer all our random questions and teach us about various topics we had questions about. For example, she taught us how to bathe our son and helped us all through his first bath, which he loved thanks to her tips and experience. She also showed us ways to help our son feel more comfortable during gassy episodes and we use these tips still!

She is a wonderful communicator. Her approach is gentle and she kindly offered suggestions on methods and products we may find helpful as we navigated parenthood for the first time. She was also thoughtful with the details such as preparing the next bottle or preparing a folded swaddle on her way out in the morning to make my life easier when I finished the next feeding session. She anticipated the needs I had without me even asking or even knowing what they would be; it was incredible.

Importantly, we got solid rest on the nights Ivette was there which made such a big difference for my postpartum recovery, our relationship, and set us up for success the following day.

We were so sad when our time with Ivette came to a close and would absolutely work with her again.

Don't know what I would have done without Ivette. She made the transition of coming home from the hospital with our baby girl so much easier. She is kind, thoughtful, and extremely helpful. Ivette took care of our entire family and knew what we needed. She took care of our baby girl as she would her own. She helped tidy up the house, fold laundry, wash dishes, and ensured I was nourished and hydrated at all times. I would highly recommend Ivette as a postpartum doula!
