My husband and I both agree that hiring a doula during pregnancy was the best decision we made! We were first time parents, and our intention in hiring a doula was to have another person on our team who could help support both of us during delivery. In reality, Alyssa offered so much more than we could have ever imagined.
Alyssa was extremely personable and genuinely connected with my husband and me. She naturally became the vital liaison between the medical professionals and us. Throughout the entire process Alyssa informed us of all the choices available and reminded us that we were in charge. My husband and I were extremely impressed with her expertise and knowledge, especially regarding Spinning Babies techniques. The variety of positions and breathing cues she offered were tremendously helpful. Alyssa had a sense of calm that permeated the delivery room and set a peaceful ambiance. She held space and provided encouraging and empowering words of comfort throughout the delivery. Alyssa was an unwavering source of strength that helped shift my energy and allowed me to persist through grueling contractions. At the time of birth she took incredible photographs that captured the pure joy of the moment, which are priceless and we will cherish forever. Throughout delivery Alyssa was always dedicated to my care, responsive to my needs, and never left my side. I truly believe that I owe my positive birth experience to Alyssa. She offered care that went above and beyond what we had expected. Doulas are worth their weight in gold; they help you physically, mentally, and emotionally navigate prenatal, delivery, and postpartum. To anyone contemplating hiring Alyssa, do it - you will not regret it. Out of five stars, I would give her 10+!

From our very first meeting with Alyssa it was clear that she was a caring, well-informed, personable, and all-around wonderful person and professional who was very passionate about supporting her clients through any child birthing experience and preparing them and empowering them for the whole process.
Alyssa was our doula and we took her spinning babies and child birthing classes, which were both fun and incredibly helpful. One of the things I especially appreciate about Alyssa is that she uses Evidence Based Birth information to provide a full understanding of each topic we were learning about, and would do this without inserting any personal bias or pressure to agree or disagree with any of the information she was providing. She did an incredible job at ensuring that we had the education we needed to truly feel empowered.
Our baby ended up falling under the Fetal Growth Restriction (FGR) measurements which ended up with a decision to induce labor at 39.5 weeks. Because of the FGR measurements and the induction, we were presented with a multitude of unanticipated situations and Alyssa was with us throughout the whole experience. Before each conversation with a doctor, Alyssa would walk us through each scenario, continuing to empower us to ask questions and reference what we had learned. Once labor started, Alyssa was at our sides leading me in spinning babies exercises through each contraction which was extremely helpful and I believe made labor relatively quick and manageable. While supporting me, she also supported my husband in instructing him on how to help me through labor. In the end, both my husband and I felt that we had a positive birthing experience, which I give full credit to the support that Alyssa provided us in so many ways and to her true passion for making sure that no matter how things went we would feel good about the experience because we felt empowered to ask questions and advocate for ourselves.

We took Alyssa's childbirth preparation class and it was SUCH a valuable experience. I learned so much information that helped me and my husband feel prepared for childbirth and postpartum. Alyssa explains things in a way that's easy to understand, and easy to retain. She answered all questions clearly and with empathy. I'd highly recommend working with/learning from Alyssa in any capacity!

I can say enough good things or thank Alyssa enough for being my doula during my birth experience. It was my first baby, and I took Alyssa’s childbirth education class. Taking her class made me as prepared as I could be for labor. Going into birth I was aware of the different pain management options if I needed it and what all the different outcomes could be when having interventions in my birth. I wanted to hold out on getting an epidural as long as I could - or just not get one at all. During my labor I had back labor, which was not fun to say the least and having her there to help me through each contraction I managed to labor for 30 hours without getting one! I unfortunately had some complications and ended up with a c-section, but having her support was crucial for me and my partner during that as well. Things got a little scary, and she was right there reiterating and explaining what was going on and comforting me and him. A few minutes after my son was born she held and soothed him so my husband could comfort me as I was not feeling well during the end of the surgery. I really don’t know how I would’ve managed without her psychically or emotionally- the girl knows what she’s doing and is so passionate about supporting others. I am forever thankful to have her there during my birthing experience.

Alyssa's Childbirth Education Class
Alyssa’s birth education class was absolutely incredible. Twelve hours of learning split up into once-a-week classes for 4 weeks. My husband and I attended together and enjoyed this schedule; we looked forward to absorbing evidence-based information from Alyssa and then spending the week talking about it and coming up with questions for her.
Alyssa presented her information in a myriad of methods: handouts, videos, worksheets, hands-on activities and demonstrations utilizing everyday items for comprehension & visualization.
When it came time for labor, birth, and the immediate few hours afterwards, both my husband and I knew what to expect. Additionally, we felt prepared for what to expect if something wasn’t how we expected it would be. It was empowering for both of us!
With Alyssa’s expertise and her adept presentation, I had an extraordinary birth. I felt so absolutely capable and powerful & I could not have done it without her!

As a first time mom, having a doula was especially important to me. Alyssa is amazing. She is resourceful, compassionate, and supportive. These are all qualities you want to look for when choosing a doula. During my pregnancy, she gave us so many great resources to help guide us through pregnancy. She met with us in-person and was very responsive to texts/emails. When I went into labor Alyssa was a true game changer, even going into labor late at night she was extremely responsive and helped my husband with coping skills until she arrived at the hospital. Once Alyssa arrived she completely changed the atmosphere of the hospital room and gave me the confidence boost (and snacks!) that I needed. She provided comfort measures that immediately made me feel more at ease. She was able to ask the nurses questions that my husband and I didn’t think to ask (position, station, etc) and when the midwife suggested pitocin and breaking my waters due to contractions slowing down, Alyssa was there to help us make an informed decision. Alyssa truly cares about her clients and goes above and beyond to support them. We can’t recommend her enough!
