Sarah an absolutely incredible support for myself and my family throughout the end of my pregnancy, birth and postpartum.  Sarah and Dani (the other half of the "Perinatal Embrace" dynamic duo) were professional, knowledgeable, passionate and kind throughout my time with them.  From the first communication I felt comfortable and at ease with them, as well as confident in their knowledge and experience.  While creating my birth plan, they were so awesome at sharing their knowledge, while at the same time making it clear that whatever I wanted for my birth was totally up to me.  I unexpectedly went into labour at 34 weeks and Sarah was there for me at the hospital within just a couple hours of letting her know what was happening.  After ensuring I was settled at the hospital and had everything I needed, Sarah and Dani maintained constant communication while I was admitted to the hospital for medication and monitoring.  After two days I was in active labour and as soon as I let Sarah know, she was on her way to the hospital immediately.  Sarah's presence was so comforting and made me feel calm and in control during the birth.  My baby was in the NICU for three weeks after birth and Sarah and Dani checked in regularly, allowed me to share updates and just vent if needed, but I never felt pressured to respond if I was overwhelmed or had too much on my plate.  I can't recommend Sarah (and Dani) enough!

We are so grateful for Sarah's support postpartum with our second child. Both our families live out of town and my husband wasn't able to take as much time off work this second time around so we ended up hiring Sarah.

Initially we thought we would only need her for 2-3 weeks but she was so amazing we ended up keeping her for 5-6 weeks, and joked if we could afford it we would keep her until the kids turned 18. She helped take care of the baby, meal prep, bring me food/drinks while I was nursing, laundry, cleaning and also was a great person to talk to and have around. She would jump in and know where to help if you didn't (aka newborn fog) and always stayed busy making the most of her time at your house. 

We are so grateful for our time with her and to have someone we trusted with our newborn. Highly recommend to anyone thinking about extra support postpartum!!

We feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to have Sarah help with the birth of our daughter. She was a huge resource and support for us before, during, and after birth.

As a husband I felt confident I could better assist my wife during childbirth (not the case for our first child) with help from Sarah. The birth went very smooth, we were able to work together to provide my wife with the support she needed. It was amazing to see her comfort, support, and encourage my wife throughout the process.

Sarah helped my husband and I prior to, during and after the birth of our daughter. She spent time ensuring we were educated about the signs of labour, positioning during labour and informed choice (ie: pain management options, episiotomy, creation of a birth plan, etc). She helped us through active labour by encouraging and coaching me as well as assisting my husband to feel confident in his ability to help me. She ensured our health care team was aware of my birth plan and helped me achieve my goal of an unmedicated water birth. She continued to provide post partum information (breast feeding, new born sleeping) and support to us after the birth of our daughter, which was very valuable. We are forever grateful for Sarah's expertise and highly recommend her to any one considering doula support.

Sarah helped me immensely in my initial days after the birth of my daughter.She is very resourceful and always knew where I wanted help with. She came to hospital as well and helped me to take shower after my C-section. She cooked a delicious and nutritious soup for me which lasted me for more than a week upon freezing. She also went for walk with me and encouraged me to walk after my surgery. She helped me in bathing my baby for the first week and helped me with laundry. I could not drive after the surgery for few days and she readily agreed to get some important things for us from the shops nearby. I am grateful to her for all the support she provided to me and my family.

Sarah was an incredible help to us after the birth of our second child. She not only provided advice and support with our newborn, she also provided invaluable help with our toddler who absolutely loves her!

She has the ability to anticipate exactly what is needed and step in to do it, like help out with holding the newborn, laundry, cooking, dishes, and making us snacks (I was always hungry because I was breastfeeding!)

She provided me support and resources for breastfeeding, and also looked up and provided resources for connecting with other parents, postpartum support resources etc.

Early on, she watched both of our children while my husband and I stepped out for a much needed coffee break which was very much appreciated. Another time, she cared for and entertained our toddler while we took our newborn to an appointment.

Sarah really went above and beyond, bringing delicious muffins and pancakes for us and our toddler. We felt so taken care of!

Sarah is knowledgeable, professional, friendly, empathetic and extremely capable overall.  We cannot recommend her enough!

My husband, our new born and I had the gift of Sarah's expertise for eight weeks, when our daughter was one month old.

Sarah’s compassionate and accommodating nature as a Doula sets her apart from many other professionals in the field. She is incredibly resourceful, patient, tender and understanding. She takes the time to learn about the child in her care and the family’s wants and needs. 

Sarah’s professionalism is second to none. She consistently brought forth a caring and positive attitude, allowing us as parents to feel at peace that our daughter was in very capable and safe hands. She was proactive in her planning, collaborative in organizing her schedule, and sought out the best community resources. 

Sarah is a tremendous asset to this profession. Her capacity to go above and beyond in supporting the families who have the privilege to work with her is everything a dynamic Doula should be.
