Postpartum limits/restrictions: As your postpartum doula, my goal is to provide emotional, physical, and informational support to help your family thrive. However, there are a few areas where I set boundaries to ensure your safety and well-being, as well as my ability to provide the highest quality care: 1. Medical Advice or Diagnosis: While I am knowledgeable about newborn care and postpartum recovery, I am not a medical professional. I can offer evidence-based information and suggest when to consult your doctor, midwife, or pediatrician for medical concerns. 2. Heavy Housework or Childcare: My focus is on providing light household support, such as tidying common areas, preparing simple meals, and assisting with newborn care. Tasks like deep cleaning, laundry for the entire household, or full-time babysitting fall outside my scope. 3. Overnight Stays (if applicable): If overnight support is not offered in my practice, I would clarify this upfront. Instead, I provide guidance to help families establish restful nighttime routines. 4. Extended Services Beyond the Postpartum Period: My role is to support families during the postpartum phase, typically the first few months after birth. For ongoing childcare or long-term household help, I can provide referrals to trusted resources. 5. Availability: My availability is flexible, but I work within set hours to maintain my own balance and well-being. I’ll always communicate my schedule clearly so we can plan accordingly
