The wealth of knowledge and support that Betsy provides is unmatched. With this being my first pregnancy I didn't know what to expect. I didn't know what all of my options were for labor, what questions to ask my provider, or what labor would be like in general. She was there for every question, every step, every milestone, every contraction (at home and at the hospital) and every push along the way. She labored with me for almost 12 hours, counting my breaths when I couldn't. She provided constant encouragement when I wanted to give up. She talked me off many ledges throughout my pregnancy and during labor. I will absolutely hire her again for any future pregnancies. Her services are essential and exceptional.

Betsy was an absolute godsend!

Due to difficulties during labor & delivery with my first pregnancy I knew I wanted a doula the second time around to help develop a birth plan and offer coaching during labor. Betsy's expertise and personal birth experience made her the easy choice. 

As miraculous as it is — childbirth is a very violent experience to the body for both mommy & baby. You never know how your body will respond so you’ve gotta be ready to roll with the fire that day brings. Betsy was by my side from start to finish coaching, breathing & laughing me through the fire and I’m so grateful.

Betsy was an incredible doula, mentor, and most importantly, supportive friend during my rollercoaster of a pregnancy and the first weeks of learning how to be a mama. What started off as an uneventful, easy pregnancy ended with a diagnosis of pre-eclampsia at 33 weeks that required 4 weeks of bed rest for my baby to be born at 37 weeks (earlier if my condition did not worsen---thank goodness it did not) and a breeched baby that would require a c-section. My "birth plan" of a vaginal birth with minimal medical intervention with a full term baby completely went to the trash. I was devastated. I felt like I had been cheated after already having suffered a miscarriage earlier in the year. I was scared, nervous, and felt helpless. I also thought it ruined the chance for Betsy to be my doula since I was not having a traditional birth. However, she was resilient and continued to be there for me for emotional support. She consistently encouraged me and validated my feelings while also empowering me as a mother to be. She provided me with tips of how to turn my breeched baby (stubborn gal still never turned) and her own personal testimonies on motherhood. She was honest about her own experiences which was refreshing. She dropped off a bottle of Dreft laundry detergent for me after I had told her that I was completely unprepared to have a baby because I didn't even have the supplies to clean her clothes. Now, every time I smell my baby and her belongings, I am reminded of Betsy's compassion and goodwill. I hope to instill these same traits into my baby girl.

Betsy was so incredibly helpful through my pregnancy and delivery. She was open to my wants and needs and talked me through everything. No question was too small or silly for her. She made me feel so confident going into my delivery. She hyped me up the whole way through my pregnancy and made me feel like super woman!

As we developed my birth plan together, she explained all my options and talked me through various scenarios. The very best thing she did was prepare me for things not going according to my birth plan because they absolutely did not! But I was calm, collected and comfortable with what needed to be done to ensure a safe delivery because of Betsy's detail and care.

I would not have been as prepared without her guiding hand. Reassuring, understanding, supportive, knowledgeable - Betsy was the most encouraging doula I could have asked for!
