Fee Details

I am dedicated to making my services accessible to all who need them. No one will be turned away because of their inability to pay for support. The upper end of this sliding scale fee ($50/hour for ongoing postpartum support) best reflects the value of my services. However, as an advocate for reproductive justice, I recognize that systemic barriers often prevent people from seeking out/affording quality doula care. Until we have an equitable healthcare system, I will be reserving time and energy for those who have been disenfranchised by our economy, and by racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and/or xenophobia. I am especially devoted to serving POC, members of the LGBTQ community, surrogates, teens and young adults, and others who may face barriers to receiving the care they deserve.

Mia supported our family for a second time this winter as a postpartum doula.  She remains the calm, reassuring caregiver that she was the first time for us and is bolster by the robust experience she's gained since then.  Mia made delicious healthy food for us, picked up on our new baby's individual preferences, and steered us through the blur of those first weeks with a newborn.  As a second time mom, I found myself with different parenting and recovery anxieties than with my firstborn.  Mia's support balanced building my confidence and strength with giving my body time it needed to heal.  I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Mia was an excellent resource for us as new parents. She is incredibly knowledgeable and kind and has a very calming presence. Baby Joni also took to her immediately. She happens to be an excellent cook as well and we appreciated the small touches, like organizing our baby’s dresser drawer.

If you are in the market for a postpartum doula, we could not recommend Mia highly enough.

Mia is exceptional. She provided incredible care for my baby and support for me during a transformative, new, and often confusing time when my son was 1-4 months old. If I were to have another baby, I would absolutely reach out to her to help with the earliest (and hardest) newborn days as well. I highly recommend Mia as a postpartum doula (as well as any other services and care she provides) and truly value her as a person. Mia's extensive expertise, deepy kindness, and empathy empowered me to be a more grounded, patient, skilled, and confident mother to my baby.

Mia is a fantastic doula, and I highly recommend her.  We hired Mia as a postpartum doula after our third child was born. We had never had a postpartum doula before and were a little unsure what to expect. Mia ended up helping us with many things, including organizing and washing pump parts, getting artwork into frames, doing laundry, dishes, and general tidying, and watching our older kids on occasion. Mostly though, Mia helped us with the baby. She taught us how to swaddle, which was an absolute game changer, and helped us trim the baby's nails. She is amazing at soothing a fussy baby and getting them to sleep, giving the parents a little break. I always looked forward to Mia's visits and felt a sense of ease when she was in our home, due to her calm demeanor and gentle and nonjudgmental way of accomplishing tasks. It was wonderful having Mia's support during this most precious time with our new baby.

Mia provided us with invaluable help during the first few months of my daughter's life. She brought a calm presence and a ton of knowledge, and jumped in with little direction to help with the baby and household tasks like washing and organizing our clothes. I learned so many tips from her related to sleep, bathing, development, and overall baby care. We thought we were only going to have Mia come a few times during the first month, but ended up having her come several times a week for about 3 months. She was particuarly helpful and reassuring during my baby's most fussy phase. I always looked forward to her coming and she will be one of the first calls we make if we have a second baby!

We highly recommend Mia! Mia is warm, thoughtful, and understanding - we (including baby) always looked forward to her visits. As first time parents, we often felt completely lost and Mia very patiently encouraged and explained and reassured. And she was so natural and gentle with baby that she put us at ease immediately. We're so lucky to have worked with Mia!

Mia was an excellent postpartum doula. She was waiting for us at home when we arrived back from the hospital with our newborn, Nell. She knew all the right things to do, cooked us delicious and nutritious meals, and gave us wise advice about caring for our baby in her first weeks. Mia was a calming presence in those first few days home. I would definitely recommend her to new parents looking for a wise, calming, and very helpful postpartum doula.

Mia is so wonderful. She helped me and my husband when we first brought our baby home and then provided additional support when my husband went back to work and I was still on leave. Mia's knowledge, wisdom, and calming presence are incredible -- she is exactly the type of person you want to help you when you are an anxious, new parent. She taught us so much in the time she was here and really helped build my confidence. We would absolutely hire her again if we have another child! She is a gem.

Mia is fantastic. She worked with us while our son was a couple month old. She knew what was needed without me having to explain what to do. She brings a calmness and kindness to her work. She was able to get our son to sleep very well, and also feed him well. She also helped with whatever was needed around the house - including organizing his clothing without me asking. She is just fantastic and a joy to work with. She geniunely cares.

For the birth of my son I decided I'd like the help of a doula. The maternal mortality rates in the US are not good, so I thought it might be helpful to have an advocate in case I wasn't in a good mental space to advocate for myself. I also wanted someone to help me with pain coping mechanisms and birthing positions.

Mia was recommended by an acquaintance and I'm so glad we chose her! Her rates were very reasonable and she provided a lot! She met with us twice before the birth, was there to help during labor and delivery, and came over twice afterwards to take care of my son AND cook me delicious food! The pain coping mechanisms she taught me were more helpful than my birthing class.

Mia is calm, peaceful, and helpful. She counted me through my breathing during contractions and held my leg while I pushed. My midwife also said she was great!

A+ would recommend :)

Mia is warm, kind and patient - she helped us so much in the first weeks after our daughter was born. Having a baby and toddler in the house is a lot, but Mia supported us in a very calming way. You can trust her 100 percent, she listens carefully and makes helpful suggestions. She also has a very lovely way holding and caring for a baby! You can see that she just loves her job. Thank you for everything, Mia!

