Kali is exactly the combination of support that I needed for my birth.  Kali has a background as an EMT so she is well versed in the medical jargon and procedures that are used when having a baby.  She is also well versed in other natural solutions that really helped for those problems pregnant women suffer with where there aren't a ton of pills you can take (hello insomnia!).  

I had an extremely tough birth/postparatum with my first child and needed someone who could help me be an informed advocate for myself as well as an emotional support system in the tough times with this second one.  I definitely screamed "I can't do this anymore!" towards the end of my labor and Kali with there to hold my hand and tell me I could! 

Kali was extremely supportive during my pregnancy and was a fiercely protective partner for both me and the baby. She offered to come to my appointments to talk to the OB when they weren't listening to my situation and just seeing me as a stereotype.  She was there for every second when I was in labor (almost 48 hours!) and was extremely supportive even after when we had some colic/gas issues.  She completely saw me as a person who was having a child instead of a vessel for the child to grow in and consistently reminded me to make sure I focused on my needs instead of just my family's and the baby's needs.  

I needed someone who could speak up when I couldn't and validate that the situation was expected or abnormal.  I needed some support while in labor (my husband looks to me to ask for the support I needed and I surely was in no state to provide that guidance to him). I needed reminders for the things that I heard but didn't internalize. Kali was all of those things and more! 

If I was going to have a third child, the first thing I would do is hire Kali again.

Kali was recommended to be by a close friend that used her for her birth. I am so thankful for that introduction. Kali held me and my husband’s hand through pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. She helped us become educated and feel prepared leading into labor. If I had questions or concerns she was always a phone call away.

She was a calming presence during my long labor and ensured I was informed and in control of decisions as my labor progressed. I am incredibly thankful to have had Kali on my support team in aiding me in having a positive birth experience! I cannot recommend her enough!

I enlisted Kali as my doula for my second pregnancy with my twins. I can hardly put into words how much my family appreciates her! She helped me first figure out what I wanted for myself and my babies as far as pregnancy care and birth plans, then helped me advocate for myself when needed. She provided me with so much information to make informed choices and was a soundboard as I weighed my options. Even though she was assisting virtually I don't think she could've done anything more if she were right in front of me. The comfort she brought was great, if there was ever a question I had she would always find me some resources so that I can read and understand on my own not just word of mouth, she supported my partner and included him and heard his concerns or questions, and so much more. I could go on and on about her and how much she means to our family. This was my second pregnancy and second time hiring a doula, and Kali truly set the standard. I thought I had good support the first time but it was nothing compared to what Kali brought to the table. She will forever be my recommendation to any mom or family looking for support no matter how they plan to birth. I'm a young mom and that can be taken advantage of at time but I fully give credit to Kali and the information and support she provided for me being able to birth my twins at home the way I wanted. Can't thank her enough!

How do I even begin to express the gratitude for Kali and her services.  My husband and I discussed before I was pregnant that this time around, we would get a doula and I’m so blessed we were able to do so, let alone find Kali!  We interviewed Kali when we were 2 months pregnant and during the consulting appointment, she was very detailed in explaining her several years of experience, for which we appreciated.  After hiring Kali, throughout our entire pregnancy she would reach out frequently to see how things were going if she hadn’t heard from us in a few weeks.  Fast-forward to my third trimester, because both first & second went by smoothly, I started having issues with my blood pressure and was diagnosed by my 31st week with preeclampsia, throughout the entire process Kali kept us informed on what the doctor would potentially suggests, as well as provide guidance, but ultimately following suit to what our needs and preferences were.  I ended up delivering my baby early right before the 36th week and Kali was right there for support.  I love how while I was in labor, she would also discuss things with my husband to make sure he was okay as well as answer any questions he had on our situation as things progressed quickly while unexpectantly being admitted to the hospital.  Anyway, we HIGHLY recommend Kali as your doula and are so thankfully for her guidance in getting our baby girl Denver here safely!  Even after delivery, Kali supported my efforts for breastfeeding and helped with providing recommendations for the best pumps to use for success.  She’s the best!

My husband and I are so grateful we found Kali to be our doula! We highly recommend her. She was very supportive and knowledgeable. I had no issue putting my trust in her. She went above and beyond for us multiple times. I could not thank her more. She was able to step in as my support person during a couple of doctors visits while my husband was away for work. She was such a wonderful support during my labor that even the OB and nurses made comments about how much they loved her. She even supported us in the operating room during my c-section. My husband had to go to the NICU to be with the baby while I was being stitched up and she sat by my side and comforted me so that I wasn't alone. I'm beyond thankful that we had her support and expertise. We would have been lost without her. I found a wonderful doula and friend in Kali. I hope she's available when I have my next baby!

