I went into labor the night before my appointment. I told my husband, “I think it’s real this time,” but he didn’t believe me until the contractions hit hard. I spent hours in the tub, breathing through the pain until my doula, Esme, arrived and helped me move and breathe. She suspected the baby was sunny-side up because all my pain was in my back. By the time we got to the hospital, I was already 9.5 cm dilated.

I labored in the tub for hours, groaning through every wave. My water broke underwater, and for a second I felt relief—then it came back even stronger. I tried every position, every breath, but nothing eased baby's path. Eventually my blood pressure rose and my baby’s dropped. I wanted a natural birth more than anything, but I knew it was time.

They prepped me for a C-section. When they made the first incision, I felt everything. They stopped, gave more medication, and I still felt the second. That pain was unbearable. My husband was rushed out, and I was put under general anesthesia.

My daughter was born at 9:56 PM. I didn’t get to hold her until the next morning. At first, she felt like a stranger—but that love came slowly, deeply, and it’s never left. My birth didn’t go as planned, but it made me stronger. To every mama: no matter how your story unfolded, you did it.

Esmeralda was very organized, professional, available, and passionate from beginning to end! From the first prenatal visit to our labor prep class before my scheduled cesarean, she was knowledable, joyful, and so easy to work with. She would celebrate every milestone with me and answer all of my questions. She also really made sure that my husband was involved. HE loved that! She stressed the importance of his role and encouraged him to be a vessel to me during labor. Though my birth experience was not like most (scheduled cesarean) Esmeralda was still able to be present the day of my labor and got to be in the operating room. She even stayed with us post-op to make sure I was feeling ok. Esmeralda is great at advocating for you without getting in the way or over stepping. You can tell that every moment shared with you is intentional and full of love. I am so thankful for Esmeralda and cannot recommend her enough! We will definitely be utilizing her for any future pregnancies.

I am so grateful for Esmie during my birth experience. She was with me for my second birth and it made all the difference. The prenatal appointment we had together where she went through diffrent movements and stretchs that would help prepare me for borth was absolutley game changing. During my entire labor (contactions had lasted for days) she was available to texts/call and supportive through all my excessive questions. She did everything I asked for and more. She took tons of pictures and videos for me, she reminded me of breathing techniques and things I needed to stay relaxed. I am so blessed for the encouraging and calm environment that she helped create. She encouraged me to listen to my body and the cues I was feeling and adovocate for myself. She was very comforting and just all around amazing. If I ever have another baby I will definitly have esmie there!

I highly recommend Esmeralda De La Rosa as a birth doula!  I have the honor of knowing Esmeralda as a friend, separate from her role as my doula, but I would have chosen her as my doula regardless based off of my positive experience in working with her for my first birth.  Esmeralda was reliable, kind, and knowledeable.  She provided three scheduled prenatal appointments where we were able to learn about the birth process one-on-one with her.  This also included an in-home visit where she directly reviewed birth positions, as well as exercises we could do throughout pregnancy.  When early labor started and I suspected the baby's position was less than ideal, Esmeralda came over again and helped us to trial different exercises in hopes the baby would adjust her position.  The baby didn't, and therefore my labor was intense back labor from the start.  It was important to me to have an unmedicated vaginal birth and Esmeralda came over as soon as called and helped us to better manage the pain given the unexpected positioning.  I am confident Esmeralda's help is the reason why I was able to hold to my personal goal!  She remained with us at home during labor, told us when to leave for the hospital, and was at the hospital with us until the baby was born.  I also had an unexpected need for a vacuum-assisted birth, and in the moment of needing to decide between that or an episiotomy, I was able to trust in Esmeralda's judgement completely when my husband and I turned to her for advice.  Esmeralda also offered a postnatal appointment in which she was 100% available to help me in whatever way I needed after the baby's birth.  What helped me best was having Esmeralda rock my baby to sleep so I could have a decent meal and process my birth experience with her.  I will always recommend Esmeralda to pregnant moms, and plan to use her as my doula for my future births as well!

