We were fortunate that the birth of our daughter was the 250th birth that Tammy supported/assisted! It was an honor that we'll never forget. The best decision I ever made was to hire Tammy as our birth doula. I had planned for an unmedicated birth at a local birthing center, however, our baby had different plans. At 41 weeks, my amniotic fluid level was dangerously low, and I risked out of the birthing center and had to be induced at the hospital. This was my worst fear come true, as I knew that induction would lead to every other intervention that I had hoped to avoid. Having Tammy's support and reassurance helped me throughout my hospital birth experience. Each time a new intervention was introduced to me, I either had to make a choice or surrender to the situation, as the health of my baby was the most important. I consistently sought Tammy's guidance and support when I felt doubtful or helpless over the situation. She is a non-biased doula when it comes to the entire birth experience and had my best interests and our baby's best interests at heart. Though I felt some of the birth experience was more traumatic than I could have ever expected, I delivered a healthy baby girl and was overjoyed the first time I held her in my arms. I was so happy that Tammy was part of this life changing experience with us. My husband and I both adore her and we also highly recommend her private birth education classes. It gave us the chance to get to know her better and build a wonderful relationship. I continue to communicate with Tammy and feel her support during this postpartum time. I can't emphasize enough how fantastic Tammy is and how she made a potentially frightening situation become a very positive one for all of us. All my gratitude to Tammy - it goes without saying that I recommend her services to every mama searching for the best doula!
Tammy served as our Doula for the birth of all three children. I've known Tammy for 6 years and remember each birth story so vividly.
We vividly remember the first day we met her- she came over to our home for the interview and she was on time, professional and all of her questions led with our needs and what we were looking for in a doula and how we envisioned our birth to go. I appreciated how experienced she was along with her calm and friendly demeanor. Even though we had just met, my husband and I felt like we had known her for many years.
Pre-birth, Tammy met with us for our prenatal visits and educated us around what to expect during labor and delivery and always took the time to answer all the questions we had (and trust me we had plenty since we were first time parents at this point). As our due date drew near, we stayed in close contact and we were all on the same page in terms of game plan whenever labor were to begin. Based on the thorough prep she had done during our prenatal vistis, she knew exactly what I wanted and needed during labor. She exceeded my expectations on all levels.
Fast forward to birth #2- Tammy knew the drill. We had so much fun during the birth and just like the first time around- everything went according to plan and she was a tremendous help not only physically, but emotionally as well.
Birth #3- We all were prepared for a fast delivery this time so as soon as we texted her saying we were in labor. In fact, as soon as we arrived in to our delivery room, she came in two minutes later!
While each birth story was slightly unique from the other, one constant was Tammy's professionalism and her outstanding bedside manner. She has exceptional experiences and referrals. We love her authenticity and genuine empathy and care. We feel so blessed to have had her as part of our birth team for our three boys!
The Kim Family
I feel so amazingly honored, grateful, and lucky to say that Tammy has been there for the births of all my children! My husband and I hired Tammy for the birth of our first child, back in 2011. We hired her because we had a good feeling about her and her views on birth were aligned with ours. We had a wonderful experience with her. Her support helped me have an unmedicated hospital birth. Throughout the process, she gently and respectfully reminded me of my goals, and helped my husband and I advocate for the birth we wanted. My next two births were homebirths, and Tammy again provided her amazing support for both of them. Both times, my labor actually sped up once Tammy was there! Tammy’s presence allows me to fully trust and let go, because I know she takes care of me: she reminds me to drink water, she knows when it’s time to call the midwife, and she always knows how to support me during a contraction. Her presence is so calming and loving, I couldn’t have imagined any of my births without her. Tammy helped bring my three beautiful boys earth side and she will forever be in our hearts.
I knew I wanted to hire a doula for the birth of my daughter. I had so many fears about childbirth. I'd lost 4 pregnancies before getting pregnant with my daughter and I was terrified of something going wrong. I sent emails to a few doulas and Tammy responded right away. That's what us nervous nellies need--response.
