I am writing a letter of recommendation for our postpartum doula Erica DiNallo. I was referred to Erica by my hypnobirthing instructor and boy and am I glad that I met her! I initially met Erica in the beginning of September for an interview when I was 38 weeks pregnant with our fourth baby. The interview couldn’t have gone any better! I completely felt comfortable with her and our personalities were a great match, so I was eager to start working with her as soon as possible. My goal was for Erica to get to know my other three children (Aria, 11 years old, John Luca, 5 and Gemma 2) before Alessandra was born so they could become more familiar with her.
Erica went out of her way to really get to know our children and to make them feel comfortable. On one of the day’s Erica was over she surprised the children by bringing a large bag of different colored fall leaves, crayons and some paper over. The kids really enjoyed the fun activity she had planned. They loved tracing the leaves on paper with all the different colored crayons she provided. Before Erica came along, I wasn’t too familiar what a postpartum doula does, but I quickly discovered how helpful they can be. I wish I had one right after my other three births. Erica shared some breastfeeding tips and techniques with me and provided assistance with basic newborn care. She also helped me out with picking up the groceries, dropping items off at the UPS store, laundry, dishes, etc. just so I could spend more time with the baby and rest. Those little things really helped make a big difference! I would highly recommend Erica to all expecting parents. She can help make the postpartum transition easier for families and she is great with children of all ages! My kids adored her, and she fit right in with our family! When we start planning for baby #5 I will be sure to give her a call again!

Working with Erica has been wonderful! From the first phone call, she made me feel comfortable and excited about pregnancy and the birthing process. With this being my first pregnancy, I have been super focused on researching EVERYTHING - reading books about natural unmedicated birth, listening to natural birth podcasts, getting birth stories and advice from friends and family who have recently had babies, the list goes on! For me, sitting down with Erica to go through her holistic childbirth education course was very reassuring and confirmed my decision to go for a natural, unmedicated birth. It was a great experience to add to my birthing education prep, and made me feel empowered to give birth.
I think the biggest benefit of working with Erica was getting my husband involved though! Watching "The Business of Being Born" together and bringing him along to meet with Erica really opened his eyes to why I'm choosing to try to avoid medication and intervention for our birth. It got him on board 100%! He has even been recommending the documentary to other pregnant friends of ours. We are planning to birth at a hospital and do not have a midwife or doula, so he will be my biggest support. It's so important to me to have him on board with our birth plan and to know that he's educated on the WHY behind it. Erica's course was informative and educational in a short amount of time - perfect for busy parents-to-be and especially for dads! We didn't have to commit to multiple classes, but still felt like we were well-educated. Of course, we've been doing other research and prep as well, but I would not hesitate to recommend adding Erica's course to your arsenal of birth prep tools! And bring your husband!

Erica was a knowledgeable, thorough and kind companion throughout my pregnancy and birth journey. She is very passionate about her work and it showed in the attention she gave both in our prenatal appointments and through my birth experience. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for help in navigating their birth options as well as anyone who needs physical and emotional support for their delivery.

Erica and I connected at the end of May and I had my baby at the end of September. Throughout those 4 months, she was a constant source of education, support and comfort. She was always available to send me yoga poses, helpful pregnancy tips for comfort & health, and resources like the childbirth class we took. When my baby was breech, she worked on different poses and exercises with me and sent me reassuring texts. Erica always knew when my OB appointments were and texted me to check in after them. If you're looking for a doula who is genuinely concerned and interested in your pregnancy, Erica is the doula for you! She is compassionate, dedicated, and helpful in a variety of circumstances. My labor lasted 36 hours and ended in a csection and Erica was always calm, advocated for me, and comforted me when I was in pain, exhausted, and upset. Her presence in the delivery room was very much appreciated. After my baby was born, Erica still checked in with me postpartum and showed again that she was genuinely interested in the well being of me and my baby. She's an absolutely wonderful person and being a doula is the perfect match for her personality.

Our experience with Erica Dinalla was great. We were glad that she was there at my wife labor. She is attentive, sensitive to any cultural situation, knowledgable and accessible.
On the day of my wife labor, which was in February, 2020. I had fever and body was weak. So nurse kept made me keep a distance between wife and I. But I was relieved that Erica was there because she recognized the situation and took charge to make sure my wife needs were taken care. My wife is a shy person and was adamant on not let duela see her private area before the labor. After seeing Erica Dinalla work and making sure my wife was comfortable. So my wife changed her mind, and Erica had full freedom during our son birth.
Our family experiences with Erica Dinalla was great. We are glad that we chose her for our son birth. I would definitely recommend her to my friends and family.

In the fall of 2019 we were lucky to have stumbled across Erica. We met her at approximately 36 weeks pregnant and started working with her immediately. Don’t mistake Erica’s politeness and good listening skills for shy or passive. She sat quietly and learned all about what my pregnancy and what I would want out of a Doula and birthing experience. She asked a lot of great questions that I had not thought of. And when I was unfamiliar with a process or idea she provided me a ton of resources so that I could make the best decision for me and my baby. She never pushed her own agenda and was great at reminding me of what I wanted and what my goals were. My husband was incredibly comfortable with her as well. Together the three of us welcomed my son into the world. It was a short period of time that we worked with Erica, 36 weeks to 40 weeks and four days, but she made a positive impact on us! We had meetings prior, phone and in person, she followed up after every dr apt I had, and sent encouragement when many others were not. The small things like having a folder of resources ready for our first meeting, and the birthing cards, or the small texts reminding me to stay on track and healthy in the last weeks were all so amazing.
When considering a Doula – consider one who will listen, take notes, help you learn, advocate for you and your family, stay calm, is eager to help, and has the drive and passion. Erica hit the mark on these things for us!
