Stephanie is a certified birth and postpartum doula, newborn care specialist, and yoga teacher in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Birth work has been a part of Stephanie's life for nearly a decade. Before pursuing doula training, she spent time serving pregnant individuals in East Africa and the Philippines. She later worked with survivors of sex-trafficking at a residential recovery home in Central Iowa. Stephanie believes that all individuals are deserving of informed, mother-led perinatal care. Her major objective as a doula is to help mothers connect to their innate, individual seed of truth by supporting their specific recovery needs and empowering them in their new phase of life. "It's nothing short of sacred to support pregnant people while they surrender to the birth process and postpartum transition. This portal – potent with waves of becoming and the shedding of past selves – is the rawest form of human power and tenderness."

Stephanie is a phenomenal doula! From the initial consultation, I knew she would be a great fit- she has a natural ability of making you feel at ease so it felt like I was chatting with an old friend. The meetings at our house were thorough - she stayed as long as was needed to answer all our questions.  She was wonderfully positive and thoughtful throughout the birth of our first son which made us feel very confident in a situation that we all know can be fraught with uncertainty. She kept the atmosphere positive and calm the entire time and everything worked out very well thanks to her continuous insight and guidance! I would highly recommend Stephanie in a heartbeat to all of my closest friends and family.

We hired Stephanie as our postpartum doula for our third baby. She was such an amazing help with the transition from the hospital to getting into a routine before my husband went back to work. She provided such great support for me physically and emotionally, from helping with breastfeeding, to laundry, to some much needed vent sessions. One of the best things she did was make healthy snack packs for the days she wasn't with me so I didn't have to think about what to eat or if I was getting something from each food group. She even watched my 3 year old and our new baby so I could take a much needed nap and shower! This was by far the easiest time I had postpartum in large part to Stephanie's help. She is amazingly encouraging and very thoughtful and an excellent listener. I am so happy that I found her and am so grateful to her for all the work she did! I can't recommend her enough. Thank you, Stephanie!!

I cannot say enough positive things about our experience with Stephanie. We had a challenging transition after the birth of our first baby three years ago. Therefore, we knew we wanted to find someone to help ease our transition with our second baby. We absolutely hit the jackpot with Stephanie. Stephanie completely changed our "newborn experience" and even my experience as a mother. She is warm, kind, respectful, supportive, genuine, and professional. She made us feel so cared for whenever she was there. I wish all parents were able to have the experience she provided us. It was truly hard to let her go when our time together ended and we miss her!

I cannot say enough good things about Stephanie. My partner and I interviewed multiple doulas, and from the beginning Stephanie impressed us with her knowledge about birth, thoughtful questions, and genuine supportiveness. Even though my partner and I were both experienced parents, when we found out that our son had heart issues, we were understandably worried about what this would mean for the delivery and postpartum period. Stephanie was a constant source of support, comfort, and understanding during this time.

During the birth, Stephanie's presence was invaluable. She not only provided emotional and physical support, but also made a wonderfully cozy environment to labor in despite it being in a hospital room. She helped ask questions and communicate my wishes to my care team, who were also incredibly impressed by her. She made sure I felt comfortable and empowered during the delivery process, and after my partner and our son had to leave for the NICU, she stayed with me while I processed the powerful emotions from the birth experience.

A few weeks later, our son was able to come home, and Stephanie continued to be a rock for our family. She provided wonderful postpartum support for both me and our newborn. She was always available to answer our questions, and spent many hours in our home supporting our family and helping take care of our son. Overall, Stephanie's care and support were essential in helping us navigate the challenges of bringing a baby with health issues into the world. Our family is forever grateful for her kindness, wisdom, and compassionate expertise. I highly recommend Stephanie as both a birth and postpartum doula to any expecting parents.

After our first phone consult,  I felt like we had known each other for years. Stephanie stepped into our house confidently asking great questions to try and understand how she could best serve us. She respectfully spent her energy trying to make my life easier as a new mama of 3. She didn't like to sit idle, but also sat and held space with me while I processed thoughts from my birth. Even my 4 year old daughter came to love "Steph days". Inviting someone into our home at such a vulnerable time was intimidating (we're sort of particular about how things are done) but Stephanie made the transition so easy, serving our family with her whole heart. She remains a close friend of ours.

Having Stephanie as our doula and part of our birthing experience was the best decision we could have made.

Stephanie made it so easy to become friends with and trust her fully to help guide us through our journey. Her friendly, warm, grounding and nurturing presence was exactly what we needed during pregnancy and especially birthing.

Leading up to the birth, we had multiple prenatal visits where we prepared and aligned a birth plan. She was very informative and supportive through all of our decisions.

During birth, Stephanie worked incredibly well with my husband and they made the best team to support me along every step of the way. I had no doubt in her abilities and could trust her fully. She also communicated extremely well with my doctor and hospital staff.

Post birth I found it so helpful to have another woman to talk with and receive extra guidance. Overall, hiring Stephanie was the best decision I made and I truly believe she is a big reason why I was able to stick to my unmedicated birth plan.

My partner and I met and hired Stephanie as a postpartum doula after having our second baby. She was very kind, caring and personable. She was genuinely curious about my birthing experience and was eager to help. I didn’t have to tell her how to help, she just knew and being a newly postpartum mom with a 13 month old and a newborn, I could not have asked for anything better. Will definitely consider hiring Stephanie again our next time around. Thanks again, Stephanie.
