Over the past 28 years, I had the honor of helping to launch and grow the doula movement in the Boston area, and throughout the US and Canada! For seven years starting in 1995, I was Assistant Director of ALACE (now ToLabor), the first national training program for doulas. During my tenure I was the organizer of trainings that resulted in the creation of approximately 2,000 doulas across North America. In 2009 I published “The Doula Guide to Birth” with Penguin Random House, which can be found in our local library system or requested at any bookstore. I am the organizer of a series of monthly, free classes on Zoom, on topics including childbirth preparation, lactation, pregnancy massage, becoming a grandparent, and more.
