Aneke provided doula services in connection with the birth of our first child in August 2024. We met with her a couple times in advance of delivery to discuss preferences and questions, then on the big day, she was able to provide dilation checks and support prior to traveling to the hospital. Once at the hospital, she helped guide us through the process as well as provide physical support. She was a helpful advocate and provided me with the confidence to obtained the unmedicated birth I desired. Without her calmly explaining what was going on, providing recommendations, and giving physical counter pressure support, I am certain the experience would have been much more stressful. After delivery, she stopped by in the following days to check in on baby, nursing, and provided physical recovery assistance. She was always prompt in responding and I couldn't recommend her more!

Working with Aneke Roach was an incredibly positive experience from start to finish. Before my delivery, she visited me and offered a wealth of useful suggestions that made me feel confident and well-prepared for labor. Her kindness and expertise shone through every meeting. During the delivery, her supportive presence—massaging and encouraging me when I needed it most—helped ease the intensity of the moment. Even after my baby was born, Aneke continued to care by visiting to assist with breastfeeding and to check on my wound. I am so grateful for her compassionate support at every step of my journey, and I highly recommend her to any expecting parent!!

Aneke was amazingly supportive from pregnancy through postpartum! She is experienced, kind, and an incredible wealth of knowledge! Her CBE class was insightful, well rounded, and enjoyable. During labor when things got tough, her calm disposition and confidence, from years of diverse experiences, made it easy for me to trust her and trust the process and helped keep my anxiety at bay too. I also came across many areas where she was proactive and informative which allowed me to make better decisions and generally be better prepared. I don't even want to imagine what my labor and birth would have been like without her as I know other providers would not have been able to fill in the gaps. Once my baby arrived, she continued to provide support that made all the difference, like during those early breastfeeding days. I can't thank Aneke enough or say enough good things about her!

We met Aneke about 2 months before the birth of our daughter to be our birth doula. We talked to her about our birth plan, and where we wanted flexibility. Aneke was very helpful from the beginning educating us about her experiences, and explaining the nuances of birthing in a very kind and gentle manner. My wife and I knew very early on that we wanted her to be our birth doula.

Leading up to our daughters birth, Aneke helped us understand the different things that could happen leading up to and during the birthing process in the hospital. On the day of our daughters birth, Aneke was with us for ~20 hours in the hospital, helping with massaging, changing positions for contractions and pushing, breathing techniques, and other hands-on support. Based on our request, she also took candid photos of us to help us remember the process.

Post birth, Aneke helped us with latching and breast feeding techniques. She also helped us preserve the placenta for the future.
We highly recommend Aneke for all birth related needs! Thank you so much.

I feel so lucky to find Aneke as my birth doula. As a first time mom, I'm nervous about everything related to pregnancy and delivery. And Aneke, with her experience and warm personality, is the professional I can trust to help me.

When I first met Aneke in my 32 weeks, my baby was breech. If I couldn't get him flipped, I needed to have a C-section, which I was so freaked out about. On the first office visit, Aneke gave me lots of advices on how to flip a breech baby, also eased my mind and told me there's a procedure called ECV which the physician can try to flip the baby on and after 37 weeks, she also gave me recommendation of physicians who are good at it from her experience, I appreciate all of it. As my little one didn't want to flip by himself, I ended up an ECV with my own OB. Aneke accompanied me during the 5 hour long period and her encouragement and help with changing positions during my ECV helped me succeed! I couldn’t be so brave if she was not there.

Then my labor didn’t start spontaneously so I ended up with the induction labor in my 41 weeks. Aneke accompanied me in the hospital with the active labor and the final delivery. I gained a lot of confidence from her encourangement. She also took photos of our precious moments.I’m happy to have a smooth delivery and thanks so much for her accompaniment.

During the postpartum visit, she gave me tips on breastfeeding, helped check myself and the baby, and also brought me several placenta paints which are precious gifts for my first baby.

