Relevant volunteer or advocacy work

Since 2012, I have been dedicating my time to volunteering for women and children. My efforts include assisting in birth work, advocating for their rights, providing support and housing to families affected by domestic violence and abuse, and offering free childcare services to families in need. Collaborating with other individuals to advocate for women and babies has also been an integral part of my service to the community. Out of all the ways I serve my community, being present during labor is my favorite form of advocacy. It is the reason I decided to focus on birth work and become a doula after experiencing the support of my own doula nine years ago. I am available to teach childbirth classes on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays at 6pm, Thursdays from 10am to 1pm, and every other Saturday. I believe that the right doula can make a significant impact on the experience of childbirth and beyond. For this reason, I keep my costs low and offer comprehensive services to ensure that everyone can afford doula services. I take pride in my work and find joy in what I do. Thank you for your interest, and I would be delighted to hear from you soon.

Megan & Garret Wilson

We are thrilled with the experience we had with Rose as our Doula! From start to finish she exhibited compassionate care and attention to detail in all aspects of her services. With the Complete Care package we chose: our knowledge and preparation for birth grew beyond our expectations giving us the confidence to ask questions and be advocates for ourselves for our birth. The prenatal and postpartum meetings gave us insights for helpful tips, tricks and information to better prepare ourselves for the ‘big day’ and bringing home our first child. To be specific - knowledge around how to help better prepare the mothers body for the birth we wanted and speedy recovery that is needed. Rose’s thirst for knowledge is amazing, especially as she studies to become a midwife herself. The ways in which she worked to include the husband in the entire birthing process made it easier for him to make critical decisions during the birth, while also giving him the confidence and tools to better support a birthing mother. Our birth was everything we could have hoped for with her on our team. Even when changes came up, she was a rock that supported both Garret and myself. We would not have had the wonderful birth of our son without her. We feel so blessed to have found her and cannot say enough positive things about the amazing Doula services she provided. 10 out of 10 stars!

Overall services were very on point., especially during labor and delivery. We were able to follow our birth plan even though there were complications along the way which Rose knew was very important to me. She also included my husband in every aspect of services- appointments, information, labor, and delivery, which again was very important - to make him feel involved and included as much as possible. It was incredibly amazing to have a person there with us who is not only knowledgeable but very empathetic, understanding, and supportive. I can 100% honestly say If she was not there, my labor would not have gone to plan, and I would have given up on how I wanted my experience. If I end up having a second child, I will be hiring her again! She turned my very skeptical husband into a believer!

As first time parents -

We could not of been more blessed than to of crossed paths with Rose. As our doula and birthing instrutor, we could not of asked for more. We both felt so prepped and so supported through the entire - Start to finish and beyond - process. She went above and beyond with any questions or needs. I had a long long labor, and she didn't leave my side. Allowed the father to play as big or small of a role as wanted. Very thorough and an amazing listener when it came to needs and wants of my birthing experiance. I look forward to having her there for our next child.

My birthing experience was everything I had hoped for with the help of our doula, Rose Smith. We chose Rose Smith because of her obvious passion for families, birth knowledge, and her geniune care for others. During my labor there were times that Rose was my strength, my comfort, and towards the end of my labor my coach to keep going when I thought I couldn't any longer. Not only did she look after me, but also supported my partner as well by encouraging him to eat, drink, and take a momentary break.  Rose was our advocate during our labor by communicating with the midwives about options and then relaying that information to us in a simple and concise manner so decisions could be made quickly.

The one aspect I sought for my labor experience was to be surrounded by people that helped me feel safe, and Rose definitely was one of those people. There was a moment in my labor experience that I became scared and resistant, however Rose was there whispering words of encouragement. So if you're considering a doula I would highly recommend Rose Smith because she will support your birth preferences, provide information, and be a caring heart for those in the birth room. She became more than a doula to me, she became a friend who helped ease my fears and anxiety of labor.

Rose was such a blessing to have at the birth of our son Owen. She was always there to help relieve the pain in my back, this allowed my husband to be up by me during the labor. I feel if she wasn’t there my labor would have been much different and much longer like my last one was. She was soothing, and calming and when I needed to remember to breath properly she was right there breathing with me. I would recommend her to anyone who is pregnant.