A person that has a true passion for birth work and will support a pregnant woman mentally, emotionally and spiritually all to make a change and show the strength of a woman in such a vulnerable state. Choosing Kali as my doula was one of the best decisions I have ever made. She is so knowledgeable about the birth process, a fierce advocate, and empathetic to her core. I am a physician, and  her years of experience and understanding of the birth process impressed me and  provided comfort that I was in good hands. She listened carefully and completely to understand my wishes. She never pushed her own agenda on me. She helped me find my own voice, but I knew that if I could not speak up for myself she would advocate for me. She coached my husband to support me during labor. This was HUGE, because it helped give him the confidence he needed in the delivery room. When we had our first consultation I felt that she was someone I wanted on my labor team and I was not disappointed. She also supported me via text during postpartum complications. Having her there helped me to get life saving treatment. I cannot say enough about her as a person and a doula. Her services are worth every penny and more.

2 months ago i gave birth to my 4 child and the experience was very different then my other 3 births. Having Kali on my team as my doula was fantastic and so beneficial. She is such a beautiful soul. Her voice is so calming. She treated me with so much respect. We laughed so much i felt like we were family. Giving that calming and comforting feeling helped me to be open with her throughout my pregnancy. She had to often remind me that she is professional so theres no need to be shy about anything. Kali provided me virtual services but i always felt like she was in my home with me. She told me ways to not only get my husband fully involved but also my older children. She was so powerful in her teachings that as im in labor at home, my at the time 4 year old daughter was my mini doula. She reminded me to breathe and praised me thru and after each contraction. She stayed by my side thru it all and was even ready to go to the hospital when i said its time. My husband says Kali showing him techniques to help when im in labor came in handy. He was happy to have learned the hip squeeze method to help with labor pains. And he is thankful she got him involved because he didnt feel so helpless thru the pregnancy. I called Kali at 5am her time and she was alert and with me every step of the way even  calming my husband as he drove, thru the last stages of my labor, the birth of my son, even after. I know for a fact i wouldnt have had such a great experience with my pregnancy if it wasnt for Kali and her services. I share my experience with her to anyone willing to listen. Kali really woke me to so much i didnt realize i had went thru with my previous pregnancies that i was not okay with for my last one. She helped and taught me how to advocate for myself. I was so thankful for the knowledge Kali gave me to see i needed to change my dr and my team so i can have a great experience. I highly highly recommend Kali as a doula, even virtually.

Kali was everything we could have asked for and more. Though we didnt connect until my second trimester, she showed up at the time we needed her most. I am now a new mom of twin boys and did not have the support of my family throughout my pregnancy as a young mom. From the day we matched, Kali offered the support and guidance I was lacking. Despite my doubts about stepping into the role of motherhood, Kali consistently reminded me of my power and my strength to become the best mother for my boys. Kali remained very flexible with me, prioritized my wishes and taught me the important lesson of being able to advocate for yourself while navigating the health care system in America, especially as a black woman. Kali embodies the true role of motherhood herself. Despite the many potential risks of a twin pregnancy, Kali had the personal and the professional experience to help me make the best informed decisions for the health of me and the babies. My experience with Kali was one of the best from the time that I met her to the time I walked in that delivery room I learned so much information about pregnancy that I never even knew and I have six kids already The biggest thing she taught me was how to feel empowered and speak up for myself throughout this whole pregnancy and my body my choice and that if I don't want something done or if I don't like something that it doesn't have to be done and it's okay to say no  that's was very important to me because you want to feel like that you are control of your body and the choices that you're making to bring your baby into the world so that way you have the best birth experience ever and make sure yu are feeling heared of what it is you want because it's your birth experience nobody else's  she gave me all the knowledge and courage that I needed to get throughout this whole pregnancy and get my baby here safe and stre free she was very informational and whenever I needed her she was there I knew that I could count on her and that's very important and it was the best connection in the world she was heaven sent

We hired Kali in our 8 month of pregnancy. She came highly recommended from a friend of mine. I am so glad that I hired Kali as well. She was there during my pregnancy and delivery.  I had experienced false labor for many weeks before my due date and was struggling. Kali kept in touch with me daily and helped me monitor my symptoms. I had a difficult delivery and Kali was there helping me through it. She is positive, encouraging and patient. She will also be direct and tell you what you  need to hear. I would encourage anyone looking for a doula to get to know Kali and you will be sure to hire her!