I liked Tammy immediately. I loved that she came to our house to review her services. She was calm and comforting, which is just what I needed. Throughout my pregnancy, she was responsive to emails and texts. As I got closer to labor, I felt more confident knowing that I had her on my team. I read all kinds of books about what to do during labor (positions to try, etc),and it was a relief knowing my husband and I wouldn't have to remember all those things in the heat of the moment because Tammy would be there to guide us.
And boy did she guide us. My labor was LONG. In retrospect, I feel silly for calling her at 3am, telling her about the contractions I'd had since 7pm. In retrospect, I was nowhere close to delivery, but I was scared. She met us at the hospital and when they told me I was only dilated 1cm, she was there to reassure me. I was crying, feeling defeated. She went into action mode and helped me labor in the hallway. Then we made a trip to the chiropractor for an adjustment. Yes, WHILE IN LABOR. She is brilliant. It worked and I was nearly 5cm when we got back to the hospital.
She massaged me and adjusted my ponytail and gave me juice and helped me into and out of the bath tub. I don't know what I would have done without her. Having her there allowed my husband to be more of a cheerleader than a coach, which is what I wanted. In hour 27, my daughter was born. Tammy was there the whole time. I'm quite certain my labor would not have been as smooth without her.
After my daughter arrived, she checked in on us. She is a true friend now. Thank you, Tammy, for everything!
We found Tammy because we were looking for baby massage instruction for our 10 month old. She was great! We did 3 weekly sessions and they were easy but informative, and Tammy's a terrific instructor. We started using the techniques immediately and noticed a definite improvement as our baby responded to daily massage. He's also teething, so we think this is helping with that. And it's a nice bonding time with the baby (and you have a lot of massage techniques that she shows you, so you have choices - if he doesn't seem to want to do one you have others to use).
We'd highly recommend the classes and Tammy for anyone with a newborn!
Tammy was at the birth of my two daughters, in January 2014 and January 2017. After interviewing 12 doulas (I know!) during my first pregnancy, my husband and I felt an immediate connection with Tammy. She has an ease, positivity, and radiance about her. She’s been to many births, and had attended many births at our hospital, Kaiser Harbor City. It was so good to know someone was available by phone or text when I had any questions or just wanted to share how I was feeling. My first labor was fast - total of 2.5 hours! Tammy was responsive and sprung into action when we called her at 5am. She met us at the hospital and it was soothing to see her open my car door for me and bring the wheelchair - I was soon to find out that the baby head was right there. She was by my side during my quick labor, giving me water, holding my hand, and telling me soothing and positive messages. She also delivered my placenta to the encapsulator for me - bonus! Tammy also helped me latch the baby for the first time, and helped with this during her postpartum visit.
I thought of Tammy right away during my first trimester with my second. We were thrilled she would be with us, this time at our home birth. Again, when we called Tammy at 1:20 am, she promptly made her way over. She was ready to support me and my husband, massage my hip, assist my midwife as needed, and tell me how well I was doing during labor (this was a key when I was doubting myself during the painful contractions). After my birth, she got to use some of her oils in her special doula-ing kit, like peppermint oil for this and that. She also helped latch the baby again for the first time, and helped again with this during her postpartum visit. She and my midwife closed our bedroom door after all was said and done; everything was clean and looked just normal. I wouldn’t have done my births in any other way, and so glad that Tammy was present at the births of both my daughters. Highly recommend.
