Maya was a true gift during my labor and delivery! We came into the process with some clear goals and desires, and Maya did everything to make them a reality. During moments of intense pain, Maya was there to relieve it with massage and her calming presence. She also was very knowledgeable about different positions that could help move labor along (we had a multi-hour induction). Maya was also a great source of advice and information, and shared her opinion while also making sure we were doing what we wanted. Highly recommend Maya for any woman seeking a calm and smooth birth.

We had an excellent experience with Maya as our doula for our first child; from our first meeting in which we felt heard when articulating our goals, to the two sessions prior to birth when she shared her knowledge and answered all our questions, to the birth itself when she advocated for us and helped us stay calm and focused, to our final post-natal session together when she came to our home to check in and visit our new family. She is kind, thoughtful, knowledgeable, generous, flexible (but not flimsy), open, and personable. She shared so much valuable information that really helped us sculpt our own birthing experience with clarity, confidence, flexibility, and realistic expectations.
We even had a chance to work with her amazing backup doula, Julie, on our big day while Maya was finishing up with an already-in-progress birth. Even after having just supported another woman through labor, Maya showed up to our delivery room fresh, ready, focused, and with plenty of time to spare.
She also referred us to a wonderful post-partem doula who gave us excellent advice during the early stages of being home with our new baby.
I can't say enough about how amazing she is. I would work with Maya again in a heartbeat.

The best decision we made in the lead up to our first birth was to hire Maya! We interviewed multiple doulas and knew pretty quickly that Maya was the one. She's incredibly knowledgable and exudes so much kindness and warmth. We had two prenatal meetings with her where we talked about my birth plan, what may arise and how we'd address various scenarios. Between meetings she shared resources and answered questions I had.
During the labor and birth Maya was so supportive to not only me, but to my husband. While I was pretty adamant I wanted an unmedicated birth, Maya helped me think through what it would look like if that plan changed. Lo and behold, I ended up getting an epidural and was grateful to have thought through this ahead of time. She sat with me for hours on end as I breathed through some really intense contractions. When I got the point of wanting an epidural, Maya was very supportive. Throughout the entire labor she was very hands-on, helping me into different positions (Spinning Babies!) and working closely with the various nurses to ensure my needs were met. She was right by my side during pushing and for the delivery of our baby girl. She kept in touch with us in the postpartum period and came over for a final visit to discuss how the birth went. It was really nice to be able to talk it through and tie a bow around the whole thing.
In short, we can't recommend Maya highly enough!