My sister in-law gifted us doula services from Divine Peace Doulas LLC and it was the best gift that we could have asked for. Kali supported my brother and sister in law through their birth of my nephew so I heard nothing but good things about her from them. This was our first baby after 2 losses. I was filled with so much fear and anxiety due to my history and the information that I had researched didn't help either. I found it so difficult to just be happy during this pregnancy at the beginning of my pregnancy, so many decisions needed to be made without any knowledge.

We met Kali when I was 15 weeks pregnant, she was a saving grace to us, working with her was such a smooth transition, she is very knowledgeable, intelligent, graceful but also firm. She was armed with unlimited evidence-based information about everything that we asked, and the experiences that she has witnessed or encountered it's like she is a walking problem solver for pregnant moms and their families. Her childbirth education class was so efficient that it truly prepared us for the birth, labor and postpartum that we wanted. She helped build my confidence and that of my husband who was my partner during the whole process. We went into our birth space feeling empowered, we had an empowering birth and postpartum experience.

We are so happy that Kali was our doula, she held my hand, wiped my tears, massaged my back, danced with us, walked with us, fed me, kept me hydrated, and made sure that my husband was ok when he was tired. I can't list all of the things that she did for us. I promise you that Kali is a pro at her job and anyone that is looking for a doula would benefit tremendously with Kali on their care team. She believes in you, your partner and your one of a kind birth experience. I have referred Kali to my cousin and my bestfriend. Kali we can't thank you enough for all of your love and support!

I feel so grateful to have met Kalisha when I was pregnant with my first child. She is a wonderful doula who made the experience calming and comforting. Kali is also flexible, generous, compassionate, and wise. Her skills are perfectly matched to serving women who feels hopeless about making informed decisions and planning their ideal birth. For example, when I shared my birthing plan, she gave me informative details of what to expect and ways for preparation. These information not only made my birthing experience easier but inspired me to proceed. During my birth labor, Kali helped me through the contractions by offering recommendations to ease my mind and relax, which was helpful. She also helped my midwife and birth assistant with my delivery with being sure that my son and I were healthy and active. During my postpartum, Kali gave a electric copy of handouts for breastfeeding and checked up to see how I was adjusting to my baby. Kali was a tremendous help and a great resource throughout my pregnancy, labor, and during my recovery. Kali not only offered a lot of support and advice to myself but also my husband. She answered every question we had and even the ones we didn't even think to ask. She was an amazing support person and focused on ensuring I received the most appropriate care, in addition to making sure our care team followed my birth plan (as best as they could).   My husband and I hired Kali as our Doula for a VBAC because she came highly recommended by another doula. This said so much about her character and expertise in our eyes before meeting her. When we had our consultation with Kali, she was very patient and wanted to know about us, what we were trying to achieve and that she was confident that she could help us achieve our goals. It was at that moment we had made up our minds that Kali would be our VBAC Doula if she had space for us. After interviewing other Doulas we decided on her. We asked her if she still had space for our due date, she said yes and we signed up. Kali provided our private Childbirth Education and Lactation lessons. It was such a breath of fresh air to have no one else in this space with us, especially during Covid. Kali answered every text, email, and call in a timely manner, never making us feel like she didn't have time. She helped my husband and family give me the support that I needed for such an important task of having my VBAC. During my labor, she came to my house to assist me with the comfort measures. She turned me in so many positions to get labor moving naturally, she made sure that the hospital staff respected our family. Kali was calm, professional, assertive when necessary to assist us in advocating for our wants and needs. Kali taught us early on about all of our options and helped us use every available tool at our disposal. Kali worked well with the hospital staff to the point that I was able to deliver my baby on hands and knees at the hospital. Kali is the posterchild of what doulas looks like. The knowledge and grace that she exudes are invaluable, to say the least. We have recommended Kali to everyone that has told us they're expecting. We highly recommend her service just as she came highly recommended from another doula. If you are looking for a doula to honor, you, your space, and your family, Kali would be the best addition to your birth team.

