I am a full spectrum doula, trained and certified in birth, postpartum, and end of life support. As an engaged member of our local birth community, I'm a member of the Twin Cities Childbirth Collective. My greatest desire is to walk alongside individuals and families as they navigate the milestones of life — our biggest joys and challenges as human beings. I am a science nerd and have deep respect for research and evidence-based information; however, I value kindness, compassion, and empathy, above all. I strive to listen to the unique needs of each client and respect cultural differences and family dynamics. In order to serve clients holistically, I became a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE), Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), and am also recently certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) from Postpartum Support International. There is nothing that I love more than helping a family with infant feeding! My strengths in birth work are reducing anxiety and overwhelm by listening, affirming clients’ feelings, answering their questions, and using my healthcare background to clearly explain what they can expect each step of the way. I am a queer person who has lived experience with trauma, pregnancy loss, body image issues and dysphoria during pregnancy, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, chronic illness, physical disability, and neurodiversity. I consider it a special honor to hold space for families facing these particular challenges. I am also a breastfeeding parent of a toddler and a champion of nursing as a matter of parental and child public health. In both my professional and personal life, I strive to passionately support organizations that protect, promote and support breastfeeding so that other parents may have the opportunity to learn more about it and explore how it can positively impact their family.
