Madison made the birth of our first child a smooth and calm experience. Unfortunately, my water broke at home and I was not having contractions, so I ultimately ended up on pitocin and eventually getting an epidural (for about 2 hours). Even with my epidural, I was able to still move. Madison helped get me into many different labor positions (my favorite was using the squat bars in a low squat position playing tug a war with the sheet).
When im in pain or don't feed well, I get quiet and keep to myself. I didn't have to ask Madison for anything, she read the room -- offered different suggestions, techniques and positions to try.

I couldn't have asked for a better labor experience, and 100% use Madison again if/when we have another child!

I've been a NICU nurse for 17 years so I have been present at many delivery's. This delivery was personal. I was watching my daughter labour. It was interesting to see the dynamics of the delivery room with different eyes. Madison's role was helping my daughter with the contractions.
Really what i was most impressed with was how she worked with my daughter. Repositioning her into the optimal comfortable delivery position. My daughter was able to really focus. I thought Madison was amazing!!Grandma CiCi

Maddie is an absolute earth angel! She showed up to the hospital immediately and jumped right in to help. Didn't ask questions, she knew exactly what I needed. She read my energy so well. I couldn't have given birth naturally without her. I will forever be grateful for her. I would 100000% recommend Maddie she is an INCREDIBLE doula. Anyone would be so lucky to have her calming presence during birth

Maddie was the best doula I could have asked for in my birth story. She was so supportive and such a calming presence. She was there through every contraction, helping me push through and helped keep me calm. She helped my husband be able to help me through my labor. I highly recommend having Maddie as your doula. She truly made my birth 10x better.

Maddie did an amazing job from the very beginning. I did my interview with her and just knew she was going to be my doula. Her demeanor matched with my personality so well. She kept me informed of how the process would go. She also wanted all updates from my appointments so she could stay in the loop of my pregnancy and eventual induction. Even though induction wasn't my plan, Maddie switched gears without a blink of an eye. She made me feel calm about the whole thing and validated all my feelings that I had about the situation. When it was birthing time she showed up during active labor. Pitocin had been started and I had a cook's balloon as well. She instructed me into effective laboring positions and kept me "in the game". There was a point where they increased my pitocin and the pain was becoming difficult to manage. She suggested I try nitrous oxide gas. It helped for a long while! However, the pitocin eventually became unbearable for me. Maddie knew that I wanted to try to birth without and epidural but, she also knew that if I truly needed it she would advocate for me. She never made me feel like a failure for any choice I made. There were more complications than anticipated with my birth but Maddie made me feel strong and in control of the whole situation. I don't regret any of the choices I made in my birth because Maddie empowered me! Thank you, Maddie. ??

I could not have had the beautiful home birth I did without Maddie on my team. She was the most kind and helpful support! I had a goal to have an unmediated home birth and when things felt difficult and I wanted to give up, she encouraged me, empowered me and support me. I would do it all over again with her in a heartbeat!! Birth is a sacred special experience and her peaceful energy was just what I needed. Also! Her hands on support helped me manage some intense waves of back labor. She's truly a rockstar. Forever grateful!

Maddie and I instantly clicked with our initial consultation.
She checked on me frequently throughout my pregnancy. Maddie was encouraging and helpful, providing resources and support when I needed it. During birth, she was present, calm, and encouraging.
She was a wonderful addition to our birth team and I would use her again!

Our experience with Maddie was truly phenomenal, and I have nothing but amazing things to say about her. As first time parents, we were very nervous about the birth process, and had literally no idea what to do or what to expect. I knew that I wanted to have a natural birth if possible and knew we wanted to have a doula assist with labor, but I could not imagine how impactful a doula, and more specifically, Maddie would have on my entire experience. Maddie was incredibly calm, encouraging, and knowledgeable throughout my entire labor, and I truly do not think I would have been able to have a natural birth without the different counter pressures she applied during contractions or the various positions she helped me with to expedite the process. She was attentive and always prepared for the next contraction. Words honestly cannot express how thankful I am for Maddie and her help throughout labor. She was truly a God send, and I would (and will) recommend her to anyone I know that is preparing to have a baby!!!

Maddie was so wonderful to work with. My husband and I do not have family in the local area and when we found out we were pregnant we knew we would want a doula by our side during our first pregnancy. From the start, Maddie had a calm and flexible demeanor which I know must be critical in this role. She calmed my nerves about my birth preferences and talked me through my questions I asked her after my Dr. appointments. As the birth approached, she was there constantly responding to my day-of questions seeking her advice. During the actual birth, she was hands on, massaging me, encouraging me and my husband, and making sure we were all in great hands in the hospital setting. It was a challenging and long birth in which I questioned abandoning my preferences many times, but then I would look and see Maddie telling me how amazing I was doing and that I could keep going. In the tense times of making some quick decisions, she calmly and assuringly guided me through the best birth I could have imagined as we navigated some hiccups such as baby size and pain. I can’t recommend Maddie enough. I know if it was just my husband and I, I wouldn’t have had the strength and support needed to achieve my birth wishes. We love Maddie and you won’t regret having her by your side!

