We had an unmedicated hospital birth with our second child and Janice was an amazing support person through the whole process.

Janice first met with us a couple times prior to labour to discuss all our requests and desires for our birth. She was easy to talk to and understanding of my concerns, taking notes and providing resources to help with decision making. My first birth experience was emotionally traumatic due to how I was treated by hospital staff during labour and delivery and I was determined to have a more positive experience this time. This time we opted for midwife care rather than doctors, but still planned on hospital birth.

On the birth day, she showed up at our house promptly after we called her, and got to work right away to provide comfort measures.  After labouring at home for a few hours, we went to hospital where she continued to provide physical and emotional support while the midwives focused on the medical aspects.  After baby was born, she stayed for a couple hours to make sure we were settled and had no further questions/needs to address before she left.

I can honestly say that this time I had a wonderful birth experience with the midwives, and Janice's love and comfort was a huge component to it.   She did all the comfort things we had talked about prior, and was a calm, grounding presence in that ugly, hectic hospital room when it started to feel overwhelming.  I got the unmedicated, intervention free birth that I had wished for because she was there to support and encourage me through it.

Janice met with us for a final home visit to debrief and I think I must have been all smiles when we saw her again.

Childbirth is such a sacred, pivotal moment in our lives and I am so thankful Janice was there for ours. I highly recommend her to everybody.

Janice was AMAZING!!! She was there to support my husband and I every step of the way during a chaotic day! When things didn't go accordingly to plan she was able to effortlessly adjust to the situation and keep both of us calm! I couldn't imagine not having Janice there with us.  She was supportive, positive, encouraging, and informative every step of the way. I can't say enough amazing things!! Thank you for everything, Janice!!!

I am so glad that Janice was my doula for the birth of my second baby! This was a VBAC -- vaginal birth after c-section -- and I really appreciated the extra effort she made to ensure that I was informed and supported. Her techniques, suggestions, and calming presence made an incredible difference throughout my labour and delivery. She also worked very well with my partner, coaching him on how best to support me throughout the process. She recognized the importance of the bond between him and me and honoured that throughout.

The moment Janice arrived at the hospital and immediately began supporting me through my active labour, I felt an immense shift in my mental, emotional, and physical state. Before she arrived, I was starting to feel like the contractions were overwhelming and overpowering me. However, with her coaching, guidance, and massage I began to feel more at ease and in control. From that point, I had only one more hour of very calm active labour followed by 30 minutes of pushing. With Janice's constant support and encouragement, our wonderful baby boy arrived in the world and it never even crossed my mind to request any kind of medical pain management!

On top of her amazing support during labour and delivery, I really appreciated the steps Janice took in advance and after to make sure I was prepared and supported. Our conversations beforehand helped me prepare and plan in ways I wouldn't have otherwise.

Words can’t express my gratitude to Janice. I have already recommended her to my closest friends. She truly is amazing!

It’s hard to pick the right words to express how grateful I am for Janice. We weren’t sure if we needed a doula but the second we met Janice we knew she was the perfect fit.

I couldn’t imagine not having her support & help during the labour process. I was in labour & delivery for over 52 hours, so this was a marathon process that was mentally taxing. She was there to support my husband & myself every step of the way. Her labour support tools and breathing techniques were so helpful, plus she just knew the right words at the right time. I’m so grateful for her impact on my first birth.

The thing that sticks out the most is her nurturing and calming presence. Labour is such an intimate and vulnerable experience and we felt at ease and comforted with Janice. It felt like we knew her forever!

She helped my husband play an active role in the process and answered all of our questions, easing any worries. My husband was especially grateful as her presence allowed him to take short breaks, come back refreshed with the energy to support me fully.

I reccommend Janice to all birthers who are looking for a calm, supportive doula who will help you every step of your journey! Thanks Janice!

My partner and I feel very blessed to have had Janice on our birth team for our first pregnancy. She brought in a ton of knowledge and techniques to help the process in regards to pain management/reduction. She's got a very genuine and sincere presence about her and during some of the toughest parts of my labour she was able to stop panic attacks in their tracks and bring me back into the moment to continue pushing and breathing as needed. During moments when I was feeling defeated her calm voice and eye contact helped immensely. When my partner was feeling unsure of how to help she was able to give direction and was very supportive of him as well. When she had moments to, she captured photos for us with our consent and we will cherish them forever. We were very grateful for her attention to our needs in every moment and we recommend her to anyone looking for a doula to add to their team. We will definitely be adding her to our team again if we are blessed with a second child.

We met Janice about 2 weeks before our induction. I had been diagnosed with gestatational diabetes and then hypertension so for safety my doctor wanted us to have our little guy at 37 weeks and we were super grateful to connect with Janice. She was prompt to reply to my questions and came to meet with us days after speaking over video call to make sure that we were comfortable with our connection. Within minutes I felt at ease with Janice as did my husband and we began our journey to parenthood. The birthing experience was incredible and Janice was so supportive with both myself and my husband the entire time and I can honestly say she made the process so much smoother for us with the medical team. I did have some complications but her support and belief that I could do what I planned was exactly what I needed and her ability to advocate and remind me what I wanted made the experience so much more. Thank you so much Janice for sharing the most important day of our lives with us. You'll never know how much it meant to us.

When our son was born in November we had Janice as our doula. She has a very calming energy and was always checking in to offer her help. We would definitely have Janice as our doula for any future children we may have.

Janice acted as doula for a client of mine, and it was wonderful working with her and seeing her work. Janice has an incredible way of holding space- she remained calm, caring, patient, and supportive the entire time. She was always ready to provide and offer comfort measures for the client and was an amazing help to the support people present. When things became medically complex, Janice remained collected and helped to ensure a smooth shift to a new birth plan. I would highly recommend Janice as a doula to any of my clients and those seeking labour support for themselves and their families.