I have too much to say about my experience with Aneke and I just feel I couldn’t express my gratefulness more with all the words. Thank you for reading all my words.

TLDR: Aneke is the best birth doula! Recommend to everyone, especially for the first time mom!

Aneke was my birth doula in Dec. 2024, she was awesome in supporting me during birth, prenatal, and postpartum. I would like to specifically call-out her professionalism during my labor. She suggested shower to confirm if I was indeed in active labor, arrived on time, checked my dilation, and performed great massage at my home. More importantly, she talked to the nurse and got me admitted to the hospital with 2cm dilation because she called out my effacement was 90%. She helped with lots of positions to speed up my labor. Moreover, she also cares about my feelings a lot, respect my opinion and provide professional advises. Both makes my labor experience awesome! I would strongly recommend her as your birth doula because she can do more than a typical doula could.

During postpartum visit, she also performed great massage on my organs and can check upon my uterus positions, wound healing progress, and baby wellness. You would not regret if you hire her as your birth doula.

I was having difficulties feeding my 1 week and 2 day old baby (I'm top heavy), and feeling discouraged every time he would cry as soon as i would put him on my nursing pillow. My husband looked up midwives for me and luckily found Aneke. The very next day she came and helped me in so many ways. She let me know the nursing pillow was not helping us because of my breast size and soft tissue, so she guided me into a couple of positions I hadn't tried and was successful with the side-lying position. No fuss, bubs just happily drank milk, and I felt such relief. She answered all of our questions, weighed our little boy letting me know he was back up to his birth weight, gave me advice on other things like his belly button that worked like a charm, and she was so encouraging, making this mama remember I was doing a great job, which meant so much to me since right before her visit, I was questioning how I was going to feed my baby without him crying! By the time she left I felt hopeful, more confident, and most importantly I had peace of mind. We were so happy we reached out to her!

I would recommend Aneke over and over again!!
Our experience with Aneke was exceptional and honestly perfect!
Words cannot describe how much help she was!! She made our journey very easy, comforting, and of course educational. She made sure we understood the pregnancy process, the hospital process and all expectations, before, during and after pregnancy.  She advocated for my wife and her birth plan and it was perfect!
If you're looking for a doula, you need Aneke by your side. She makes pregnancy and birthing a magical, incredible, and overall amazing experience!

Words cannot express how grateful we are to have had Aneke by our side during the birth of our baby.

From the very beginning, she was more than just a guide—she was a rock. She helped us navigate some incredibly complex and difficult decisions with clarity and confidence, ensuring we felt empowered and informed every step of the way.

Her preparation was invaluable. She didn’t just show up on the big day; she made sure we were mentally, emotionally, and physically ready for the challenges ahead. And when the moment came, she was there—through every twist and turn, through long hours, and even through back-to-back all-nighters, never once wavering in her energy, focus, or support.

What stood out most was her ability to remain calm, composed, and deeply professional no matter what was happening. In moments of exhaustion and uncertainty, she was the steady presence we needed, offering guidance, reassurance, and even a little humor when it was most needed.

By the end of it all, Aneke wasn’t just a doula—she was family. If you’re looking for someone who will truly go the extra mile (and then some), who will have your back in every sense of the word, and who will make an overwhelming process feel surmountable, she is the one. We can’t imagine this journey without her, and we will forever be grateful for the role she played in bringing our baby into the world.

We have already recommended her to friends and family.

This was my very first pregnancy and having Aneke as our doula relieved so much of my worry. Aneke has been so incredibly supportive and caring; to have her energy, experience, and wisdom in the delivery room truly made a difference for me as my labor was 24 hours long and I had many moments of doubting my strength but she helped me be able to dig deep and find my way through delivering my baby boy. I would absolutely work with her again and I highly reccomend her, especially for first time moms!!

