Star Davidson was my Doula for my second birth. From the moment I met her, she just exudes this calming demeanor that permeates any feelings of anxiety you could have. She asks all the right questions to get to know you and your desires for your ideal birth. She will advocate for you but will also flex with you if you decide to take an alternate route on the day of your birth. The best way I can describe Star, is she is the calming water that fills any role needed to support you welcoming you little one into the world. On the day of my birth, Star acted as my personal masseuse, walking partner, and tag teamed with my husband to hold counter pressure during contractions. I had to transfer to the hosital from my birthing center right before the baby came and she gathered all our things, put them in our car, and drove our car over to the hospital so that my husband could accompany me in the ambulance and be present for the birth that happened seconds after my arrival to labor and delivery. I would not heistate to contact Star for any future births or recommend her to anyone searching for a Doula who goes above and beyond.

Working with Star through my pregnancy and birth journey was so special. I was completely new to motherhood, I had no idea what to expect, and Star was there for any and all random questions I had. Of course I could have read books (and did) or used Google to search for answers to my questions and concerns, but Star encouraged me to trust myself above all else and that was priceless.  When I felt the need for further research, she was so quick to send me solid sources to read and when asked offered her own wisdom which I leaned into fully. My birth story was so beautiful, I felt prepared (as anyone can), I felt supported and I wouldn't have had the same experience without her.  I would recommend her to anyone that asked, she has a true gift of presence, trusted wisdom and she's such a joy to be around. Just having her in the room left me with such a feeling of safety because of the trust we had built leading up to the big day. :)

STAR IS AN AMAZING DOULA!!

She has this special calm energy that makes everything around her feel safe and easy. It was my first baby, and I had so many worries. At our first in-person meeting, Star really listened to me and my husband. She took time to learn what we wanted for the birth. She shared helpful books and materials to help me educate myself and make informed decisions.
As my due date got closer, she checked in with me several times and also met with my OB-GYN. Every time she texted or we met, I felt so much better.
On the big day, Star was like a gift from God for me and my husband. When she walked into the hospital room, the stress melted away. It turned peaceful, just like I wanted. It was like she just turned off everything stressful and made everything calm and peaceful. Labor was very long and tough, but she stayed with me every single moment. I worried she needed a break, but she just kept helping me with her words, counter-pressure, back rubs, position changes, breathing, a warm shower, and a lot more. There were enough things in the hospital to make me stressed, but Star's voice and words just kept me steady and strong.
The birth went so well—mostly just how we planned. Right after giving birth, she stayed with me and helped until I got comfortable. She went way above and beyond my expectations for a doula.
I give Star so much thanks for that. She checked on us a few days after the birth, in person and via texts, to make sure we were okay.

Having an unmedicated birth was something my husband and I discussed long before pregnancy. Although the conversation typically was him saying I should have an unmedicated birth and me saying heck no, give me the epidural. The first book I read when I became pregnant was Expecting Better by Emily Oster - the evidence in the text is what set my mind on having an unmedicated birth. My next step was to find a doula. I found Star by looking up local birth centers and doulas. Ultimately I clicked on her profile because she was local to my hometown. We met up, discussed birth goals and decided to work together.

She checked in often leading up to our due date and suggested many tips like exercises, stretches, foods, books, etc to help prepare for labor and birth.

I text Star a couple hours after contractions began to let her know they weren’t going away. She checked in and offered advice for laboring at home. When we decided it was time to go to the hospital, Star met us there and immediately went to action. She created a calm atmosphere by turning off lights and playing ambient music. She took initiative and discussed our birth preferences with the nurse so that my husband and I didn’t need to.

Star never left my side during labor. Her belief in me was unwavering, she was there to hold my hand, stroke my arm, offer words of encouragement, and handed me food and water when asked. She always asked if I wanted to change positions and gently encouraged me to instead of telling me what to do.

After baby was born she stayed a couple hours to ensure I was doing good, even spoon feeding me in bed so I could hold our son! She checked in throughout the next few days and completed a postpartum appointment a week or two after we settled. She provided a timeline and retelling of my labor and birth which is so nice to have.

