I contacted Adara pretty late in my pregnancy, around 36 weeks I believe. I was on the fence about having a doula after talking with three other doulas. I was hoping to feel a strong "yes" intuitively with someone, and Adara was that person for me. From our first discussion I could tell she was well informed, passionate, strong, and empathetic. She was a great support for me as a first time mom hoping to have a low intervention birth in a hospital setting. My birth went really well, and although it didn't go entirely as planned, I feel really good about the decisions I made along the way. Adara was really good at reading the room and fit seemlessly in with my mom and husband, who both adored her. When my labor was very intense, Adara took the lead in supporting me and also helping my husband to do so. I didn't have to worry about trying to recall positions or pain management techniques. I could just be present and get through each moment. I am so glad she was there, and I certainly recommend her to other mamas. She also provided great support prenatally and postpartum, and is just a delightful human. My family is very grateful for Adara, and I can't wait to tell my beautiful baby boy about her someday!

Adara was an amazing coach during my birth experience and I would choose her again for a future pregancy if I have one. When I birthed my first child, I felt a little lost on how to work through contractions because of some miscommunication at the hospital. Despite working with a midwife, I did not feel like I had a coach who was able to tell me how to manage labor because the midwife didn't show up until nearly the end of labor.

When I became pregnant with my second child, we contacted Adara and she was a perfect fit for us. I appreciated that she came to our house for prenatal visits. She even gave me books to read that put me in the right mindset on having a natural birth at the hospital. When the time came for my second child to be born, Adara was available and ready to meet us at the hospital. Labor this time around was harder for me as I was more exhausted due to lack of sleep. Adara though showed me techniques to use to work through contractions and how to rest some as well. Adara assured me that being in the bathtub would help with contractions and it did. I ended up having a water birth which surprised me. My son came quickly after my water was broken and I got in the tub. I had thought previously about having a water birth but was afraid of the what it would be like because I don't do well with seeing blood. Adara gave me the extra assurance of how being in the water would help with pain and I am grateful that she guided me. I felt like being in the water lessen the pain and relaxed my mind. I am now proud to say I had a water birth for my son and that I had a safe and healthy delivery.

I would definitely recommend Adara.

We found Adara on Tricare's website. She is affordable and very knowledgeable!!! After meeting with her we knew she was a perfect fit for our family and our birth plan! She was amazing with my LONG labor! We could not have done it without her!!! At our postpartum visit she brought us a dinner and dessert she made for us, which was amazing!!! We are very lucky and blessed to have found her!!! We highly recommend her for everyone!!!! Thank you again Adara!!! You're amazing!!!

I feel so lucky to have been supported by Adara. I'm a first time mum. I had a very detailed birth plan including hoping for an unmedicated birth and I needed a strong support person and advocate. I was lucky that my doctor recommended that I get a doula. Adara and I vibed really well right away and I knew she would be the right doula for me. You labored at home for 48 hours and Adara supported me at home for the last 7 hours of that labor- she helped me breathe, change positions, use the ball, used counter pressure and hip squeezes, reminded me to eat and stay hydrated. When we went to the hospital, Adara was by my side the whole time. She helped me labor until I was in quite a lot of pain and requested nitrous. The nitrous was enough of a stress relief that I reached the stage of pushing. At that point I did get the epidural and she helped with some position changes until I delivered my beautiful baby girl. Afterwards she stopped by with a warm meal and brownies- it was such a caring and generous gesture. I recommend her very highly. ??

Adara was not my original doula. My water broke at 39 wks and my doula wasn't feeling well, so she connected me with Adara. I was so grateful that Adara was able to step in and support me, especially because this was my first birth and I knew I needed that extra support. She had me try all kinds of different positions and encouraged me to keep moving during labor, all while providing me with hip squeezes and counter pressure. She even brought battery operated tea lights for ambiance. After the baby was born she provided some breastfeeding tips and said we would follow up in a few weeks. She was incredibly kind, encouraging, and helpful to me during the whole process. She has a sweet and gentle presence. I highly recommend her!!

Adara was an absolute joy and essential part of our first natural birthing experience.

I was very impressed with her preparation and the value she provides from the jump. Our first meeting was all about preparing and expectations for ourselves and her. We also assembled a birth plan together which is invaluable when the baby is coming and it's crunch time. Finally, We worked on movements and manipulations to aid in pain relief during labor.

When we called her for early labor she was prompt and cordial. She took walks with us, talked with us, watched Harry Potter with us, and stayed with us for a good six hours until my wife's contractions ended at 5AM at which time she returned home. She made us both feel very comfortable and safe to call her at any time for anything (even if the baby didn't end up coming that night).

