Kaity is truly amazing! My husband and I could not have wished for better help. At first, I was unsure if we even needed a doula since we were going through Bradley Method classes, reading books and doing research. Statistically, I knew that it was better to have one so I did a lot of research on who would be the best. Kaity was my number one choice and I am so glad for that! Even before we hired her, she was helping us make better choices for our daughter’s birth. She was knowledgeable, helped us weed through to our true feelings about the birth and made us feel so relaxed and confident. She checked in with us, was available for questions and helped us every step of the way. We knew we were in good hands.
The birth care that she gave us was exceptional. My labor was long and very hands on. Our daughter was posterior and did not want to turn. Kaity’s wisdom on “spinning babies” was perfect for us! She helped me with positioning to try and turn our daughter for hours. She helped me stay hydrated to avoid an IV, used her knowledge of essential oils to relax me and alleviate nausea and kept my contractions more regular with pressure points. I had major back labor and she was invaluable in helping with back pain. Her physical support was amazing but her emotional support was unparalleled. I remember being nervous about pushing and sharing that with her. She calmed my anxiety and stepped me through it. She was by my side through the whole long labor. She took over all other responsibility so that my husband and I could just focus on the labor. She worked flawlessly with my husband and our care providers. I truly believe that without her guidance and support, I would not have had a vaginal birth. She went above and beyond for us. I will definitely be asking her to join us for all future births.
The greatest decision hands down I ever could have made for myself weeks before Erikson was born is to hire Kaity as my doula. Words cannot express how much I admire and appreciate this woman. Not only did she help me to achieve the beautiful birth I dreamed of for years, but she has opened my eyes to a world I never knew existed.
Throughout my labor Kaity never left my side. She was clearly very passionate and incredibly knowledgeable. I felt very safe knowing I had her there not only as an emotional support, but knowing she would be there to defend me and remind me that I have choices if it became necessary. She led me through the entire experience, and held me together when it got rough reminding me of my goals and how important they were to me. After he was born she was so much more than just another body in the room, she celebrated with us. She laughed wirh us, cried with us. As if she was a member of the family. She has kept in contact with me since he was born, and is always just a call or a text message when I need her. She has gone so far past my original expectations.
As I said in the beginning of my post, she has opened my eyes to a world I never knew existed. Until I had this experience and met KaityI was not aware that I could spend my life helping women in this beautiful time of their lives. I want to help give people an experience as beautiful as mine, and it is totally an option for me to do so. There is a whole world of women empowering women I was completely unfamiliar with, and it is so beautiful. It is so refreshing to see this with all of the negativity we see in the world today.
I had heard a lot of great feedback from other moms about Kaity as a doula. I sure did my homework--just because I had had a really traumatic birth experience. Coupled with PTSD, that can definitely inhibit my labor. Before I ever met Kaity, I had known I wanted her as my doula just based on what I'd heard through the grapevine.
Kaity met with me several times and provided me with a wealth of information (I'm an information junkie!). I probably checked out 5 different books of hers from her lending library. She was extremely knowledgable in many areas, and has great connections.
She did spinning babies and introduced me to essential oils!
I had to fire my midwife the day before I was due, and with Kaity's connections I had a new midwife in two days. She really bent over backwards for us, and for that I'm eternally grateful. I had a happy, healthy home water birth just like I wanted. This was truly a healing birth.
Thank you, Kaity!
I started asking around about local doulas and time and time again I got this in reply: Kaity Klotzbach!
So, I contacted Kaity and set up an interview. At the interview we chatted like we had known each other for years.
So it was decided. I was still hesitant about having someone else at my birth.
A few months and two prenatal visits later it was time for me to have my baby!
I had two weeks of false labor, during which time Kaity reassured me time and time again.
"You are doing great! You are so strong! Your body is working perfectly!"
Then at 1 week past my due date something changed and I knew I was in labor for real this time.
Through my 36 hour labor, which started and stopped/slowed down a few times, Kaity was my cheerleader the whole time. And her extensive knowledge of the birth process was invaluable!
I am not ignorant on the subject of birth, but my labor would have been much longer and much more difficult if she hadn't been there to offer advice, knowledge and suggestions to speed things up.
Within three hours of her arrival at my home we were on our way to the hospital on the cusp of 'Transition'.
At the hospital I was almost completely dilated, but then three hours later I was only at a 7.
I wanted to give up. I didn't even care if I had to have surgery. I just wanted to be done.
But Kaity never wavered in her faith in me and the birth process. She gave my husband the support he needed to help me to stick with my birth plan. She gave advice about our next course of action, and supported me every step of the way.
45 minutes later my beautiful, healthy son was born. When I look at the pictures from my birth I can see pure joy radiating from her face.
You can tell that this is what she was made to do.
You can tell that this is her passion, and that caring for families is what she loves to do.
If I could go back and change anything about my birth, would I? Absolutely not.
Without a doubt, Kaity made my birth experience 100% better. She was kind, compassionate, and supportive in the weeks leading up to my birth. She has a vast wealth of knowledge and a fantastic lending library, and she was always there for me when I had questions or concerns. Very quick to answer a text or E-Mail, she provided me with much needed reassurance.
When my water broke and we knew it was time, she was ready to go. She brought "magical bag of wonders" to the birth FULL of helpful things! It seemed that she had anything I could possibly need, and it was a huge help to my husband and I. When in transition, I broke down and asked for pain medication, even though I was adamant about not wanting it. Kaity gently reminded me that wasn't what I wanted and guided me through one contraction at a time. When it came time to push, she was right there with me, encouraging me the entire way.
She went above and beyond, doing things like bringing snacks and taking photos of the entire labor for us. I had the perfect birth, and I know it was because of Kaity. If I ever became pregnant again, I would never consider birthing without her. I HIGHLY recommend Kaity to any woman thinking of hiring a doula. Please give her a call - you will be so glad you did.
Kaity was very supportive and was in constant contact in the weeks leading up to our birth. Without Kaity, my husband and I would not have gotten the birth experience that we wanted. Her extra support helped us stick to our birth plan and brought so much more calm to the experience. Her wealth of knowledge and personal experience helped us KNOW that we could do this. She was a VERY important part of our birth team. I truly wish that every pregnant woman could have the opportunity to have a doula like Kaity.
