Cindi was amazing! While I knew the benefits of having a doula present for my labor and delivery, I was really blown away by the amount of support she offered both througout my pregnancy and in the weeks since we've been home from the hospital. She made me feel extremely confident and taken care of and she was a wealth of information and insight. I went a week and a half past my due date and Cindi checked in with me every day offering emotional support and making sure I was feeling okay, and did the same after the birth of our baby. She was so kind and really connected with both my husband and I; he was so happy to have her to help guide him so he could learn how to support me. My labor and delivery could not have gone better and she was a huge part of why everything went so smoothly. I think we're good with one baby but if we ever decided to have another, Hiring Cindi would be the very first thing I would do; I can't thank her enough!
Cindi was a joy to work with, learn from, and experience the birth of our daughter with. Cindi was very calm and informative, very "zen" which I really enjoyed and wanted in the doula we chose. She provided information from her experiences as well as good links to information for all of my questions (pretty sure I had a lot, as a first time mother-to-be). I enjoyed the acupressure provided and the conversation and reassurance at meetings we had.
On the evening I went into labor, she was available by phone and came to our house, even though we headed to the hospital shortly after she arrived. At the hospital, she kept both myself and my husband focused so we progressed in labor well as a great, on point, cohesive team. I think my husband may have accidently sprayed her with water when I was laboring in the shower, but she took it in stride. Later, I told Cindi and my husband that although it seemed like I was not paying attention to them much when laboring, I was and just trying to follow their words, listen to their affirmations and labor on. :) Cindi strived to keep my husband hydrated, encouraged and made sure he had snacks so he could be as supportive as possible. My delivery went well and as i had desired, which I am extremely grateful for. Cindi came by for our post partum visit and has also stayed in touch since. Many many thanks to Cindi for being a wonderfully perfect example of what I think a Doula should be. Love and hugs!!!!
Cindi was amazing! After our doula, and our doula's backup, were unable to attend our second son's birth because of their own sick children, Cindi came through in a pinch and gave her all to our birth experience. She was immediately available, despite not knowing she would be attending our birth till the morning of! She was waiting at the hospital when we arrived. She supported my husband through every contraction, meeting his needs as well as my own. She also understood family dynamics and worked to create a positive birthing atmosphere for me, as well as helped me to positively process my birth experience afterwards. I had a very lengthy first labor on my first son, which caused some fear of labor on my part, and she constantly reminded me, "This is not Sheamus' birthday. It is Nathaniel's." She was incredibly well prepared, with acupressure techniques, snacks, water, tea candles, Christmas lights, as well as at-home in the hospital environment, working like a professional with the nurse and midwife on comfort measures. She suggested positions (pulling on a sheet in a supported squat, which ended up being how I birthed my baby), and made sure to order me a black bean burger ASAP after the birth. She stayed right by my side while I was stitched up and gave me peanut butter, graham crackers and orange juice. Overall, an amazing support person. Highly recommended!
Having Cindi as our doula was such an amazing experience. Her guidance, advice and reassuring presence were invaluable during our birthing experience. Cindi was not only a huge support to me while in labor, but also for my husband and mother who attended the birth. She came ready with snacks, birthing ball, aromatherapy, accupressure, lights, and more! She really went above and beyond our expectations.
Cindi was so kind and thoughtful and checked in to see how I was doing regularly before, during, after the birth of our daughter. At such a special and critical moment in our lives she gave us confidence and created a calm environment. I HIGHLY recommend her!!!!
Cindi is a natural nurturer with an infectious smile and a really great assortment of snacks.
Our relationship with Cindi began as contractual but quickly blossomed into a mutual friendship. Her doula services proved invaluable and her presence was greatly appreciated during those occasional difficult days of pregnancy and the defining moments during labor and delivery.
Cindi is a true professional who not only fulfilled her contractual obligations but exceeded our greatest expectations. We absolutely would re-enlist Cindi and confidently recommend her services to others.