Let me tell you a little bit about my amazing doula, Tammy. It wasn't too far into our interview with her that I knew this was our doula. Her response time was near immediate which was HUGE for me. She brought a list of questions to the interview of "what to ask your doula", this was very helpful being that some of the questions I had not thought to ask. We also signed up for her birth education, we loved the idea that we could have a one on one birth education class in our home. Every prenatal visit she was on time, and continued to respond to emails and texts very promptly, again, this was an aspect about her I very much appreciated. As a soon to be first time Mom, the trust and reliability that was built through her promptness and follow through made me feel so confident about having her with me through labor/birth. During the labor process you feel and know you have 100% of Tammy's attention. The care and concern she has for her clients is so genuine and pure. Going through labor for the first time it is easy to loose confindence and focus, when I had those moments Tammy was very intune and helped me fight to regain my confidence and control. The support she provided to me and also to my Husband is something we are forever grateful for. Preparing to go through labor for the first time can be scary, full of fears, overwhelming and you just hope and pray that all of your birth desires are respected by your Doctor and hospital staff. For us, having Tammy helped with so many of those feelings. She is a warrior for her clients, she is there to fight for you when you have nothing left and feel like giving up, she has the words for you when you have no words, she is your biggest cheer leader when you need to be reminded of how awesome you are and reminds you that "you've got this"! Its for all these reasons and more that we hired Tammy for our second birth and we will continue to have her at every future birth.
Tammy was my doula when I delivered my sweet surrogate son this past June. The experience was amazing!!! She was supportive in the perfect ways through labor. In the beginning it was more fun than anything waiting for labor to pick up. In her words, "It's almost like a party!" hearing everyone laugh was my favorite part. She knew exactly what to say and do to settle my Intended Fathers nerves. Once labor picked up and things got hard she was right there to remind me to change positions, go to the restroom, drink and eat snacks when I could. When labor went long and I decided to change my mind on not wanting medication she was very supportive of my decsion. When that sweet boy decided to arrive and that moment we were all were waiting for was finally here she took photos and helped orchestrate everything we all were hoping for. From making sure the dad cut the cord to helping with nursing and even after visiting us all in the hospital and offering her support. Seeing her hold this little guy and seeing her sheer joy in her face was so nice to see someone really love what they do! The experience was beyond wonderful and to have her support really made me more relaxed and settled my fears about labor and delivery. Im hoping she will be by my side again if I have another surrogate baby in the future.
I am so happy we hired Tammy Leeper for the birth of both of my daughters. Her advice, expertise, and kindness really helped me (& my husband) keep our sanity during the pregnancies and births. Not only is she always available via text during pregnancy, which is so helpful when you can't reach your doctor, but she's more than happy to educate about any birth-related topics as necessary. During the actual births, she was the calm in the storm. She helped me understand my options as they came, and made each experience - though wildly different from one another - something I can look back on and smile about. Having Tammy in our corner helped us feel confident and comfortable, knowing that our needs would be met and our wishes would be heard. She also helped me tremendously with some breastfeeding challenges I experienced with my eldest daughter, when she checked in with me 3 weeks post-partum. She actually came all the way up to my house in the Valley and helped me practice certain holds to help make it easier. I can't recommend her highly enough, and if I was ever to have a third child she would be the first call after we found out!
This testimonial is long overdue..I had my VBAC with Tammy in October 2015. She is simply amazing! If you want any of the following - a different or positive birth experience, a VBAC, a supporter, an advocate, a resource and/or dance partner during birth (she may charge extra for this after all the dancing I put her through during my labor ;))..look no further. She is all and everything everyone says about her in the testimonials. She is calm, extremely resourceful and really wants YOU to have the birth YOU want to have. She will suggest without being pushy and will stay neutral with whatever decision you want to make without being judgmental. If you are looking for a doula, she is the one to have by your side. She has a ton of experience and is genuinely passionate about her work..this is not a job for her but her calling in life to support and empower women during pregnancy/labor/birth/post partum. I honestly don't think I could have had my VBAC without her! Love this lady!
We honestly wish we would of hired Tammy to be there on our first son's delivery. I have two sons and their births are like night and day, which we thank Tammy for this. Since the first time we met Tammy we felt she was the right Doula for us, just her presence, voice and knowledge made us feel a sense of security and reassureness that no one would ruin what is suppose to be one of the most important moments of our life. Even though I had my baby at a hospital where most staff members didn't know what a Doula was and nurses are used to the same procedures-where natural deliveries without pain medication are rare, she made me feel comfortable and helped us achieve our birth plan of a non medicated natural delivery. We would definitely recommend Tammy Leeper.
