Hospital births are my specialty, and I would love to help you navigate the ins and outs of all you options. I am also certified as an OR Doula at St Thomas Midtown.

Birth centers are such an amazing middle ground between hospital and home births. I birthed my yougest in a Birth Center and have helped several couples do the same.
Attends home births? Any Home Birth
Home birth is a great option that I fully support and love. Due to liabilities, there must be a Midwife or home birth Physician present.

I sought out the support of a doula to ease my anxiety centered around my plan for a natural delivery. From the beginning in working with Jennifer, I felt confident I had the additional support I needed for my birthing journey. It was important to me that I felt completely comfortable with my doula, and I had this feeling immediately with Jennifer. I had many questions that she helped with from all her experience and any moments of fear or doubt I had leading up to my due date, she helped dissolve. I was induced at 41 weeks and felt confident knowing that Jennifer and my husband were there by my side. The skill set Jennifer possesses was very reassuring to me. I knew in the heat of the moment, she would be the calm and steady hand guiding us through to ultimate our goal, the successful vaginal delivery of a healthy baby. Jennifer was an oasis of comfort and our birthing toolbox of information, techniques, and encouragement. It was important to me was that a doula did not take the place of my husband’s support in our birthing journey. Jennifer and my husband worked together seamlessly as my support system.
Jennifer was 100% supportive of my wishes and helped guide me to make decisions with absolutely no biases or pressure of any kind. Amidst the chaos, she reminded me that every decision in that room was mine to make and that I could take all the time I needed. I felt empowered to make all decisions and I am ever grateful for that.
Even more, the support didn’t end after delivery. Jennifer checked up on us in postpartum and made in-home visits. These visits of hers played a key role in my postpartum wellness and health, which I wouldn’t realize until much later.
The attentiveness and support I received throughout delivery and postpartum only comes from someone who genuinely cares about the health and well being of me and my baby.

As someone who is meticulous in their planning and organization I knew that preparing for a natural childbirth would require a strong support system. That is why after having a wonderful interview with Jennifer I decided to hire her for her doula support as well as placenta encapsulation services. I appreciated the time she took to get to know us as a couple to better support us on labor day. When the time came she helped us navigate when it was time to go into the hospital and managed to keep the transition a calm experience. I did the majority of my labor at home wanting to go in at the very last minute to birth my son. Jennifer was wonderful at keeping up with contractions and really observing my body language, gently guiding me with suggestions for natural pain management as well as positions to progress dilation. Her positive composure was essential in the hospital setting with aiding my husband with admittance as well as reinforcing his advocating my wishes for no unnecessary interventions. I had a traumatizing first birth experience with my eldest so it was incredibly important for me to take my power back with the birth of my second. With Jennifer’s help we were able to achieve every single one of our goals and I could not be more pleased with the experience. She even went the extra mile and took some candid photos of the birth and aftermath that I will cherish forever. Once we were home and settled in from the hospital she came over to do the placenta encapsulation and check in on us. My placenta was handled with care and respect and processed in an incredibly sterile manner in my own kitchen. She took the time to explain all the parts and their functions to my curious spouse and helped him make me a raw smoothie before dehydrating the rest. The whole experience from start to finish with Jennifer was one of the best decisions I have ever made and she is truly a gift to her clients and the doula profession. Hire her you will be so glad you did.

Jennifer was a wonderful doula to our family. Jen is a great listener, knowledgeable, and professional. Having Jen at your birth feels like having a best friend ready and willing to take care of you. When my baby would not immediately breath after birth Jen stayed calm and collected and helped hold my oldest child. I was able to do what I needed to because Jen had my back by taking care of and being a calming force for my child. I will always be deeply grateful for that. Hands down you will be lucky to have Jen on your birth team. - Kendra

I worked with Jennifer for two of my births and was so bummed when she relocated prior to my last. As someone who previously struggled with postpartum mood instability I was so excited to learn that Jennifer was skilled in the art of placenta encapsulation. She was so careful with my placenta and so prompt in hand delivering me my capsules. I found placentaphagy to be extremely beneficial for my moods as well as my breastmilk supply. Jennifer has so many years of experience working in the birthing field, I can not recommend working with her enough!

Jennifer was an amazing doula and I am so thankful to have had her on my birthing team. I ended up in early labor and she was right there by my side through it all. She guided me through everything. She was so encouraging, and guided me through the entire birth process and would explain different procedures etc so I knew what was going on and so I could make educated decisions about my birth. I had told her previously that I was also worried about my husband not eating or drinking (he did this last birth), so she helped make sure he was eating and drinking which eased my stress immensely. She snapped a few pictures at my request, and she even braided my hair right before delivering. She gave me the perfect amount of support for me and my husband without being overbearing. She is a very sweet person who is caring and passionate about her job. I would hire her again in an instant! She's even texted me a few times after birth just to check in. You really cannot go wrong by hiring Jennifer to be your doula.

I am so glad I found Jennifer! She is proffesional, freadly, and man does she know her stuff. I was so nervous even though this was my second, but Jennifer helped so much. During our appointments she went over the basics of what to expect, tought me and my husband breathing, relaxation, and calming techniques, helped us form the best birth plan that was perfect for us, and so much more. There is so much I could write but I'll leave you with this, hire her because you wont regret it!

When I found out I was expecting my 2nd child 6 years ago, I knew I wanted a doula. Jennifer is exactly the reason why. Birthing a child is hard work...that's why it's called labor. No woman should go it alone. From the birth plan to the laboring room, she was helpful every step of the way.
While I had a wonderful husband and supportive family and friends, it was nice to have Jennifer there who knew what to expect and intuitively what to do (or not do) without my having to tell her. She expertly advocated for my needs and desires to my husband, family, nurses, doctor, and staff while at the hospital. On birthing day, she showed up just when we needed her and thought of everything I never would have including music, low lighting with electric candles, healthy snacks, and even games to play in between contractions.
I highly recommend Jennifer to any woman preparing for childbirth. I am now a firm believer in the help a doula can provide and would strongly encourage every woman to have a doula by her side before and during the birthing process. If I was ever in need of doula services, I would not hesitate to use Jennifer's services again! What are you waiting for? Call her!

I am a mother of a handsome six-year-old and a beautiful three year old. When I was pregnant with my eldest, is when I first met Jennifer. She was so pleasant, gentle, caring, nurturing and also very informative. Although I am a researcher myself and love lots of Natural Things. I don't think I would have gotten through my pregnancy without totally freaking out and being unprepared if not for jen. Jennifer met with me multiple times throughout my pregnancy to help me write my birthing plan ,discuss options, talk about nursing and visit the doctor with me . Jennifer, you put my mind at ease during a very vulnerable time! My grandparents and mother are deceased and I really felt so sad without another womans guidance until You came alone. During labor, thank the heavens above she was there! Even having to put me in and out of the bathtub and spending most of the day assisting me, giving my husband guidance even while she herself had youngins at home. I am FOREVER grateful for the things she taught me , the assistance and supports she gave me and the friendship that stemmed from it. If I ever have another child, Jennifer will definitely be my 1st option. I Highly recommend this wonderful human being of a woman!

Jen is so great! She is extremely knowledgeable about all things birth. She knows exactly how to help moms before, during and after labor. She continues to do her research to stay up to date on the best evidence based practices. As a fellow doula I would recommend her over and over!