Two nights later, it was go time.

My wife and I called Adara and then sped to the hospital 20 minutes away. Adara was there waiting for us. She helped my wife and I during delivery by asking Kimmie the right questions, helping with breathing, and pain relief, but thankfully, the delivery was so rapid we didn't have time to go through many of those exercises and techniques.

After birth, Adara was invaluable.

She was able to stay with my wife and ensure she was feeling ok and being taken care of while I was able to follow our baby over to the warmer where they were raising her oxygen saturation. Adara was able to ensure my wife got the attention she desperately needed and deserved after going through such a rapid birth which made me comfortable to go and be with baby.

After everything calmed down, she congratulated us and went on her way. She will visit baby tomorrow! I highly recommend Adara to anyone looking for a great Doula!

My experience with Adara was fantastic. This was my third birth, but my first natural birth. Adara gave me the confidence mentally before hand and during labor-which is half of the battle. Knowing I had her there and having her knowledge in pain management was another reason I was able to get through a natural birth. Her calm and strong patience is exactly what I needed. My husband wanted to be as involved as possible, so she instructed him on everything he needed to do to help me. It was great to have another person there who is advocating for your birth plan. The nurses had to take my baby at first to check her, and my husband was able to go with the baby while Adara stayed with me. it was a wonderful experience all around.

There is so much to say about our experience with Adara, it cannot possibly fit into one review. I originally wanted a doula due to the fact that I had no prior knowledge of who the provider would be to deliver my daughter and I wanted to have someone who knew and understood my preferences and someone I was comfortable with. That is exactly what Adara turned out to be for us. I interviewed three different services and companies and landed on Adara in the end. She was someone who we got to know and trust over the few months before my daughter arrived. Adara tailored her services to things I was curious to learn and the extra prenatal visits were so helpful in feeling prepared for an unmedicated birth that I wanted. Having Adara with me the whole labor and delivery (almost 29 hours) was so instrumental in getting me through unmedicated and helping me make difficult choices in the end. Without a doubt, if we didn't have Adara with us through this process it would not have been such a wonderful experience.

I am so glad I hired Adara! Without her my birth would have been so different. During contractions, she would move quickly to put counter pressure on my back/hips which was amazing. She knew many different exercises and techniques to help me progress, and she was motivating during labor to get me up and doing them. She stayed through the whole labor (which was only around 12 hours, but she says she will stay for the whole thing no matter how long) and was there for me through it all. I am so grateful for what she does and as I said before my birth wouldn't have been as great without her. I would most definitely recommend her services!

Adara was amazing and provided me with support through my whole pregnancy! She was super helpful and informative. She helped with my specific needs so I felt comfortable and prepared for my birth. I don't know what I would have done without her!

Adara was the back-up for my scheduled doula, and my husband and I were not disappointed! My labor was extremely long, and we have no idea how we would have gotten through without her. She was so encouraging and supportive through the whole thing, with great ideas on how to help make me comfortable and positions for me to try to help the baby descend. I really surprised myself with how well I handled labor, and I give Adara a lot of the credit for that. My husband and I now tell all of our friends that they need to get a doula!

Adara provided amazing assistance in the birth of my daughter! She was with me and my partner the whole time during the 36 hour labor process and provided a calm, reassuring presence that I needed as a first time mother. Adara was so helpful with laboring positions and breathing techniques. She reminded me when I needed to reduce the tension in my body. Talking with her throughout the labor helped provide the distraction I needed instead of focusing on pain and anxiety. Adara provided me with the support I needed when navigating choices in my birth plan and those that I decided pursue that were not part of my birth plan. She was so helpful to my partner as well, assisting in ways to teach him how to best support me. We both are so thankful for her presence at the labor and delivery and would hands down recommend her to anyone looking for a doula!

Adara stayed by my side throughout the long process of birthing our son for almost 36 hours after induction. I immediately liked her the moment i saw her, even before the birth she took me to hospital appointments, she was always ready to assist and answer all my questions.  She was cheerful, encouraging, supportive, and have a loving voice that still resonates in my being. At a time when i was so discouraged and giving up she created joy, strength and love. She empowered my husband to rise to his best by my side.
After we left the hospital she stayed in contact with myself and my husband, she set up a meal train and it was amazing how we have food in abundance and don't have to cook for some couple of weeks. The most captivating aspect is how people raised funds from this meal train to support us.
Adara was a wonderful support during labor.  She also went above and beyond after the birth to make sure we were settled in at home and that I'm doing okay emotionally.  We truly felt like she shared our joy at the birth of our son, and are so glad she was a part of that incredible experience. Thank you so much Adara.