Kali assisted me and my husband with preparing for labor, creating a birth plan, practicing comfort techniques, and she was able to virtually attend my birth (virtual due to covid restrictions). I'm so glad we chose Kali as our doula - I would absolutely chose her again and recommend her to others. Throughout my pregnancy, she regularly checked in with us about challenges we were facing. She helped me with comfort techniques in my last trimester when I was particularly uncomfortable and tired. In preparing for labor, she shared knowledge that reflected the combination of her medical background and doula experiences, she described a variety of possible situations and outcomes and helped us understand what to expect. She also helped me through emotional support and was always available to talk things through whenever I felt anxious. She was professional and flexible when it came to scheduling meetings and phone calls. When I needed an emergency induction, Kali advocated for our best interests and helped us understand what was happening the entire time we were at the hospital. She remained calm and confident and brought a warm presence to a scary situation. After birth, she continued to check in with us and the baby, and even gave us advice about breastfeeding and other first-time-mom concerns. Throughout pregnancy and labor, she also worked well with my husband, giving him specific advice and helping him to grow more confident in his role as my support and partner. Kali is a kind, knowledgeable, passionate and supportive doula.

We hesitated about hiring a doula. Reflecting on the pregnancy, labor, delivery and postpartum, hiring our doula Kali King was our best decision. Kali made us feel calm and confident. From the start, she got to know us personally and our birth preferences. Kali is very responsive and an excellent communicator. She suggested questions for prenatal visits and helped explain conditions identified by our provider as common or unusual. 

Kali excels in a crisis. As an expecting Mom, I was admitted to the hospital for preterm labor at 28 weeks. Kali immediately explained what to expect in the hospital. Kali’s knowledge about procedures and potential outcomes helped us manage hospitalization stress. She engaged in nurse and doctor conversations, clarifying items we had not considered and counseled me through anxiety.

Weeks later, at delivery, Kali helped us remember the last minute to-dos. During labor, she coached us through comfort measures. Kali worked well with nurses and doctors and initiated different positions to progress labor. We also hired Kali for postpartum hours and highly recommend this additional service. The first few weeks with a newborn are hard, even in the best circumstances. Having Kali’s expertise for a few hours (or better, a whole night, so you can sleep) is invaluable.

As an expecting Dad, Kali provided Natalie with the patient advocacy she needed to help her feel secure. Although Kali is not a doctor, having an experienced childbirth expert to translate the severity of an option or diagnosis, or mostly reminding you what is normal, is super helpful. Kali helped me figure out how to be helpful to Natalie and the baby before, during and after delivery. Kali also made sure I got my rest, which partners who are not delivering tend to forget. Understanding the vast information flows was our biggest hurdle. With Kali, we overcame that effortlessly.

My husband and I recently worked with Kali for the birth of our first baby and couldn't recommend her more! From the very start we had such a wonderful experience. Kali met with us prior to birth and thoroughly went over everything we needed to know and all the choices and preferences we had for our birth plan which was so helpful as first time parents. Leading up to delivery she would check in and answer any questions we had and provide resources if needed. The start of our delivery was somewhat stressful after finding out I needed to be induced immediately following an OB appointment but Kali was a calming presence that walked us through it. During delivery is where she shined the most! She worked seamlessly with the rest of the birth team at the hospital, was SO calming and encouraging, provided lots of helpful knowledge, and ultimately was a fierce advocate watching our for the well-being of baby and I. Kali actually recommended the final pushing position that got baby out! We loved our experience and will definitely work with her in the future as we hopefully grow our family!

We are so grateful for Kali's support, guidance, and care before, during, and after the birth of our daughter. We are first time parents and Kali helped my husband and I feel prepared and educated prior to our hospital birth, and was beyond helpful in preparing our birth plan.  She was also an asset to my pain management and coached me through the entire experienc as I labored without pain medication.  Kali was open to all our hopes for birth and supported us when our original plan needed to change.  Kali helped me come to accept the need for a C-section birth when our daughter's heartrate was struggling and her love and support was exactly what I needed at that time.  One thing I appreciate more than anything is how Kali continuously checks on our family in the weeks post birth and is always available for questions.  Thank you Kali!!!

