Lauren was a godsend. I did not have the birth I envisioned. Not even close. And through every twist, turn, and complication, Lauren was there for me. She sat with me in the hospital when I was admitted. She helped me advocate for myself when I was pressured into making medical decisions I did not want. She did research for me to make sure I was making an informed decision. She helped me through some spinning babies exercises to try to get my baby to turn during labor. Unfortunately he didn't. She helped get my placenta from the medical team and got it to someone to encapsulate it after my emergency c-section. That saved me from what I knew would be a tough post-partum experience without it. Lauren was like a close friend with birthing experience, and I'd want her for any future births. You're making the right decision by hiring her.

We can not say enough wonderful things about Lauren! She helped to make our birth experience everything we hoped for and so much more! From being extremely responsive at all times and providing useful advice to get me through labor at every step, to guiding my husband with being in the right place at the right time and offering constant words of encouragement; she was our personal cheerleader and coach! We could not have had a more memorable and precious birthing experience. There was a chance that we might go into labor when she was unavailable due to preexisting plans and she made sure to have not one but two backups for us and that we were well-connected. Thankfully this didn't end up being the case and we were able to go about our original plans, which was wonderful, but the forethought and preparedness was much appreciated! Lauren had come to our home to help with labor before heading to the birth center and this was such a blessing - to be able to progress in labor in the comfort of our home. She knew all the right techniques to get my labor to progress quickly (which is exactly what I wanted). Lauren also provided a "pain comb" during labor and delivery which I did not let go of for hours; I had almost forgotten I was holding it for so long! She was also personable at all the right times and made sure she was giving us the birth experience we wanted. I had told her I needed distractions and conversation was the best way to do that, so we were fortunate to get to know her as an individual, not just as our doula, because of this! She was key in making our desired birth plan become a reality and we are so grateful! Thank you, Lauren! Anyone would be lucky to have her as their doula!