I truly don’t have enough words to express my gratitude for the incredible support Esmie provided throughout my pregnancy, labor, and birth. From the moment we first connected, she brought a calm, reassuring presence that made me feel seen, heard, and empowered.

Throughout my pregnancy, Esmie was always available to answer questions, offer resources, and checked on me both emotionally and physically. She made sure I felt prepared, informed, and confident heading into labor.

During labor and birth, she was nothing short of amazing. Esmie was my steady anchor, helping me stay grounded through each contraction, offering physical support, emotional encouragement, and gentle guidance. Her intuition and experience were so comforting. I always felt safe and heard, even in the most intense moments.

Thanks to Esmie, I look back on my birth experience with pride and peace. I truly believe having her by my side made all the difference. I can’t recommend her enough to anyone looking for a compassionate, knowledgeable, and deeply supportive doula. She is a gift! I couldn't have chosen a better doula for my first birth and will absolutely hire her again if we choose to have a second!

Esme was a wonderfully calm presence at the birth of my son. She shared personal stories just the right amount to make me feel seen and heard. I chose to get an epidural, and she helped me get into positions that were conducive to bringing my son down. When I was having some cramping and pain, she gave me a firm and effective massage that helped relieve the pain. My mom kept saying she wished she'd had a doula like Esme when she gave birth.

I am beyond grateful for the support and guidance Esmeralda provided during my birth experience. From the moment we met, it was clear that she was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and compassionate. She took the time to educate both my husband and me, making sure we felt informed and empowered every step of the way. Her presence throughout my labor was a calming, reassuring force that helped me stay focused and confident in my decision to have an unmedicated birth.

Esmeralda’s unwavering support allowed me to trust my body and the process, and I truly believe that having her by my side made all the difference. She not only supported me, but she also taught my husband different techniques to help comfort me, which made him feel more involved and confident during the birth of our baby.

I was so happy and blessed to have the birth team that I did. Esmie walked with both my husband and I throughout my pregnancy. She educated us on the entire labor process and that helped us so much to know what to prepare for. On our last meet up before labor, Esmie walked through all of the positions that we should be familiar with. It was great because my husband was able to work on them with me the days leading up to labor and it gave him room to be more hands on throughout the entire labor process.

The day of labor Esmie was great at responding and helping guide me in the early stages of labor on what positions to focus on based on how my body was feeling. Everything she suggested did just the trick! She really was the perfect extra pair of hands that I needed throughout labor. She even made sure to ask what I wanted and if I was comfortable. I especially love that she asked if I would prefer my husband counter pressing me or if I preferred him in front of me to get all the oxytocin flowing. I immediately took her up on her offer of them switching places and looking back am really glad I got to have my husband right in front of me the whole time in the hospital.

I had also communicated in advance with her how important it was for me to include prayer throughout my labor process. Esmie did just that. Through every prayer, I felt a regaining of strength and that was exactly what I needed and desired for my labor. I will definitely be hiring Esmie for all of my future labors, she helped make my first labor one I love sharing about! ??

Esmeralda was amazing. She made me feel seen, heard, and cared for. My birth experience was truly a dream. Although I planned on an unmedicated birth, when my body could no longer handle labor, she made me feel cared for and let me know it was okay if birth plans changed. Now when I look back at my birth video, I feel so much peace and calmness because of her. She is very educated and absolutely loves what she does, you can feel it, and you can definitely absorb all her care and tranquility. Thank you for what you do, Esmeralda; you're truly a blessing!

