As a first-time expectant mother, I was filled with apprehension about my childbirth journey. However, hiring Olivia as our doula turned out to be the best decision we made. From the outset, she provided invaluable guidance and support, helping us navigate the complexities of childbirth and instilling in us a sense of confidence.

Our birthing experience took an unexpected turn, as we found ourselves spending most of the time in triage rather than in a private room. Despite this less-than-ideal situation, I can confidently say that my overall experience was positive, largely due to Olivia's unwavering support. Despite the deviation from our birth plan, Olivia remained composed and fully equipped to adapt to the circumstances, ensuring my comfort and emotional well-being throughout.

Olivia was an invaluable resource and presence leading up to and during the birth. Her postpartum visit was also very helpful for settling us in to our new life. She is knowledgeable and excellent at delivering that knowledge in an understandable format. I felt very prepared for labour, delivery, and breastfeeding. Even while in the process of pushing out my child I was thinking "Ah! This is what Olivia was talking about", and breastfeeding didn't end up being daunting like it can be for many women. Her bedside manner is fantastic and she has many skills and tools to make the birth a better experience. I am so incredibly grateful that she attended the birth of my child, especially since it wasn't the experience I had hoped, and I would happily choose her again for the births of any future children. She definitely smoothed the edges of a rather rough time, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a doula in the area.

Olivia played a critical role in the natural birth of my child. Her teachings and support before the birth allowed me to feel confident going into first time birth. She worked with us to teach and answer all of our questions about birth, breastfeeding and newborn care. We worked together on a birth plan that was clear and concise, and easy for the hospital staff to follow. Her kind, calm and informed presence during the birth allowed me to get through 33 hours of labour unmedicated and without medical intervention. TENS machine for the win! She also was a huge support to my partner during the birth. A big thank you!

Where do I even begin to express my gratitude for Olivia? She's not just a doula; she's a blessing. She guided us through one of the most profound journeys of our lives with such care and compassion.

My husband and I are first-time parents and we found Olivia via her website and did our initial consult via zoom. We had interviewed other doulas but felt that we were missing that vital connection. From the very start, Olivia demonstrated an exemplary ability to make both my husband and I feel heard and reassured with all our questions and values. We confirmed and booked with her immediately after that initial call – that’s how certain we were of her!

Olivia is very detailed, patient, and knowledgeable in her doula practice. You can see this in the way she structured our meeting sessions; providing demos, recommending books, and of course, answering a multitude of random questions throughout. We addressed all the facets of birth and postpartum, including our values and desires for what we envisioned for her role during our birth journey.  Olivia made sure that we were comfortable and engaged throughout our meetings and really solidified our relationship before the big day.

Despite our detailed planning, Olivia’s skills and character really stood out during our exciting, precipitous birth! Our labour progressed much faster than anyone envisioned, and we had a dramatic home delivery. Olivia saved us, turning what could have been a very traumatic experience into a calm and well supported transition. She was a vital communique between us and emergency services and stayed with us well after the transfer to the hospital to make sure we were settled. Olivia advocated for my comfort and pain management, making certain that she put me first in every way possible. We also said yes to her taking photos during our birth, and now we have photos that we will treasure for years to come.  

We honestly could not recommend Olivia more; she will be your greatest asset going forward as new parents for your pregnancy and birth journey!

We cannot express enough the gratitude we have for the positive impact made by Olivia on our birth journey. Olivia is an excellent listener, deeply caring and extremely thoughtful and knowledgeable. We appreciated the meetings prior to birth and she was an absolute star when it came to the labour. My labour was not straight forward but I felt safe and cared for throughout it by having Olivia’s calming presence by my side. Cannot recommend this amazing woman enough!

Olivia was truely a blessing for my husband and I. She gave us the knowledge to make our important decisions for our birth plan. I felt empowered as a woman to birth my baby naturally during a home water birth with Olivia by my side. She was very intuitive in giving my husband and I the support we needed to make the birth of my baby easy and a joyful experience.

I highly recommend Oliva Zander as a very professional doula for any mom-to-be!

I recently had a newborn and Oliva was my doula. She is a great listener, communicator, and a big advocate for me at the hospital during the delivery!

From drafting a birth plan to finalizing and executing it, Olivia was there every step of the way. She worked with me as a teammate, and not only provided me with strong physical support when painful contractions come, she provided me with so much emotional and spiritual support from the beginning till postpartum. I especially appreciated her calming personality and soothing voice.

I will definitely hire Olivia again whenever we have our next baby!

I am infinitely grateful for the support Olivia gave me. As a new arrival in a new country, not knowing the language made everything very difficult for me with the people I met in the health system, both to be able to reach an agreement and provide solutions. Olivia made me see that finding a good person wanting to help is possible, even despite not knowing the same language. The work Olivia does as a Doula is magnificent, she has a vocation for this. Any pregnant person who finds Olivia, I know that they will have the best experience.

Where do I even start? Olivia is such an amazing doula and I’m so blessed to have had her support me through the end of my pregnancy and attend my birth.  I am a believer in everything natural and had a vision for my birth- I wanted a home birth in water, calm, intervention free and utilizing hypnobirthing techniques. Thanks to Olivia and my other doula, my birth was even more beautiful than I’d imagined it. She was gentle when she needed to be, she massaged me during my contractions, she repeated my affirmations back to me, she reminded me to drink water and so much more. She is very intuitive and can anticipate your needs before you even realize.  She did everything she could ensure my birth went as I’d envisioned. She even took beautiful photos of the labour and delivery that I will forever cherish.   Don’t hesitate to hire Olivia as your doula, you won’t regret it.
