Katie is a kind, attentive and inquisitive doula. She came to my home for a pre-labor consult and checked in before and after my prenatal visits. She was very present through text message in the days leading up to my induction and on the day of - and she was a calming presence on a high-anxiety day. She asked thoughtful questions to the nurses and physicians and consulted with me after each of their visits. She got to know me (and my husband) with entertaining conversation during the downtime and the quieter contractions. When I was experience more pain than I was comfortable with, she helped me advocate for a change to the pain medication and helped me with some massaging. She added to the excitement in the room when it was time to push and took some great birthing photos :) She stuck around for a while after my son was born to keep an eye on me and checked in a couple times throught the next day. She ended her "service" with another home visit to check in on me and my son a week after we came home from the hospital. It was a pleasure working with Katie!

Katie was personable and professional. She helped keep me calm (as calm as can be expected) during labor and assured me I could in fact "do this". She literally held my hand when requested and let me know what she was going to do before she did it. 10/10 recommend!