if you're reading this you're searching for a doula. what you may not know, is that you have actually completed that search. Quite simply put if you want a healthy baby delivered exactly the way you plan with the assistance of someone who truly cares about your family and knows every facet of birth , you need cindi. cindi is patient and soft spoken when that is required. cindi can also be a decisive mission oriented agent if it is required.( always with a kind voice and true attention to detail ). if this review gives you the impression that I am a personal friend of hers then that is not so far off the mark however I only became one because I was a client. cindy was well prepared with plenty of food, tools and perspicasity.
my wife and I were delivering our first child, we did not want the use of pain medication of any kind. that is exactly what we did. I'm told that delivering a baby face off is one of the more difficult types of deliveries but thanks to cindi we were able to accomplish it without tearing. my wife told me that "cindi was better than pain medication."
beg her to be your doola, explain what you're looking for and bring home a happy baby and wife.
this doola is everything you did not know you needed before you asked for it.
Cindi was absolutely wonderful to have as a doula! I feel incredibly lucky to have found her. She is so warm and kind, and was so great on the day of my daughter's birth. She arrived precicely when she was needed and came with all sorts of handy comfort measures -- birthing ball, aromatherapy oils, SNACKS... In the midst of slightly-unrepapred chaos (I had my baby a couple weeks early) Cindi was calm and efficient and so very helpful. Bless her, she even lit the bathroom with Christmas lights (these are wonderful wonderful wonderful for the dim lighting and the senses). Cindi was like the Galadriel of doulas, bringing little lights for dark places.
I would highly recommend hiring her. She was flexible with her fees, flexible with her schedule, and genuinely kind and caring.
I hired Cindi at the beginning of my preganacy with my second child. I had anticiapted being single during my pregnancy and knew that I would need a line of support during the pregnancy and delivery! She is a warm, loving, bubbly person who is also extrememly grounded and focused. The combination makes for a doula that is not only calming and able to address questions and fears in an effective way, but also a doula that helps to foster the excitment of having a baby and all those good cozy wozy thoughts that go along with it! I ended up having a partner with me in addition to Cindi and I also ended up having another c-section (we were shooting for a vbac). She was able to adapt through all these changes, act as an advocate for me and my partner (now my husband). I would recommend having a doula to anyone that feels like they could use some extra support duing pregnancy/delivery and I would recommend Cindi to anyone. She is 100 percent awesome.
I have known Cindi for 21 years, but have considered her a sister for the last 13. She has always been the first person I turn to when I have needed comfort and nurturing, but nothing quite compares to her presence at my son's birth. I went into labor six weeks early, in the spring of 2010. Cindi flew in from Texas to be at my side, and made it for the final 3 hours of my labor. She immediately brought a calmness to the room, and jumped right in to help, soothing and encouraging me and beaming with pride. Close to the end of my labor, when things were getting very intense, I remember thinking to myself, “My God, Cindi is a natural at this; it's like she is meant to help birth babies.” Even in the midst of my transitional stages, close to the time I began to push, Cindi's ability to nurture and mother me stood out from the intensity of the pain and contractions, the blood and uncertainty. I was in awe of her, while she was in awe of me as I birthed my healthy, albeit premature baby boy. When I began pushing, she held back one of my legs, sitting right next to the midwife. She was perfectly composed as I received an emergency episiotomy, with her front row seat to all the blood and gore. Afterward, I was lead to a bath, and Cindi washed my hair as I soaked, rested, and ate a Philly cheese steak sandwich. She even tucked me into bed at the end of the night, with more words of encouragement and praise.I honestly don't know how I would have gotten through my labor without Cindi at my side, and I know the importance of her presence goes beyond our deep friendship. I believe that everyone has natural, inborn, God-given gifts, and assisting births is one of many gifts my dear friend Cindi has been blessed with. Whenever I speak with women who are not yet mothers, I always make a point to recommend a doula. If Cindi still lived in Nebraska, I would revise my recommendation: get Cindi for your birth.