Our experience with Tammy as our doula was everything I hoped for, and more! From the first meeting we connected and I could tell she would be a wonderful balance of cheerleader, educator and caregiver. She has so much knowledge and a multitude of resources to share when I or my husband had questions or concerns. She made herself available over email and text so I could ask questions even in the weeks leading up to our daughter's birth. when I went into labor she left it up to me to decide when to have her join us at the hospital. She stayed by my side the entire time, up until I was wheeled in to the OR for a cesarean section. Her encouraging words, support with advocating for my needs and gentle guidance when making decisions allowed me to have a very positive birth experience, even though elements of it we're different than I had hoped for. I would highly recommend Tammy as a doula to expecting mommies and would love to work with her again for the birth of our future child!
Tammy was amazing. I was skeptical when my wife suggested the idea of getting a doula, but she sold me on the fact that during labor I'll be a basketcase watching her in pain. That was true enough so I went along with the idea. Tammy earned her money during my wife's 22.5 hour labor and then some, but I'll get there in a moment.
One of my concerns was that the doula's would be "hippy dippy gronola" and anti drug and hospital, but Tammy was not like this. She was so knowledgeable about the drugs and tools invovled. The level of scientific background was a main reason we decided on using Tammy. It was clear that she knew her stuff and was able to answer all of our questions. Having such an informed consult was comforting.
Leading up to the birth, Tammy met with us several times to answer questions and was available throughout the pregnancy process to answer questions. She was invaluable when it came to the birth plan and deciding on what we had envisioned. It was ultimately thrown out the window, but a plan that can't change isn't a very good plan now is it? Our baby wanted to come out backwards and with her hand on her head. She seems to be one for dramatics. I hope not a sign of things to come, but we will see.
During the labor, Tammy was there and provided great support to my wife and I. She couldn't do much about the pain, but did help with things. She told me of the things she was going on and discussed options. We made all the choices, but she armed us with information. Most notably for me she was able to tell me what was normal. When we had to do the emergency C-Section, having her sit next to me while the wife was prepped for surgery was a godsend. I don't know how my mind would have run away from me in those moments. Comforting and supportive.
She's helped with lactation as well after the fact.
I highly recommed Tammy if you're considering a doula.
Tammy was invaluable during the birth of my son. During my pregnancy, she was a wealth of knowledge at our prenatal visits and was always available via text or email. I had planned for a natural birth, but due to other circumstances, I ended up with an epidural. Tammy helped me feel at ease with my decision, and for the rest of the labor offered so much support to both my husband and myself. She helped to keep me comfortable by massaging my back and legs, allowing me to gain some much needed sleep while laboring. She also helped to position my legs to keep good circulation and allow better positioning for my labor to progress more smoothly.
At times, my husband and I needed to make tough decisions, such as using Pitocin and breaking my water bag. Tammy helped us to see the pros/ cons of each choice, and worked with us to make the best decisions for our baby. She was our support the whole time, whereas nurses would come and go. When it came time to push, Tammy was right there encouraging me and assisting my husband in his assistance of me. With her insight, we tried a new pushing position, which I believe was the key in allowing me to birth my son vaginally.
Without Tammy, my labor could have gone down a much different road. With her presence, knowledge, and support I was able to have a birth that I am happy with. I highly recommend her doula services!
Tammy was sent directly from heaven!!! From the first time I met her I knew instantly I wanted her as my doula I didn't even bother to interview anyone else. She made me feel so comfortable and at ease.
I had a very long labor process. I went into early labor 5days prior to giving birth and everyday Tammy would reassure me to trust my body and that it was doing what it was suppose to. She calmed me in time of concern. Even prior to Labor she did more and beyond for me. When my husband wasn't around she reassured me everything would work out.
My husband who was skeptical at first about hiring a doula found Tammy to be of great help during my labor process. He would call Tammy directly when he didn't know what to do. He finally understood how important a doula is during birthing time, Tammy became our Shero.
I would call and text her at random times of the day, she wasn't even on call for my birth yet as I wasn't due for another 3weeks.
During my labor time she was amazing. Everytime she held my hands and told me to breath during a contraction she made me feel like I could make it through and I did!
