Where do I start? Does the idea of having a warm, knowledgeable, relatable wing-woman in motherhood who dispenses helpful, evidence-based advice, with zero judgement sound appealing? Yes? Then Sarah is your woman! Sarah is a natural with babies and mothers and just a joy to be around. When you are living those vulnerable new-mom moments there are few people who can swoop in with as much grace.
What I was most grateful for, was her help with pumping and breastfeeding when a nursing strike and supply issues snuck up on me with my second baby. Sarah was a cheerleader, full of actionable tips: from a pumping program, to the latest literature on galactogues, to helping me navigate supplementing with formula while we got back on track. If it wasn't for her support, I'm not sure I would have been able to continue breastfeeding, something I really wanted to do.
I'm also grateful for the knowledge that had I made the choice to stop nursing (or if the breastfeeding refusal continued, and there wasn't much choice in the matter) Sarah would have been equally supportive and helpful. In a space that can seem so polarizing and filled with loaded questions about the right way to raise/feed/care for babies Sarah's balanced and empathetic approach is a breath of fresh air.
