I truly can't say enough great things about Julia. She's a deeply altruistic, compassionate person who operates in her profession with a tremendous amount of integrity. Her work ethic is insane, she stayed with me and my partner and mom from the start of labor till after our daughter got here. She's deeply empathetic, and implemented the perfect mixture of providing practical support while also not trying to "fix" any of the many challenges that came with my delivery process. She never tried to change my feelings about how hard something was about labor, and  was deeply empathetic to how difficult the whole experience was while also infusing hope into the atmosphere of the whole labor and delivery process. She held up my entire body during the epidural process and walked the halls of the hospital with me for hours to get the baby into the right position and move labor along. She got me snacks, drinks, answered my partner's questions, brought me pain management and  comfort supplies that were a game changer, took pictures, talked to hospital staff on my behalf when I was frustrated about their approach to support, and gave me hours of massages during the whole labor. There was nowhere for her to sleep and she never yawned or complained even though she totally could have, she was so nonjudgmental, calm, and supportive towards our family the whole time. She brought me the most thoughtful presents when we got home, and has provided so much support with chestfeeding and a million other postpartum and newborn things. Our family loves Julia, you could not pick a better doula.