Mia was everything we hoped for in a postpartum doula and so much more - if I had to sum her up, I'd say she is thoughtful, proactive, and a deep listener. After a traumatic birth experience and unexpected challenges in the first week of our baby’s life, Mia came into our home as a much-needed calm presence, helping with everything from organizing our kitchen to processing the birth. My wife induced lactation and Mia supported both of us with zero judgment as we navigated pumping, breastfeeding, and formula feeding. She also regularly helped with dishes, laundry, and meal prep, making our lives run more smoothly as we made the huge transition to parenthood. Best of all, she was so good with our baby, who loved Mia and responded so well to her. Mia gave us a beautiful start to parenthood and I would wholeheartedly recommend her to any kind of family.

If you are thinking about a post partum doula, do it!  Mia was a lifesaver for us after our son was born.  I definitely would not have had the success with breastfeeding my son and him hitting his milestones without her support, recommendations and just being my cheerleader.  It was great to have her in my corner validating and supporting my efforts whatever it looked like.   It is tough for women and families navigating post partum issues and having a new baby, so having someone there to support, guide and help you in whatever capacity you need was tremendous for me.  Not only mentally, just enabling me to have some space and time, got me though some very tough weeks.  She has been great with our son and he loves being with her.  Its been a pleasure working with Mia and would definitely recommend her to anyone 1000 times over!

I cannot say enough words to describe my experience with Mia as a postpartum doula. As a new mom I had no clue what I was doing with my newborn baby. Mia is kind, gentle and encouraging. Her warm personality is exactly what every baby and new mom needs to be surrounded with as they navigate life together. Thank you Mia for just being a support system as we navigated postpartum life together!

Mia made me feel understood in a really chaotic and overwhelming time post partum with my newborn. She somehow is able to reach the perfect combination of gently guiding and also not pushing; of completely understanding where you're at and showing no judgment but also showing me how to care for myself and my son; of how to accept myself but also breathe. She is authentic in ways not many people can achieve. She was so skilled with my son and made him feel so calm too that I am constantly desperate for more Mia. She is a gifted and talented doula who really cares about the work and I could not recommend her more highly!

Mia helped us out twice a week as a postpartum doula for our daughter (who was 3-5 months old at the time) for a few months while I was on maternity leave and needed to go to pelvic floor PT and run other errands.  She was absolutely wonderful, and I would not hesitate to recommend her!  She was always prompt and engaged in age-appropriate developmental activities with my daughter (and taught my husband and me some good "tricks of the trade" as first time parents).  In addition, it was wonderful for me to get a break/some time to myself in those early postpartum months, and I felt relaxed and comfortable knowing my daughter was in good hands with Mia.

Expecting our first with family not able to visit for several weeks, we hired Mia to provide immediate postpartum support to ease our transition home. Not knowing how the birth experience would be nor what physical or emotional support I would need, having someone to help with what may come was important to us. I was so grateful that Mia was who we chose.

Mia's endless kindness, patience, and willingness to support both of us as parents helped to set up our small family for success. Mia provided early education on breastfeeding and pumping, helped set-up our milk / bottle workflow and station, supported us in giving our son his first bath at home, and I am sure more little things that escape my memory. She helped us both become more confident caretakers of our little one. This was all while holding us with love and support for what we were going through emotionally - the nerves of new parenting, the rollercoaster of sleep deprivation and postpartum recovery, baby blues and more. Further, she was absolutely wonderful and sweet to our newborn.

I am sincerely grateful to Mia for providing the extra love, support, and patience in our early days of parenting. Her presence was calming, kind, and loving in a critical part of our new lives as a family of three - I will never forget how she positively impacted this experience.

Working with Mia was the best addition to our birth plan and team.  My husband and I have limited support in the city as we're new to the area and have family that live far away.  Mia was attentive, prompt to respond to communication, and provided a sense of calm and clarity in a process that was overwhelming and intimidating for us.

We chose Mia because we wanted someone with similar values.  As queer individuals working hard to raise our kiddo in a more gender creative way, we wanted a doula that was not only respectful of queer and gender-expansive identities, but also informed and competent.  We quickly learned that even if Mia wasn't educated about the issues that were important to us (which she was), she approaches her role with such openness and genuine interest that it's hard to imagine anyone not feeling seen or supported by her.  We also valued that she worked with folks seeking abortions.

I would recommend Mia to anyone looking to add a doula to their birth team.

We hired Mia to help us with our baby girl during my maternity leave, and it was one of the best decisions we made. Having such a knowledgeable person to assist us in those early days as first-time parents was so reassuring. I always knew my daughter was in excellent hands. She helped us stay organized - from sorting baby clothes, managing milk storage, and washing bottles - to helping us maintain a good schedule. She gave me room to make decisions and was always supportive no matter what I was "trying" that day / week. I would highly recommend considering a doula for postpartum support to any parent - and Mia is the best.

Mia was wonderfully supportive and helped us through our postpartum experience.  She was easygoing and flexible.  Even when our little one was a week late, Mia arrived right when we got home from the hospital.  She is calm and compassionate, making it easy for me to share challenges and ask for help when I needed it most.  Mia was able to answer questions, coach me through things like pumping and feedings, and anticipate challenges, making days when she wasn't with us easier too.  I would highly recommend Mia as a doula.

Mia helped care for my newborn daughter. She was unfailingly kind, warm, and professional. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for pre- or postpartum care.
