Hannah came as a gift to me from my mother in law for the first month after the birth of my twins. We had her two nights a week over night. She was the biggest gift I’ve ever been given. She gave us time to recharge, took care of our sweet girls, fed them and changed them and even was so sweet to wash my pump parts and get things ready for me so I didn’t have to. Like the level of support we received from her during this time was worth every penny. But to be honest it was the emotional support I needed most and she was there for me. After the month was up and our care with her ended, I realized I wasn’t ready to lose her. I asked her to come back and she did, just once a week but that one day a week was such a light at the end of what sometimes felt like a tunnel I was in. Thank you Hannah. I appreciate you and your team more than you know. My only regret was not hiring you leading up to my birth.

I can’t rave enough about Stumptown Doulas! Hannah Woods (owner) was made to do this work. I have never experienced support like this before. Hannah is so patient, kind and caring. She took the time to work with me when I had so many needs and questions, and I never felt like I wasn’t being heard or listened to. I highly recommend Stumptown Doulas. Thank you for always meeting me with grace, knowledge and kindness.

I was lovingly supported by my wonderful doula, Hannah, while welcoming two (out of six) of my babies earthside.  They are two years apart.  One was born in a hospital; the other at a water-birth center.  With her intuitive guidance and kind encouragement, I felt empowered.  I had very positive birth experiences, and highly recommend her services.

Hannah Woods at Stumptown Doulas was my absolute lifeline when my son was born. As a single mom, I can't even begin to express how much her support meant to me. She went above and beyond—gently educating me, caring for my son like he was her own, and even making up a sweet little song about his chubby toes! Because of her, I was able to truly enjoy the experience of becoming a new mom instead of feeling overwhelmed and lost. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without her. If you’re looking for a team of doulas who are not only knowledgeable but also incredibly kind and nurturing, Stumptown Doulas is the one.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful Hannah is! She’s very well informed, her personality and compassion makes a mother feel so much more at ease during such a beautiful, but difficult time in life from pregnancy through postpartum. My husband and I reached out to Stumptown Doulas in preparation for the arrival of our first baby. The owner Hannah was a pleasure to correspond with- quick and clear communication, thorough, organized, and a great system in place! I felt like the doula profiles we were matched with really gave us a sense of the experience and personality of each doula. We unfortunately did not find a doula with Stumptown that fit our needs (a huge must-have for us was to work with a bilingual doula as my husbands first language is Spanish- Stumptown does not currently have any Spanish speaking doulas) and I am genuinely sad we won't be able to work with them! Definitely worth your time and energy to reach out to Hannah and see if you can find a good fit for your doula needs!

So thankful I found Stumptown Doulas when I did. Just in time for my birth.
I had the pleasure of working with Rachel Gathrite and 10/10 recommend Rachel as a doula and all around human!
I wasn’t sure if we were going to have a doula this time around. It was my 3rd natural birth and my husband and I have been a pretty well oiled machine with the previous 2 but this time around we had more difficult curve balls thrown our way. We found and met Rachel the week before I ended up giving birth.
She was absolutely pivotal to our experience. She was a strength to me that I didn’t even know I needed. She held my hand in some of my most difficult moments and gently talked me through what I needed to hear. Her strong faith in God was the most important part to me.
She never made us feel like a burden, even when things took longer than expected. She was grace filled, equipped with ideas and tools to help, and even made sure I was in a good position for pushing which may have been the reason my baby’s shoulders didn’t get stuck like my previous 2 did.
I cannot recommend her enough!

We were supported by Annie Scott as our Doula and have only wonderful things to say about her. She was an incredible support for us during my very intense labor and birth experience. She was thoughtful, kind and an asset for both myself and my husband. The birth experience was the utmost challenging experience for me with many ups and downs and twists and turns and Annie was a pivotal part of that experience. She followed my birth plan as best she could considering all of the curveballs we were thrown and advocated for me when I was losing the ability to do so.

She truly is an incredible human being. Thank you for putting us in touch with her. We will be lifelong friends after sharing that special experience with her and welcoming our son Wayland.

We had a great experience with Stumptown Doulas! Hannah was easy, warm, and timely in communication, and was able to suggest a number of doulas to match our budget, family, and doula "wishlist", one of whom (Rachel) was a perfect fit. Rachel was amazing support at the birth and also for preparing for labor and processing the birth afterwards. If we have more kids, we'd love to work with her again or another Stumptown Doula!

Choosing Stumptown Doulas for our birth was one of the best decisions we made during pregnancy! Both of our doulas went way above and beyond to care for us and our baby throughout pregnancy and labor and delivery. They were gentle, caring, generous, thoughtful, perceptive, and knowledgeable.They value the whole family and seek to support in the experience the family wants. We know our pregnancy and birth experience was different because of our doulas, and we’re so thankful! We are recommending Stumptown to friends and family and would recommend them to anyone else wholeheartedly.

I cannot speak highly enough of my experience with Hannah of Stumptown Doulas. She was an absolute lifeline through my labor, working tirelessly to support me in so many ways. She is extremely knowledgeable, intuitive, respectful and genuinely kind. Finding her and having her experience this life changing event with me is truly one of the best things that has happened in my life and I can’t imagine my birth experience without her there. She also offered much needed postpartum care and has been a rich source of wisdom and comfort to me through my experience of becoming a first time mom.

Hannah saved my wife and I. I truly believe she doesn't charge enough for the piece of mind we received as new parents. From sleeping through the night, feeding times, mental support and general guidance across the board, she is truly exceptional.

Hannah was my doula for my very first birth back in 2014.  I was the last of her training births while she was still a student and I will never stop being thankful that I had her with me during my experience! She was so kind and warm. She answered all my 10,000 questions without ever making me feel silly for asking. During my labor, she was able to help me do deep lunges to get back to turn out of back labor. I was beyond thirsty during labor and my husband pretty much just kept running out into the hall to get me more water and it was so wonderful to have Hannah by my side the entire time. We had spent lots of time going through my wishes for the birth and I knew that she would advocate for me should I be unable to- that was such a comfort. My baby's head came out, but her shoulders got stuck (shoulder dystocia)- the midwives made me get out of the birthing tub and up on a table and were counting how long it had been and reaching inside of me to turn the baby...it was all so scary and something that I had not read about or had any knowledge about. It was SO comforting having Hannah there to explain what exactly was going on and reassure me that everything was ok. She was the calm during all the chaos! After baby was born, the doctors rushed her off and she didn't breathe right away. Again, my husband went off with the baby and I was so thankful to have Hannah there just for me! As I cried, she prayed with me and I will never forget the way she was able to keep me calm and present during such a stressful time. She visited after we were home and was able to recount some of the birth that I wasn't clear on.  I would highly highly recommend Hannah and her work! This was my only experience with her and this was 6+ years ago, so I am sure she is even more of a treasure to work with now!

Hannah Cason, founder of Stumptown Doulas, played a very meaningful role in my son's birth. I have worked with wonderful doulas in the past, but Hannah was the warmest, most positive and genuinely cheerful of them all. Her positivity and problem solving skills were a huge blessing to me when my labor stalled overnight. I woke up feeling discouraged and asked Hannah if she would come out to my house for a while. She quickly obliged, brought me tea, and helped me think of new things we could do to get my contractions moving again. My son was born early that afternoon, and Hannah was with my husband and me every step of the way.