She took great pictures and even helped me with breastfeeding my son within 5min of his birth!!!
My mother calls Tammy the baby whisperer, when she came over for my postpartum my son had been crying she held me and soothed him to sleep. She also showed me how to give him a bath. He cried the whole time until Tammy started washing his hair, he loved it! Tammy is amazing with babies.
I would recommend Tammy to everyone, she is outstanding. I found her on this site and interviewed her based on the reviews on here and I am so glad I did. She is the real deal!
My husband John and I are so happy with our first birth experience, aided by the fabulous Tammy Leeper. From the first time we met with Tammy, we felt a strong connection with her -- she is totally down to earth and very realistic. Most importantly, she really doesn't have an agenda, which was something I was worried about with a doula.
My birth "plan" included getting an epidural once dilated to 6 cm, and while Tammy was happy to share a lot of information with me about epidurals and how they can lead to a cascade of interventions that we may not wish to experience, she nevertheless comepletely respected and supported my desire to get one!
On the night of the harvest moon, when I was 40 weeks + 4 days, my contractions started and accelerated quickly. We'd planned to labor at home for a while, but things got going so fast that within an hour we were on the way to the hospital, and Tammy met us there. I was already 8 cm dilated and experiencing intense contractions. Tammy and my husband John worked together to guide me through the experience, providing encouragement and support and helpful back massage as I breathed through the contractions. I got my epidural and 5 hours later our son was born.
Throughout the experience, Tammy was cheerful and polite with the hospital staff while simultaneously making sure they were doing what they were supposed to be doing. At one point the monitor for our son's hearbeat had come disconnected and Tammy was the first to notice. She was an ideal advocate, firm but never adversarial. After the delivery, Tammy stayed with me for a few hours during my recovery, and the nurses clearly enjoyed her presence as much as I did -- she was chatting with them and helping to make the whole situation easier.
We will definitely call Tammy right away with our next pregnancy, and I look forward to spending time with her again! Thanks Tammy!
Tammy had been a godsent to me and my baby. We met last year during my second trimester and she went above and beyond assisting me in every possible way during my pregnancy and birth. I had a very tough personal situation and Tammy gave me lots of support I needed to help me make my pregnancy and birth the best experience possible. She was always there to talk to when I needed someone to lean on and she was an amazing doula during my delivery. Tammy's kindness and warmth made my pregnancy and birth the best experience ever! I am so thankful I met her and she made a world of difference to me!
So I think I might be one of the first Dad's to complete a review on Tammy? and I actually don't even like completing reviews, but Tammy was so incredible that I couldn't help tell you my thoughts. Tammy Leeper was absolutely crucial to the success of our little Hazel entering the world. Not only was her counsel increbibly sound, but it was also the way in which she conveyed her counsel that stood out the most. With a calm confidence and centered demeanor, my wife and I felt that, no matter how "successful" our birth plan was executed, that we (all three of us) would be okay....Whether it was explaining the mechanics of what was about to happen to my wife's body or simply just her rubbing my wife's back and feet during earlly labor, Tammy's presence was central to our understanding of the amazing process of child birth. When my wife was dozing off during labor (yes, apparently that is possible), Tammy sat right there with me answering questions, calming my fears, and even went and treated us to Starbucks (my version of an epidural). Looking back, I am amazed that she had the intuition to know excatly what we needed, and just as importantly, what we didn't need. My fear was that we would have some hippy doula that had some hidden agenda. She didn't. Here's the best part...her agenda was our agenda. She never interrupted our process. She enhanced it. She knew us. She knew what we wanted and she made it her goal to carry us through until the end. Dads who are worried Moms, and Moms who are worried about Dads, listen up...hire Tammy. Hire Tammy. Hire Tammy. We did, and we will again whenever Hazel becomes a big sister.
Thanks to Tammy, my son Arlo and I and our whole family are doing wonderfully! Arlo's nursing great! He gained 3 lbs. since leaving the hospital. He just started taking a bottle from my husband and pumping is going well. I'm so glad I had a doula. It's so true that having a good birth experience influences your experience afterwards and I'm so happy I did it without any meds. I really believe it truly helped me and Arlo and in turn everyone in our family.