I truly could not have had a blissful unmedicated birth without Star.

My friend had recommended Star and I am so grateful that she was able to be a part of my daughter's birth. She is so gentle and such a calming presence that it is impossible not to feel peaceful around her. She was just so on my side and helped me feel so seen and heard no matter what crazy stuff I was saying. Me and my husband highly, highly recommend her and are forever grateful for her being there!

Star was amazing to work with! 

Her calming and nurturing spirit was exactly what I needed. 
I could not imagine making it through an unmediated birth without her support.

She provided intuitive encouragement and prayer as well as physical support.  

She was also very helpful in navigating any fears I had around birth throughout pregnancy. 

I really didn't know what to expect when hiring a Doula. She definitely exceeded what I thought I would need throughout labor.

I had my first home birth in March, and I’m so grateful to have had Star by my side. From the start of my pregnancy through labor and birth, she was incredibly supportive. Her calm, positive presence made such a difference, and she has a true gift for reading the room—knowing exactly when to step in and when to give me space.

This was my fourth birth, but my first time working with a doula, and I can honestly say I couldn’t have had such an amazing experience without Star’s guidance and care. She helped me feel grounded, empowered, and fully supported throughout the entire process. I can’t recommend her enough!

The doula I was planning on using for my birth had suddenly become unavailable. She had reccomended that I use Star instead. I was skeptical at first and sad because I wanted the doula who I had originally used in previous births and I was sad I couldn't use her... I had told my previous doula that I would FaceTime with Star and see if we had chemistry, but if not that I would accept a refund and try to birth without a doula(this was my fourth child). Throughout our entire meeting, Star was so kind and understanding. I really felt like we connected right away, so I proceeded to use her for my birth. Turns out she was SUCH an amazing choice!!! I had expressed my thoughts about where I truly needed the most help throughout labor and pushing and she was absolutely incredible and helpful throughout the entire time and especially where I had asked for help. She had SO much stamina to be able to keep up with all my requests for a hip squeeze during my contractions, when it came time to push she helped me stay focused, like I had wanted. She also helped my husband re-learn the hip squeeze so he could help as well. She also was very well equipped with little things like essential oils, nutritious snacks, lip balm, and she even brought fairy lights to help with the calm birth ambience... I am SO glad I chose to use Star's doula services instead of accepting the refund my original doula offered me. I have absolutely no regrets and I am so grateful and honored to have known her and used her for my birthing experience.??

I had a very long hard birth but star was by my side the whole time! I went into labor early in the morning and star came to my house and then road with me to the birthing center and was there until the next day when my little guy finally came out star had so many amazing things to help me including drinks snacks oils helpful techniques and tools to keep me calm and focused she stayed with me the whole time staying awake and I couldn’t have done it without her so thankful for her will definitely request her if I have another one day!

I had an absolutely amazing birth in September 2023 and I'm ever so thankful I had Star by my side! I felt so supported by her the whole way through. She was so encouraging and helpful in keeping me focused. She was so great at meeting any need I had immediately both during and those few hours post birth. Star has such a calming presence and immediately makes you feel comfortable when she walks in the room. I'm ever so grateful for her!

Labor and delivery can be oh so scary, especially when it is your first time. After researching and interviewing doulas from others' recommendations.. I still was not satisfied with the connections I had made. Then- there was Star, she changed everything! It felt right and my fears were comforted through each step of the process by her intuitive support. I labored for 24 hours, ... it was the hardest day of my life, emotionally and physically. With both joy and fear flowing we made it!! We had to make big decisions together, that making alone would have been nearly impossible to look back on and feel good about without the emotional support Star provided as my doula. Since our labor and delivery success, she has followed up with us to continue to help me process the most important day of my life. She has provided the most comforting post-partum care that has meant the most in such a big transition. Both my son, Carter and I recommend Star to shine light on your personal experience and add more joy into your L&D story. Star has a way of using power and knowledge to flow easily while leading you through the hardest hours on such a special birthday. Happy Birthing!!
