Maddie is extremely personable, communicative, positive, encouraging, knowledgeable, professional, well-informed, non-judgmental, and all around wonderful to have on your birth support team. I really appreciated having someone as my "go-to" with questions and getting feedback about things.

If you end up laboring & delivering in a hospital, there's a lot of stuff happening around you that can feel overwhelming/ not part of your birth plan. All the more reason to have someone for support and encouragement. For me, once I got to active labor & pushing, everything became a blur. But I remember Maddie's calming and loving presence, her stroking my hand & fixing my hair, guiding my husband, & just being there when everything was getting too intense.

We also utilized Maddie's postpartum services while I remained in the hospital after giving birth, which I HIGHLY recommend if you can swing it (most hospitals dont have nurseries!).

My husband and I are forever grateful to Maddie for her support and kindness during this crazy time in our life!!

Maddie was our doula for the birth of our first child, and we couldn't be more pleased! Her passion for being a part of our birth shined through at every meeting, through her enthusiasm and professionalism. There are a few reasons I find doulas so helpful: 1)developing a birth plan and prioritizing birth wishes,2) advocacy for our birth plan (natural hospital birth, 3)spousal  support, and 4)pain coping. Maddie delivered in all categories; on our 1st meeting, she helped us develop our plan with an exercise to help us determine the central facets. Luckily, while in the hospital, we had a supportive medical team who did not push interventions on us, but Maddie was well versed in our plan and ready to advocate. Perhaps what I appreciated the most was spousal support; Maddie calmly helped my husband through the process, as well as providing instructions for my physical support. Maddie is clearly well versed in various pain coping techniques and was prepared with a rebozo, birthing ball, massager, essential oils, and utilized acupressure techniques to help ease the intense labor pains.

Maddie also communicated  respectfully with our hospital staff, and was a valuable team member throughout the entire process;quick to lend a hand anywhere as needed. We couldn't be happier that we hired her to be a part of our incredible day!

We also utilized Maddie's post partum services- I cannot emphasize enough how valuable that is! Being a tired new mom who needed physical/ emotional support, I greatly appreciated Maddie's enthusiasm for children and the birthing process. Maddie was also working on a lactation support certification and was able to provide me with guidance to breast feed! If you're not sure you need post partum services: you do. It's not a luxury, it's a necessity. Just do it. If you're looking for a doula in the desert area or even you want online support, hire Maddie! I cannot say enough wonderful things about her.

If there's ever been a person meant to be a doula it is definitely Maddie!  We had the privilege of being her first clients but you never would have guessed that was the case. After searching our local area for the right person Maddie stood out from the rest. Her energy and passion was evident from the first conversation. Maddie poured herself into the work, making herself available day and night for questions and support even before the arrival of our little man. She was at our side for nearly 24 hours of labor and was instrumental in our first 2 weeks post partum, helping every step of the way. My wife and I realized how blessed we were to have her on board when we had to return to the hospital two days after birth for some complications.  Maddie's support and tireless work ethic made our experience so much better.  No doubt if we are ever expecting again she will be the first person we reach out to.  I can not recommend Maddie highly enough!