We are so grateful that we decided to work with Kali to support our family through the birth of our daughter. With Kali's support, our birth went according to our hopes and dreams. She guided us through the experience from contractions in early labor in the middle of the night, through making decisions about when to contact our midwife, partnering with our providers, and then guiding us through each phase of labor from our home to the birthing center. Kali kept us calm and grounded throughout an intense experience. She was regularly checking in with me (the birth parent) about how I was doing, what I needed, and what I wanted to do. She was adamant that I would be in charge of the decisions surrounding my labor, which was important to me. She also helped my husband by coaching him on how to support me and keeping him grounded, too. We achieved a birth in alignment with our birth plan and were able to start our lives as a new family of three in a loving and beautiful way. Without Kali's help, we might have panicked or misunderstood situations, which could have led to unwanted interventions. Kali kept us steady, calm, and supported. We are so grateful to her, and would absolutely recommend her as a doula!

“Kali served as our doula for the birth of our daughter and she was fantastic! The most amazing part was she stepped in for us when our originally scheduled Doula came down sick the night of our labor. Having someone you’ve never met or interacted with join you on the most vulnerable, incredible and memorable experience of your life is no easy feat, yet throughout our birth experience my wife commonly referred to Kali as our guardian angel. Her energy was very calm and assertive when it came to sharing her recommendations on things we should consider and questions we should as the hospital staff. She was very personable and knowledgeable about various birthing positions and processes. She also knows how to quickly build rapport with staff in the room. This was invaluable both during an intense unmedicated labor experience and then once an epidural was administered. My birth experience was exactly how I wanted it and it is all due to Kalisha King! She was an amazing help and went above and beyond to support me durning this birth in every aspect. She was attentive, calming, and driven through the whole process! I was able to make it the hospital at already 8cm dilated and had a beautiful unmedicated birth. I was able to push him out with 15 minutes of pushing after only arriving at the hospital an hour and a half earlier. Baby was high up when I arrived but kalisha was able to help me get baby down and ready in time for pushing. She was very supportive and attentive through out the entire process and I could not have asked for a more amazing doula!

The best experience i made was hiring Kali as my doula. She was very professional and knowledgeable. She understood my needs and wants  and never made me feel uncomfortable in my decision of choosing a doula. Sis you are truly a blessing.

Kali I want to start off with saying thank you so much for being such a huge blessing not only to me but also to my family. 

If you're looking for some help and guidance after having a baby then you've come across the right person. Kali was such a pleasure to work with. My little one seemed to be at ease with her; the real baby whisper. I really struggled when I came home from the hospital and my friend suggested getting a postpartum doula. She pasted Kali's information along to me. I had no clue really what a doula was. I reached out to Kali she explained her position more in depth to me. When she finished I was sold and knew I desperately NEEDED a doula. 

My SO and I are first time parents and it really was a whole lot to handle after we came home with our little one. My SO and I were not meeting eye to eye because we couldn't figure out to save our lives why our little was so fussy every other day or night. We'd order out because we were so focused on our LO. All I really wanted was a long hot shower and a nap because I felt like I was dirty all day and awake for centuries. I couldn't get a 10 minute shower in because our LO would cry or wake up when I'd leave and my SO didn't know what to do without my boobs so it was a mess. Honestly I was ready to pack all of our bags and go back to the hospital; it was so much easier. But all of that stopped when Kali came to work with us.The first day I was able to cook a meal that last a couple of days, take a boiling shower, and I received such a GREAT nap - woke up unaware of where I was.

Kali not only help me but saved me because I really don't know how I would've been the following week without her. I really was helpless without this wonderful woman. I felt as if I was juggling 5 millon things at once non-sto with her it got down to 2 million things at once. A big relief!  Thank you so, so much Kali.

I had a wonderful experience with Kali and with her help was able to have the type of birth I desired.  I chose to have an unmedicated birth, and Kali coached me/provided pain management techniques at the most difficult point of labor.  Throughout the days leading up to labor, a false start, and the birthing process, she was a constant source of support and guidance. My partner also found her presence and support invaluable, and we both appreciated how she tailored her help to what would work specifically for us. We highly recommend her.  She is caring, very knowledgeable, nonjudgmental, and has a calming presence. She really listens to your needs and does her best to ensure you have the birth experience you desire.

We had a wonderful experience with Kali. She made the process of a long labor and delivery much more soothing, and skillfully answered all of our questions. Kalisha is truly a wealth of knowledge about birth and  baby care, as well as alternative and natural aids.  Although all of her care was excellent, Kali really went above and beyond during our hospital delivery.  As a first time father Kali made me feel like I was actually part of the process, we are so greatful Kali was by our side.
