We had Kara help our family 1 night per week for 5 weeks. Kara was very flexible and communicative to our needs.

As a doula Kara’s experience as a nurse helps provide her incredible tips and guidance. She helped me through some lactation advice, diaper rash recommendations, general guidance, etc. It helped bring a sense of knowing and calm where I was previously was chaotically jumping down Google rabbit holes.

Kara is incredibly thoughtful. She would brining over treats or check-in before coming over to ask if we needed anything. She is extremely friendly, and easy to talk to in a way that lightens the room. Kara really just loves babies which made me feel very comfortable right from the start.

We highly recommend Kara’s doula services - she surpassed our expectations. We will use Kara’s help again in the future!

Working with Kara was amazing. I wish I had this type of postpartum support with my first child. She was caring and supportive, communicative and flexible, and super knowledgeable in all things baby and breastfeeding. When she helped us out at night, it meant I got extra hours of precious sleep. When we worked with her during the day, it meant my husband got a workout in without me being left alone with both kiddos. She brought over healthy delicious homemade food to help supplement what we were making, and she was so sweet with our toddler. She was also super helpful in figuring out how and when to introduce the bottle. I think the best part of working with Kara was how encouraging she is, and that I felt confident in the decisions I was making about our newborn. It's hard to make any decision on a few hours of sleep and Kara's knowledge gave us the confidence to rest easy!

Kara quite literally saved us. We didn't plan on hiring a doula at first. After having our second child via an unplanned C-section, our plans had changed. Since the very first moment of meeting Kara, all my worries about handing my newborn to a stranger disappeared. Her love for babies and dedication to support new parents are reflected in everything she does. Kara is not only amazing with babies, she makes sure new parents get much needed rest. She is very knowledgeable about breastfeeding, and provides support and encouragement in that area. Kara's professionalism, dedication and kindness eased our transition into a family of four.

Working with Kara was awesome! She supported us during the day a few times a week since our baby was 1.5 months. She was so good with my baby, playing with him and helping him nap well. She truly made my postpartum experience so much better. I could talk to her about my lactation challenges, my baby's sleep patterns, and she would make recommendations. Very welcome especially as a first-time parent. I'd work with Kara again in a heartbeat.

Kara provided wonderful tender loving care to our newborn and family during the first few months of my babies life. We felt completely confident and safe heading off to bed and letting kara take over with baby for the night. It was such a gift to be able to count on her for a good nights rest for us as well as wonderful care for our newborn. She was always on time and often came with a delicious home made snack or soup for us. We appreciate Kara and are eternally grateful for her time and energy. We highly recommend her doula services and have already recommended her to quite a few families.

I'm very thankful to have found Kara. Like many women, I initially struggled with breastfeeding. I struggled with figuring out how to get my baby to latch properly. It was very painful and I went straight to a bottle early on. Kara supported my decision but also encouraged me to keep trying. I took her advice of trying to latch my baby once a day, pump 7x daily to keep my supply up, and count to 20 each time my baby would latch. All of these tips kept me going and I'm pretty sure I would have given up without them. Now breastfeeding is one of the best experiences of my life and I am loving the bond it has created with my baby.

I am a first-time mom and I reached out to Kara a few weeks before my planned c-section to arrange for lactation/post-partum consultation once our baby arrived. My side of the family has a history of tongue ties/lip ties and general problems with breastfeeding and I was pretty anxious about the whole process in general. Fortunately, our son didn't have any specific issues but I was still very anxious and unsure about tons of questions (good latch vs bad, feeding schedules/amounts, holds, etc.) We received lots of advice while at the hospital but this was often different or conflicting based on the nurse.

When we finally met with Kara, it was like a breath of fresh air and felt like a huge weight was being lifted off of me. Her approach was very compassionate, clear, and supportive. She was super knowledgeable about breastfeeding (and feeding in general) and newborn care and gave me and my husband the clear guidance we needed in the early weeks of parenthood.

Kara has also been awesome about following up, checking in, and being available for quick questions.

So in short, I can't recommend Kara highly enough. (We've already let her know to be on the lookout for our second whenever he comes ??)

After a complicated pregnancy and delivery, I knew that I wanted night time support to allow me the proper time to heal and recover from birth.  We feel so fortunate to have found Kara to work with during this delicate post partum time period.  She is one of those warm people that immediately put you at ease and make you feel comfortable.  She is a nurse and a mom of two, loves babies, and taking care of others.  She is very knowledgeable and also 100% supportive and non judgemental which is so important when emotions and hormones are running high.  I felt completely confident that my baby was in great hands and I would recommend her to anyone looking for post partum help.  Oh, and she knits tiny baby clothes, takes great photos, and leaves yummy and nutrious snacks.  She's the best!
