We were referred to Sarayu by our close friends who birthed 2 babies with her services and we're glad we found her! Setting up an in person meeting with her was easy and also at our home which was more comfortable for us. First impression, Sarayu was so bubbly and friendly! She's very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions with ease. We were taught some techniques to help to relieve my back and hip pain while pregnant, she gave us all the tips and tricks to prepare us for labor and so much more information about her doula services. Very supportive of me wanting a natural birth and helped me create an awesome birth plan. Of course, once we got to the hospital things didn't go according to birth plan due to it turning into an emergency c section. Before the emergency, she was super helpful during contractions and laboring process. I don't think I would've gotten through it without her. Sarayu knew how to work along with the nurses and doctors, very hands on (gentle soft hands helped with back pain during labor). She made sure things were explained and clear to us parents. Reminded us that we were in control of the decisions to be made which was so helpful since the birth went opposite of my birth plan and we were overwhelmed. She 100% made things more calm for me as a first time mother going through the roller-coaster of birth. After the birth/surgery, she was there to check on us in the hospital right away with smoothies! We also received a home visit after the hospital. She's very kind and attentive to details. She gave me a lot of information I didn't remember from the hospital of what nurses and doctors were doing. Even with my birth going a different direction, Sarayu was there and helped every step and then some. She eased my worries and helped me enjoy my sweet baby boy. Overall, we recommend Sarayu to all families.

Sarayu was really supportive as a doula.  She made sure to talk with me about what I wanted for my birth plans.  I really appreciated her availability and the time she took to discuss the plans.  As a first time mother, I was nervous and had no idea what birth would be like, so knowing I had her in my corner gave me a lot of confidence. I was able to ask her questions about what would happen at the hospital and make some plans from that.  Things went smoothly overall in the end, and it was reassuring to know I had Sarayu in my corner.

At the birth, she did everything to set the atmosphere. She brought LED candles to make for a soothing atmosphere.  Logistically, she was there to help with whatever I needed, even things like helping with hip compressions.  She has a very warm, positive demeanor and this helped take away any stress or worry.  Sarayu is such a warm and caring person and I really felt cared for while she was around.

All the logistical details plus her moral support made for a very positive birthing experience for me!  I definitely recommend her for anyone looking for a doula!

My husband and I were hesitant about hiring a doula because we wanted our birth experience to be a special moment for just the two of us. With Sarayu as our doula, it turns out our birth experience was even more special! She worked behind the scenes to help us to follow our birth plan and allow my husband to give me 100% of his attention. Her hard work, helpfulness, and creativity made a long labor ending in an unplanned C-section still a positive memory for all of us.

My wife was in labor with our first child for about 38 hours.  I doubt my wife's birth experience would have gone half as well as it did without Sarayu as our doula.  Sarayu was with us from about 5PM on Thursday evening until after my daughter's birth at 2:30 AM on Saturday.  In that time, Sarayu was an invaluable part of the process.  

She assisted in everything from helping cleanup the house when we needed to rush to the hospital in the middle of eating dinner, helping me my wife get in to labor-assisting stretches and yoga poses, and even helping me hold my wife's legs while she pushed.  She brought a lot of knowledge and a calming presence with her.  When we were struggling with active labor and deciding whether an epidural was necessary, she was a great sounding board and supported our decision.  I wholeheartedly recommend Sarayu to anyone looking for a doula.