I gave birth to my first baby at Saddleback hospital on Christmas day and Tammy was there to completely respect our wishes and ensure that we got the birth we wanted and deserved. Things didn't go all completely as planned, I ended up with an episiotomy and having Pitocin after delivery, but there was no pressure on me to do it any other way. Tammy helped me and helped my husband help me labor through without pain meds. She was always there for me to look to as an additional trusted support person and that made me and my husband feel comfortable with the decisions we made.
Having a baby is a huge experiene and after having gone through it, I can't imagine doing it without someone there to help. Even if you think you know and have a good relationship with your doctor, doctors aren't there for most of the time, and you never know how your nurse will be. Having Tammy there for me and my family was what made my experience as great as it could have been.
Tammy was fantastic for the birth of our first child. She was very informative as well as soothing. We particularly appreciated the way she helped to translate what the nurses were saying into language we could understand.
Tammy's post-partum care was really excellent too. I wound up having a pretty severe complication, and Tammy coming by after we were discharged helped us to identify it and get me to the hospital before things got worse.
Thanks for everything!
Gillian, Steve, and baby Warner
We hired Tammy during the second trimester, as she was recommended from a friend and we really liked her when we met her. She provided a wonderful stream of support and information throughout my pregnancy. She was readily available and I always had someone to talk to when needed, through email, text or home visits. As a first time mom-to-be, having a trusted source of information and positive support made all the difference to me. Tammy was present throughout most of my labor (21 of 26 hours!!!) providing me with encouragement, motivation and enthousiasm. She also provided a steadfast stream of support to my husband and made us both feel like we had an advocate and friend with us in the room. Tammy was calm and composed and explained what was happening at each step. I especially appreciate that Tammy didn't push any method during birth, but explained each step and allowed us to make our own decision. Her rapport with the nurses was great. She made our overall birth experience that much more special. We would highly recommend Tammy to anyone who is looking for a doula. She is continually seeking more knowledge to become a better doula, and it shows. Her energy is calm, yet strong. When my litle girl was born, my husband and I cried with happiness, and Tammy cried right along with us.
Tammy was a fantastic doula to work with and I look forward to working with her again in the future. I met with several doulas before deciding that Tammy would be the right match for us. Neither my husband nor I had any experience with the birthing process, so it was important for us to have someone who had been at many births and could serve as a calm presence. And Tammy was very much a calming presence. She is very knowledgeable and was able to help me understand what was going on. So many doctors and nurses came and went that having someone with her kind of knowledge always in the room made me feel very much at ease.
Prior to the birth, I thought that I would not need a doula myself (as I would be busy giving birth!), but I still wanted someone there to support my husband. Tammy was definitely a good match for my husband, both by being a calming presence and by being able to answer questions that my husband didn’t know how to answer. And, as it turns out, while I *was* busy giving birth, I still needed Tammy’s guidance and wisdom and I was very glad to have her there.
There was one particular moment when I was struggling with the labor and really needed an extra push to keep going. Tammy was able to talk me through it and together we figured out what I needed. From that point on, I felt much stronger and relaxed.
Finally, my due date was close to Christmas. And, as my luck would have it, I went into labor on Christmas. Tammy knew in advance that this was a possibility, and she never made me feel uncomfortable to be there on Christmas day with me. She was 100% available to me and my husband and I am truly grateful that she was part of our first birth experience.
