Charmaine is the best doula. She is extremely patient and attentively caring. I greatly appreciated her presence while giving birth. She helped with breathing, positioning, and provided a calming effect even during difficult contractions.  I especially appreciated her help postpartum.  She guided me through all manners of uncomfortable after birth issues, in particular helping with breastfeeding. Charmaine provided me with the best emotional, physical and informational support. I couldn't have done this without you Charmaine! Thank you.

I’ll be honest — I wasn’t sure how much a doula would matter, but Charmaine completely changed my perspective. She was there for my wife every step of the way, helping with comfort measures, breathing, positioning, and explaining what was going on in a way that made everything less overwhelming. She also made sure I knew how to help instead of just standing there feeling useless. Because of her support, the birth of our daughter felt calm, organized, and full of teamwork. I’m so glad we had her with us.

After deciding to have a doula last minute in my pregnancy, Charmaine was flexible and accommodating. We were able to meet twice before giving birth along with emails/text messages back and forth. 

Once labour began, we contacted Charmaine promptly and she arrived in perfect timing before the pain amped up. During labour, she assisted myself and partner through each contraction,  trying several strategies to support me best. She did a great job in gauging how my partner was feeling and gently guided him to support me.

When active labour began, it was nice to have someone like Charmaine to be another support person alongside of my partner and midwives, even if it was simply being present and calm or using techniques to help me focus. She helped to create a positive and calm environment during this process.

Charmaine is personal, intuitive and has a gentle approach, as well as an ability to form relationships quickly and helped my partner feel comfortable.

Charmaine served as a great support after birth, staying until I was comfortable in bed and the midwife completed all of their tasks. She offered and provided additional support post partum through checking in a couple days later and in person breastfeeding support.