Aneke was amazing for us. She always goes an extra mile to ensure you are in great shape. Right from the first meeting, she was so easy to talk to. She managed to keep our stress levels low by being patient with us and answering all the crazy questions we had. On d-day, she was a pillar of strength for us. I'm glad we found her! I couldn't recommend her enough, if you want someone who is passionate about babies, then look no further.

I cannot express how grateful I am grateful for the incredible support Aneke provided during my pregnancy, labor, and postpartum period. She was responsive and always replied promptly, which made a huge difference in my comfort and confidence. Before labor began, she came over and helped me try various home remedies, although I eventually needed to go to the hospital for induction. She met us there and stayed through the night, offering unwavering support.

When contractions started, she was an amazing source of moral support, continuously massaging me and encouraging me. Her presence was invaluable, and I felt truly cared for. After my baby was born, she continued to provide exceptional support through a couple of home visits. She assisted me with lactation consultations and postpartum massages, ensuring both my baby and I were well taken care of.

What stood out the most was her genuine care and availability. Unlike other providers, who require appointments and visits that can be stressful, she was just a text away and readily available for home visits. This level of accessibility was crucial during those first few weeks after birth. Her dedication, compassion, and expertise made a world of difference, and I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Choosing Aneke as my birth doula was the best decision I made for my delivery. I was very afraid of tearing during natural birth, but with her help, I didn't experience any perineal tearing. On the day of delivery, she arrived at my home in time to massage me, significantly reducing the pain from my contractions. In the delivery room, she guided the nurses to help me change positions. Without her, I wouldn't have avoided tearing and might not have been able to push the baby out smoothly, as the baby's head was stuck in one position for too long. Her expertise helped me adjust my position in time, allowing the baby to be born smoothly. She also gave me a lot of advice and support both before and after the birth. I have recommended her to every friend of mine, and if I have a second child, I will definitely choose Aneke again!

Aneke is truly incredible and has become a friend. I had researched for years about natural birth, feeling like I had to learn it on my own to be prepared for situations that could arise. But the first time we met her it was like a weight was lifted because we felt we could trust her instead of feeling like we had to do it all on our own.

She made this process SO much better and kept my nerves calm. Babies come out one way or the other, but I promise your experience will be 100% better if she is on your team! During our hospital birth she was able to help us make informed decisions when things didn't go according to plan. We would have been panicked without her there. Even if your at the best hospital, they don't have the time to spend to get to know YOU. But to Aneke your a real person and a friend.

She is also the only one I could find who was willing to attend a hospital birth as a doula, but also having access to her years of experience as a midwife. It was the perfect fit for us. She also had classes that were super helpful. And she drove to our house so we didn't have to leave home right away with our newborn.

You won't regret having Aneke in your life. She is truly a rare gem!

Having Aneke by us during labor was one of the biggest reasons for our positive birth story. Aneke is a very kind and communicative person who always ensured that I was heard. She formed a bridge not only between the staff at the hospital and I, but also between my family and I. My family felt empowered in supporting me. My labor started off with anxiety and fears but ended up with me becoming resilient & taking charge. Aneke helped us understand the different procedures in the hospital, enabling us to make better choices. I highly recommend Aneke as a doula to anyone wanting a peaceful and empowering birthing experience.

There are not enough words to express how grateful I am for having worked with Aneke. If you are thinking about hiring a doula I wholeheartedly recommend that you work with her with no reservations!

We first met with Aneke a couple months before I gave birth. During her initial visits she took the time to learn more about us, our family, and our wishes for the delivery. We were immediately struck by how kind, compassionate, skilled, and interpersonally aware she is. She noticed the little details and remembered things that were important to us. She is very culturally competent and was considerate of our needs relating to the delivery! All of this led to what felt like a seamless integration into our family during a highly personal and intimate time in our lives.

We were working with a tight timeline and she was flexible in accommodating ou super busy schedules! We signed up for one of her one-on-one childbirth education classes (highly recommended for first time moms!). She walked us through a step-by-step process of what to expect, various decision points - which helped us prepare for the delivery and postpartum periods.