As a first time mom, I had heard that doulas were very helpful with not only giving birth but also advocating for you and helping your husband know what to do during labor also. It wasn't until after our birth experience that I truly understood how extremely valuable not only a doula's work is, but also picking the perfect one for you. Esmeralda went ABOVE and beyond all my expectations! My husband was also wowed with how she was by our side throughout all of pregnancy, labor, and in my immediate post-partum time. She helped both of us feel prepared, and I love how she showed up for me based on my preferences. She is so great at asking what you need, how you would like your birth experience to be, and how she can help you fulfill that; and she delivers! She worked with us so gracefully during labor and is so knowledgeable in the birth world. She always had answers to my questions or found a way to get them! Did I mention she was also in her third trimester of pregnancy while I was in labor? You never would have known based on her calming voice and hands-on assistance during labor. She worked cohesively with the rest of my birth team, and she always believed in me! If you are at all considering a doula for your birth experience, Esmeralda is your girl!

Esmie was the perfect match for my family. After experiencing a tough previous pregnancy, she empowered me to have the birth I envisioned. She lifted me up during hard times, through my high-risk pregnancy, and kept communication throughout the whole process. Trust was a huge factor when having Esmeralda as our doula. She helped me feel calm and collected during the intense contractions. Her knowledge is exceptional. I remember calling her and with a blink of an eye she was there in our hospital room. As soon as she got there, she began all the pain management we had previously talked about. Esmeralda is an amazing doula. Not only is she very knowledgeable about the physiological aspects of the labor and delivery process, but she is also very nurting, kind, and willing to advocate for the mother in labor. She was very supportive of my decision to birth without an epidural, and did everything that she could to help ease the pain of labor as well as delivery. She was very calm, peaceful, and her presence helped to make my labor and birthing experience as pleasant as possible. I knew very little about childbirth before meeting Esmeralda, and I have learned so much from her. I highly reccommend her services to any mother out there looking to have a doula that knows what she is doing and will do everything in her power to make your labor and delivery go as smooth as possible. I thank The Most High God that she came across my path and helped me to do what my body was designed to do. She is an amazing woman of God, and I cannot say enough good things about her! We were so grateful to have Esmeralda on our birth team for the birth of our first child. We had an unmediated birth at a birth center. Esmeralda came to us around 1 am while we labored at home and then went with us to the birth center. We did lots of birth preparation but classes and literature can only prepare you so much. It was very reassuring having her with us as a constant at home and at the birth center. I really benefited from having her there, physically, mentally and spiritually. Esmeralda was very hands on and gave us the tools we needed to work through each contraction. She enabled my husband to be helpful and hands on during the labor as well. She also captured priceless photos and videos from the birth that we treasure deeply. We can't recommend her enough!

Having Esmeralda as our Doula was one of the best choices we made in regards to the birth of our son. She was professional while also being personable and respected all of our wishes. She offered her professional insight without pushing and was the perfect person for this type of work. 

I chose her because I wanted a Catholic doula and she brought our faith into the equation. The best thing she told me was a strategy for pain management and being connected to God - to offer up my suffering to God for people I know. This made contractions much more bearable. 

She helped me advocate for myself, helped my husband know how to support me, and helped bring our baby safely through the birthing process. God bless her, now and always!

Working with Esmeralda has been an empowering experience. As a first time mom, I knew I wanted to work with a doula to have a positive birth experience. I did not know much of what birth was going to look like for me, but I would 100% do it all over again with Esmeralda. At the very begining, Esmeralda told my husband and I she would serve as an additional support and not replace my husbands position in the birth experience. Esmeralda taught us so much about birth, but empowered us along the way so my husband and I can make decisions on our own in a judge-free environment. She equipped us with all the information necessary to maximize our experience. On the day of delivery (and throughout my whole pregnancy), Esmeralda checked in and always asked me how I wished to be supported. My birth experience was so empowering, positive, and beautiful because she cared so much about our experience, our baby, and our partnership. I highly recommend hiring her for support and would 100% keep hiring her for future babies.

After experiencing a very tramatic 1st pregnancy and birth, I decided that for my second pregnancy I wanted to try something different. I switched from an OBGYN to a Midwife and I also decided to hire a doula. Esmeralda met all of my expectations and made me feel at peace throughout my entire preganancy.

