We cannot thank Monique enough for all she did for our family during the first 5 months of our daughter (Rosie)'s life.  Monique came into our lives as a postpartum doula when Rosie was 2 weeks old and we were in desperate need of help.  As first time parents we were incredibly anxious and overwhelmed.  Monique was there for us through all of it.  We could rest at night because we knew Rosie was in safe hands with Monique.  She sat down and helped us make tough decisions regarding breastfeeding and other nuanced issues that come up in parenting. During these conversations her extensive knowledge, compassion, and support were invaluable.   Even when she wasn't physically with us she was always just a phone call or text message away.  This came in especially handy when Rosie was struggling with pain issues due to complications from her birth and we had no idea how to comfort her.  During our time with Monique we laughed, cried, and made it through those tough first months one step at a time.  Her involvement in Rosie's initial months of life gave our little girl a great start to life in a secure household with lots of love.  This is in stark contrast to how we were flailing and struggling significantly when we first brought Rosie home.  Working with Monique also gave me the confidence to trust my instincts and learn how to be the mom I want to be.  In our eyes she is a member of our family and we feel beyond lucky to know her.  If we have a second child we will definitely request to work with her if she is available.

I cannot recommend Monique enough! She provided hands-on support throughout my pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum. She is reliable, knowledgeable, compassionate, open-minded, patient, and helpful.  She shared great insights, provided many tools and strategies, and was incredibly attentive to my needs at every stage. She was readily available if I had questions or needed a soothing chat. When my labor began she immediately came to my home and was ready with different positions, massages, and use of the yoga ball to soothe my pain. Once my labor progressed and we made it to the hospital she stayed by my side and kept my mood positive and calm by explaining everything that was happening. During postpartum, she was supportive in helping me take care of my newborn son, supplied warm meals (makes an excellent chorizo soup!), and helped with housekeeping. As a single mom, I felt more confident and secure having her around. I couldn't imagine the experience without her. If you're looking for a doula, I highly recommend Monique. I would love to have her again!