Having Aneke as part of my care team on delivery day helped empower me make choices that I would not have felt comfortable doing on my own. Her coaching and counsel helped me better advocate for my needs. To put it simply, I had an extremely positive birthing experience in big part because of her grounding presence. She anticipated my needs during labor (part of which I did unmedicated) which is of tremendous help - especially when you are mid-contraction and are not able to speak!

During the postpartum period, Aneke visited us a couple times and gave us invaluable tips (around sleep, postpartum body care, breastfeeding etc) that helped us with the transition into parenthood.

We feel blessed that we met Aneke and again feel truly grateful that we had the opportunity to work with her!

Working with Aneke as my postpartum doula was an absolute blessing during the arrival of my second baby. From the moment she stepped into our home at just three weeks postpartum until our little one was three months old, Aneke brought such kindness and positivity with her on every visit. Her presence felt like a breath of fresh air, infusing our home with energy and support.

During her visits, Aneke seamlessly took charge, effortlessly juggling various tasks from caring for the baby to tidying up the kitchen, tackling the laundry, and cooking food (her oatmeal muffins and salads are the best!). It was incredible to witness her intuitive understanding of our needs without much guidance. For example, in the mornings, she would take the baby, allowing me to get dressed and brush my teeth. By the time I returned, she would have breakfast ready, the dishwasher and laundry running – all without any guidance.

With Aneke by my side, my postpartum recovery felt markedly smoother and more manageable. Aneke's wealth of experience in supporting women before and after childbirth shone through in her unwavering dedication to my well-being. It was evident that she genuinely cared about my recovery journey, and her innate ability to anticipate my needs was truly remarkable. I am eternally grateful for Aneke's support during such a transformative time in my life. She is an exceptional postpartum doula whose compassion and expertise make her an invaluable asset to any new parent.

Aneke was our doula joining us at the hospital delivery as well as postpartum. Her huge experience and knowledge about birth in different countries like Germany, Mexico and the US combined with her warm character and assertiveness (to advocat in hospital) make her the best companion for my delivery I could ever have imagined.

She has a feeling for the support you wish for/ need and stands on your side. She cares about you and the whole family and is available for any question/ concerns you  might have. She was our “go to person” for everything concerning pregnancy, birth and newborn!

We highly recommend Aneke as Doula. We are very thankful for all her support!

Aneke is absolutely wonderful. She has helped me through 2 births now, and I feel truly grateful that she was by my side advocating for mine and my babies health. She has a very sweet manner about her, and at the same time is confident and extremely empowering for the mother and her support system. Aneke is extremely experienced and knowledgeable. She was able to support me at home in the beginning of labor and then later she was able to help me better understand information that was rapidly given to me in the hospital. She worked tirelessly to help me through labor in the hospital and side by side with my health team to ensure my deliveries were safe. Aneke also offers many services prenatal and postnatal. Her massages are particularly wonderful, my favorites are the massage to help the baby drop in the last week, and also the postpartum tummy massage. Please do yourself a world of good and choose Aneke to help you on your birth journey.

My fiance and I worked with Aneke following the birth of our first child and we can't recommend her enough! Aneke is kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable. She took time to get to know us and our desires for our labor and delivery. She came alongside us in support each step of the way.

Her role during birth was more than what I expected, she guided us through labor for 14 hours straight and stayed with us the first hours after baby was born. My fiance was so thankful for her support and direction during labor. She helped him know how to help me with certain positions throughout labor which was very helpful for us both! He felt better equipped as a birthing partner because of her help.

We both appreciated Aneke support and encouragement postpartum! She checked in on us and cared about how the whole family unit was doing postpartum. She encouraged us in how we were doing and made us know she was available for postpartum support if we needed any extra help. It was so nice to know that she was there if we needed extra postpartum support in those early days.

Aneke is kind, empathetic, compassionate, and competent, she was such a joy to have on our birth team. If you are looking for someone to join your team we highly recommend Aneke!!