I will start by saying that looking back, I truly feel like there is no way I could've made it through labor without Maddie being by my side! My husband and I were fortunate enough to have Maddie assist us in the birth of our first child. My ultimate goal was to have an unmedicated hospital birth, and as soon as we met Maddie we knew she would be the perfect doula to help us achieve the labor we were hoping for. She was so kind and knowledgeable and gave us lots of information to help us feel prepared and create our birth plan. Since this was my first experience with labor there were so many unknowns, but Maddie was always quick to provide clarity and reassurance. When it came to the actual labor, she was so supportive - I felt that her presence alone resulted in the hospital staff taking extra special care of me because of how well she advocated for my needs. She helped me into different positions to keep labor progressing, provided pain relief techniques during contractions, and continuously provided verbal encouragement, reminding me of my goals when things got hard. When my baby arrived, I couldn't believe that I had actually just accomplished my goal of an unmedicated birth! Her being with us also took so much pressure off of my husband, allowing him to focus on comforting me and even helping him sneak in some rest during the long night. My whole family was impressed with Maddie and so thankful that she was there for us during such a special and intense time. I will forever be raving about how amazing Maddie is to anyone who will listen! Choosing to have her by your side through your labor will be the best decision you make, and I am so grateful that we found her!

Having Maddie as my doula was the best decision we made for our growing family. She went above and beyond to make sure I was well taken care of from start to finish. I was not only comforted physically, but also emotionally and mentally. Highly reccomend all mamas-to-be whether it be first time or fourth time, to hire Maddie to be your doula.

Maddie was chosen to be our backup doula when our original doula was busy assisting with another birth. When my husband and I arrived at the hospital, I was already in active labor and dilated to a 7. I was in overwhelming agony due to some intense back labor. As soon as Maddie stepped through the door, she introduced herself and immediately jumped into action by performing a hip squeezes, as I sat on a birthing ball. I was flooded with instant relief. Once I shared that I was experiencing so much back pain, she whipped out her Tens unit, which provided so much relief. She was very involved throughout every excruciating contraction. She was never more than an arm's length away. All I had to do was look at her, and she just KNEW how to intervene to minimize some of my contraction pain. The hip squeezes she performed were the best.

Throughout my entire labor, she was right but my side, providing words of affirmation, encouragement, and reassurance. Her calming voice and strong presence helped guide me in making various decisions that arose when my previously planned unmedicated birth reached a point where interventions became necessary. The last thing I wanted was an epidural, but after laboring unmedicated for 14 hours, pushing for 2 hours, and ultimately being unable to fully push my baby through the birthing canal, Maddie reassured me that if I felt an epidural would help, then it was the right decision. Ultimately, my birth story ended in a c-section, and doulas are not allowed in the OR. Nonetheless, Maddie waited in our L&D room during surgery and was overjoyed when we returned with our baby boy. She went above and beyond to provide the best and most consistent care from start to finish.

Overall, I literally could not have done it without her! She was a true Godsend. She was and is a huge blessing, and we know that it was no mistake that she was assigned to be by our sides the day we brought our son into this world.

Maddie was a lifesaver! She was always professional, thoughtful, caring, reliable, and supportive. She was able to effectively compress pressure points on my lower back and advocate for me to receive nitrous oxide, instead of an epidural, achieving my goal of having an unmedicated VBAC. She was also a great support person for my mom and husband who were all so impressed by her. She was the on-call doula who came for our birth since the one we had been seeing was supporting another birth. Maddie was able to jump right in and take care of us without ever having any interaction with us before. Overall, we all had a great experience having a doula for the first time during a birth. I highly recommend Maddie!

Maddie was asked to come join my delivery when my doula had two moms in labor at the same time. The doula I had chosen was still able to be present with me almost my whole labor AND I had the bonus of having Maddie! Maddie was professional and knowledgeable but also made me feel comfortable with her immediately by bringing her positive and joy filled spirit into our birthing space. Thankful she was asked to join us and that I had the joy of having that life connecting experience with both Melissa and Maddie!

Maddie was absolutely great. After talking with her on the phone, she scheduled at time to meet us in person at our home. She took the time to get to know us and learn about what our hopes were for our birth. She walked us through a birth plan and made us consider things we didn't even know were an option. Her opinions/suggestions greatly improved our whole experience. Doctors really are only in the delivery room for the actual delivery, and nurses are in and out, and can go longer periods not in the room earlier in labor. It was really nice having Maddie there to explain things to us that would have been scary if we were by ourselves. She was always there to provide her insight whenever we asked for, but she never pushed for anything that wasn't what we desired. She was a calming presence the entire time. We were at the hospital in labor for 18 hours, and Maddie was by our side the whole time. We were skeptical about having a doula, since we weren't attempting "all natural", and still planned on an epidural, but we are so glad that we did. Maddie was great, we couldn't say better things about her, as both a person and a doula.

Madison was the best! This was my second birth so I knew what to expect as far as my own birth and what I would need in a doula but we met a few times before the birth to chat and get to know one another. Her whole demeanor and the way she speaks is very calming which I really liked. Then, when the time came that I wanted her with me during labor, at 3:00 am, we called her and she simply said she “ok” and headed over.

I was planning on a home birth and I honestly don’t know what I would have done without her! My midwife ended up not making it in time and Madison was super calm and collected the entire time as I birthed my baby! Without her there, I would have been freaking out but was able to keep my composure (as much as one can in labor) because she was with me and maintained the calm for us both. Also, using her TENS unit during labor was a game changer… so major bonus points for that!

Madison was AMAZING! She helped us navigate through so many unknowns before, during, and after labor. Couldn’t imagine having done birth without her! Even as a second time mom I still had many questions about thing. Madison was there willing and ready to help answer them. We ended up having such a fast birth I didn't get time for the epidural.
