Words cannot describe how blessed I was to have Sara by my side during the birth of our son. I chose Sara about a month before our due date. She was such a sweetheart to meet with us on such short notice and put together our birth plan. I had  plans for a natural birth and we met as a family to go over how we would work together to acheive this.

Our baby was over two weeks overdue and Sara helped talk me through natural options for induction per my wishes. This helped move things along, however we did have to go into the hospital for medical induction 2 days before Thanksgiving. We started slow and Sara came in the next morning and stayed almost three days with us! Sara is the Mary Poppins of labor and delivery bringing a bag of supplies to help me stay calm, nourished, and feeling strong. Her and my husband worked seamlessly together between contractions to keep me comfortable. We were one big family together sharing laughter and tears as the marathon of our labor persisted. 

She missed Thanksgiving with her family to be by our sides. We tried to send her home on Thanksgiving to be with her family and she didn't even think twice about staying with us. If Sara was not there, I might still be trying to push out an OP baby! Her expertise saved me from having a c-section by directing a room full of practitioners to reposition our son for safe delivery. Immediately after our son was born Sara helped us make skin to skin contact and initiate his first latch. It was amazing having Sara's support in the postnatal period to help me exclusively breastfeed our son and check in on us. She is a true angel and her knowledge as a mother and years as a practitioner make for a great addition to the journey of childbirth and beyond.

Sara was fantastic during my birth and I absolutely could not have done it without her! Without her encouragement and expertise I would have definietly gotten a c-section and I am so glad that she was available to help with my birth so that I could go as natural as I had planned.

I am so proud that I was able to have a natural birth and get through all of the hype of birth being scary and painful. I love to know that I gave birth with clarity and that I am strong, patient, calm, and most importantly, I am a woman, and the birth of my child was the most natural thing my body was supposed to go through. What do I owe my success to? My own grit, knowledge, preparation, and above all, support; that is where Sara comes in. Do I feel as though I could have had a natural birth without Sara as my Doula? Probably, but would have I wanted to? Not in a million years. The moment I met Sara, I knew she had to be my Doula, she was calm; her voice just puts you at ease; and she provides you only with confidence in your birth. I didn't just have someone that was there for m  birth, Sara was there for every question that I needed an answer to, whether it was about the birth, healing, breastfeeding, vaccinations and health of my son once he was born, the list goes on. We formed a relationship that did not feel like a business. Her main goal is for you to have a successful birth and to be a successful mother. Anyone that I speak to that is looking to have a natural birth, I tell them I feel that having a Doula, the right Doula, is absolutely, hands down, the most important part. Even with a supportive partner by my side during labor and delivery, Sara being there made us both feel so incredibly comfortable, we never felt lost or worried, we could not picture ever having another child without her there again. Sara clearly loves what she does and provides nothing but the best service you could ever, ever, expect from your Doula. The amount of thankfulness and happiness that I feel for Sara is beyond words. She helped in achieving, what I feel is the most important goal in any pregnant woman's life, a beautiful, natural and healthy birth of their child. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Deciding to work with Sara was the most important and best decision I made for my pregnancy and birth. She was so attentive, thoughtful, supportive, and a very strong advocate for me in the hospital. She also empowered my husband to be a great support system. Through the use of hypnotic visualizations, singing mantras, massage and constant reassurance, Sara helped make my entire labor experience an amazing and beautiful journey. She stayed one step ahead of every one of my contractions and helped me to relax fully between them. She also really knew how to coach me through pushing. I believe I might not have had the courage to birth my baby completely naturally without drugs if it weren't for Sara. She is a great caregiver who brings a plethora of experience, wisdom, and grace to her work. Her calming energy and wonderful presence were crucial elements in my ability to birth my baby gently, without fear.

Sara not only took care of me and guided me with her expertise, but even more significant was her success at getting in there with my hosptial personel as I labored through my first VBAC birth. Sara's respectful yet authoritative voice on behalf of me in the hospital setting communicated to my midwife that I was in very experienced, knowledgeable, and supportive hands. This was important because Sara's confidence about my ability to birth my baby naturally and her non-threatening presence set the tone in the hospital room in my favor. Sara is an empathetic, understanding, non-judgemental, and caring woman. She has a deep soul and a deep respect for the birthing experience, the birthing mother, and the birth of the baby.