Tammy was an irreplaceable part of my VBAC birth. I wanted a doula who could be both a caring support for me and also help us assert and defend our choices and desires. Tammy was enthusiastic and supportive of my desire to have a VBAC and as natural an experience as possible. I had an on-again, off-again labor for almost 3 days, and she continually assured me that everything would work out in its own time even if it felt confusing. When she came all the way out to OC to help me labor through one night and then my contractions slowed, Tammy never treated me like I was too much trouble and encouraged me when I felt low. She even went with us to the hospital just to make sure the baby was doing fine. Then two nights later, she met us at the hospital when my labor finally got serious again. When my previously laid-back doctor suddenly tried to put a time frame on my labor and I felt pressured to “progress” in order to avoid interventions, Tammy assured me that I didn’t need to perform to anyone else’s standard of time and reminded me that I had the right to decline any interventions. I knew this, but having someone in your corner supporting you when you’re exhausted is invaluable. Tammy constantly guided and helped me to relax and release my tension even with hospital noise and protocols happening around me. With my permission, Tammy used acupressure to naturally encourage my labor, and my contractions soon became closer together and stronger and my baby boy was born within 4 hours. Tammy was a wealth of knowledge and a steadfast supporter. In fact, I felt so supported and safe that I never even thought about getting medical pain relief, and the thought that this was a VBAC (and therefore a concern to the hospital staff) never even crossed my mind. Tammy was ready and able to help in any way I needed and was the constant voice of strength and encouragement in my ear that I will always recall when I look back at my son’s birth.
Tammy Leeper is not only a fantastic doula but a beautiful person. It was great getting to know her throughout our journey to parenthood! She offered great information and resources from the very beginning. What I appreciated about Tammy the most is that when virtually everything we had listed/desired on our birth plan went awry (epidural, c-section, etc) - she was supportive every step of the way. Her presence during my labor was so comforting and now looking back, I can't imagine having gone through it without her.
She also served as our post partum doula which was also a great experience. She assisted us with adjusting to our new life as parents in so many ways. Most importantly, for me, she really helped me to emotionally process everything that took place during my birth. Again, her support and encouragement was unwaivering and invaluable. I highly recommend her and her services!
We cannot say enough good things about Tammy as our Doula!
During our prenatal visits, she was always available to answer our questions and did a wonderful job educating us about our choices so we could make informed decisions.
With her companionship, I was able to stay focused and achieve the natural childbirth I always wanted. She was encouraging & reassuring to both me and my husband and always had a way to make us feel calm & safe.
Because of her, we had such a positive birth experience and will not hesitate to call her for the birth of our second baby.
We think Tammy is just wonderful and we were truly lucky to have her as part of our journey.
The Alvarez family.
Tammy was definitely my doula match. The greatest thing she did for me was to help me be physically and mentally prepared for the birth of my baby. She is extremely knowledgeable, and was able to answer all of my questions and address all of my concerns before, during, and after labor. She kept it real, and didn’t sugar coat anything. She supported my decisions, and I truly appreciated her professionalism as a doula. Even though my husband was unable to attend the birth, I was confident knowing that Tammy was available to support me. It was an awesome experience!
With her bright, soulful & welcoming eyes, we knew Tammy was the doula for us within minutes of meeting her! Tammy was flexible, supportive & just as excited as we were when well into my pregnancy we decided to have our baby at home! My husband & I initially questioned the need for the additional support a doula (Tammy) would bring since included in our homebirth plan was the presence of a midwife. But, we trusted our intuition which told us that Tammy was an important part of our experience & boy was she! After laboring for 24 hrs on our own, we knew it was time for Tammy! She was MY ROCK keeping me hydrated & well-massaged; guiding me through contractions to monitor my breath & tone, encouraging various positions and most of all staying by my side, smiling & gently supporting both my husband & I for well over 12 hours! The birth of our son is one of the most amazing experiences of our lives and Tammy helped us bring him into the world in a calm, gentle and loving way! Tammy's fairy wings must be hiding somewhere because she is a magical and priceless gift to have during your pregnancy and most importantly on the day you give birth!
Tammy was my doula for my homebirth last June and she was invaluable. Tammy is warm, compassionate, strong, and intuitive and basically everything you could want in a doula. She knew when I needed her, and she was there with me during 12 or so hours of active labor and pushing. When my labor slowed down and we were talking about maybe going to the hospital if things didn't shift in a couple hours, she was very encouraging and told me that I could do it. She was there with me while I tried to figure out how to push and felt out of control. She was amazing. And on top of that, she took some really nice photos during the actual birth and afterwards. I would recommend her 100% to any mama!!!