Esmeralda was very well aware of how my 1st pregnancy went and assured me that things will be different this time and I will be a main priority. Not only did she sit down with me but my husband and toddler as well. I loved how she included my family so that we were all on the same page and I would not be alone on this journey. 

The communication and bond was there for sure and I felt cared for and all my needs were being met. I never onced stressed and felt that this time I was being heard and taken care of. Esmeralda has such a caring and loving soul, she will go above and beyond for you in order to have your dream pregnancy. 

Not only is she knowledgeable, she is also very tender with one and she radiates so much joy that you know that you and your baby are in good hands. She is with you every step of the way, she always delivers no matter what and will fight for you and will speak up for you no matter the situation.

She is also gentle with one and goes over the game plan for you labor and delivery and always comes prepared with snacks and water for the big day! Her affirmations will have you feeling the stength one needs during the big day and her servent heart will for sure make you want her around postpartum. 

Esmeralda is the doula every women needs, before, during and after pregnancy. She truly is amazing & knows exactly what to do and her servent heart makes the experience well worth it! My husband for sure loved everything about my second pregnancy and he even recommends Esmeralda to all those expecting. 

Esmeralda is definetly the best!

I would highly recommend Esmie’s doula service to anyone in need of support during their pregnancy and childbirth journey. From the initial consultation to the postpartum follow-up, the care and attention provided by her were exceptional.

She is completely compassionate, warm, understanding, strong, and incredibly knowledgeable, and was always available to answer any questions or concerns I had throughout my pregnancy. She helped me navigate my options, offered evidence-based information, and helped me create a comprehensive birth plan that reflected my values and desires. During labor and delivery, she was a calming presence and provided emotional and physical support, which was invaluable during such an intense and transformative experience. 

In addition to her excellent support during labor, the postpartum follow-up was also top-notch. I can’t recommend this service ENOUGH. She checked in on me regularly and provided resources and support as I adjusted to life with a newborn. She washed my dishes, grocery shopped for me, cooked me meals, let me nap, and most importantly spent time with me during an isolating time (which postpartum naturally brings). 

Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better doula experience. Her compassionate care and expertise made all the difference in my childbirth journey. I would highly recommend this Esmie to anyone looking for exceptional support during this special time in their lives.

Having Esmeralda as my birth doula for my second baby, was hands down the best experience ever and am so grateful for her! She provided my spouse and I with so much knowledge even though this was our second child! I expressed my goals for this birth which were to have a VBAC and Esmeralda helped us achieve that goal! She helped me stay focused and even at 38 weeks when my OB was not on board with my birth plan, she helped me I find a provider who would LISTEN to me and support me! 
my delivery was the most blissful experience, I was able to attain my natural, unmedicated VBAC and in the most peaceful way! If you are at all just even in the slightest considering hiring a doula, Esmeralda is definitely the one for the job, HANDS DOWN! 
We will forever be grateful for all that she did for us and will always be considered part of our villiage.

I was pregnant with my fourth and constantly kept hearing how easy this time around would be. I had gone with an OB/GYN for my first three deliveries. When I found out I was pregnant with my fourth, I knew I wanted to try something different. 

Aside from my midwife, I reached out to Esmeralda and she was a great asset to this pregnancy journey. She answered so many questions I had and didn't ever make me feel any shame for still having questions this time around. She came over to my home to help me with different stretching techniques and positions I could use as I neared my due date. 

While she was here, she made sure to be encouraging to me, listened intently and even made sure she invited my husband to be involved as much as possible. 

The techniques I learned from her that day were extremely helpful and I wish I had learned them before! Before leaving, she reassured me that I had a voice and I felt empowered to take the lead in my delivery preferences. 

Not only did I have a unique and beautiful birth experience, Esmeralda regularly checked in with me to ensure I felt supported through the postpartum stage.

I highly recommend reaching out to Esmeralda and including her in your pregnancy journey. Having a professional with such a caring spirit is exactly what we need as expectant mothers.
