Where to begin!? I relocated to Idaho at 29 weeks pregnant and was feeling uneasy about switching care teams/hospitals/states in the 3rd trimester. I found Heather online and my partner and I met with her for an initial consultation at a local coffee shop nearby and within the first 2 minutes we knew she was for us. She has a warm demeanor and a ton of knowledge, plus she has this knack for sharing tips and tricks ranging from hydration and diet to birthing positions to baby carrying. The biggest benefit was having Heather present during labor and delivery. She was hands on in just the right way, and always encouraged and guided my husband when he was looking to help but was unsure what to do. I knew she would advocate for my wants and needs (even in the event I was unable to do so myself), and she came through with the little things (cold wet towel, ice chips, massage, etc.) that I didn't know I needed. I am certain that there was a positive and profound trickle down effect of her presence that put me at ease and resulted in a more gratifying birth experience. I feel I had a satisfying birth and I attribute a big part of that to having Heather in the room with us. 10/10, highly recommend her! Don't just get a doula, get Heather!

If you are looking for a postpartum doula, this is your sign! Heather was so kind and nurturing during my postpartum experience. She understood and anticipated my needs whether that was making sure I was always hydrated (while breastfeeding), nourished (she brought me homemade bread!), or just heard/validated in my feelings. I felt so comfortable with her holding my baby so I could actually shower and take care of things around the house while knowing my baby was safe and cared for. She even helped me navigate my 4 yr olds feelings of transitioning to a big sister role. Thank you, Heather! 10/10 would recommend!!!

Words can’t begin to express how much Heather means to me! She was our dream doula! I felt so supported in all my decisions from the start. She was quick to arrive at our house when we called her and was so encouraging and positive throughout my labor. She gave my husband the tools he needed to feel confident in helping me as well, which was really important to me. Heather has such a calming and encouraging voice, I had no doubts that I could deliver my baby unmedicated with her by my side. She made me feel so comfortable throughout my whole labor and delivery. She got me to the hospital just in time to deliver my baby, which is exactly what I wanted. She helped me advocate for and achieve my dream birth. Heather has the kindest heart, I knew she was rooting for me the whole time. She made me feel prepared and confident. I can’t recommend Heather enough!

Heather was suching a blessing to my birthing experience. Her support started months before the actual birth when we had our two pre-birth meetings. She provided a judgement-free space where we were able to discuss stages of labor and expectations. Heather's humility and openess was complemented by deep knowledge from prior experience supporting a variety of birthing scenarios. On the day of the acutal birth Heather's intuition and kindness made her an essential part of my birth team. She did a great job anticipating my needs in a way that not only supported me directly, but supported my husband, allowing him to remain by my side while she fetched cool towels, water, and anything else I couldn't have thought to ask for in the throws of labor. My first birth was quick, unmedicated and all around positive thanks to Heather's support!

After meeting Heather a few times, I knew she was going to be a good match as my doula. I was hoping to find someone who felt like a comforting aunt, and she was just that. During the visit just a few weeks before my due date, she went over various pain relieving techniques and positions to try once I went into labor at home. She was very thorough and went over many details with me, my husband, and my sister, who were all going to be a part of my Birth Team. The night I went into labor, my sister called her and she arrived at my house around 4 AM. Immediately after arrival, I felt a calming presence with her around. Her hands were very soothing and she jumped right in reminding me to relax between contractions. She worked very well with my sister and husband, in order to provide counterpressure with each contraction. It's actually quite impressive the physical demands of a Doula and the Birth Team in general. She helped coordinate timing to go to the Birth center. At all times she remained by my side again working with my sister to provide counterpressure  and  coordinating comfort measures for me. After all was said and done, she was very kind and supportive about my birth. She brought me warm tea and complemented the work I had done to bring my baby into the world. I don't think I would be able to have had my son naturally without her by my side. I highly recommend Heather and I'm so thankful to have met her and had her as my Doula. She's truly an angel.

Highly recommend Heather!! I had never worked with a doula before and didn’t know what to expect, but I couldn’t be happier and was above and beyond what I expected. Heather is so kind and caring, she worked with me laboring at home and somehow knew just how to help my body work through the contractions and suggested new things to make them so manageable. I didn’t realize how painful the contractions really were until I had to do the car ride/contractions without her until she could join me again at the hospital! I’m still in awe of the experience I had, this was my 2nd baby and wish I had this experience with my first one.
Can’t thank Heather enough!!

Heather was an absolute pleasure to work with! From the moment we first spoke, I loved her confidence, and I really appreciated her stance on being a birth doula that really focuses on making things comfortable for the mama by being "hands on." I am a person who loves to be massaged and rubbed, and when it came down to having the intense contractions, I looked forward to the breaks in between because Heather (as well as my husband) was massaging me and I felt like it took my mind to a very peaceful place. My labor progressed very quickly, so Heather met my husband and me at the birthing center instead of at home. Had I needed her help coping at home, she would have been there for me. Everything went smoothly with the birth, and the minor complication was that I tore a little deeper than what the midwives could repair in house. I was advised to go to the hospital to have a thorough assessment of how deep my tear was. I did not want my newborn and husband to be sitting at the hospital waiting around for me for hours, so I sent them home. Heather drove me to the hospital, and stayed with me the entire time! She helped to advocate my desires to the medical staff in a very professional manner that did not step on anyone's toes. Needless to say, my husband and I were sooooooo happy we had Heather at our side. Not only did we fall in love with our newborn that day, but with Heather as well! She holds a special place in our hearts now, and we know who we'll want with us when we're ready for baby #2. We love you Heather!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband and I were recommended to hire a Doula by the Midwives at our Birth Center. Since this was my first baby and I had decided to do a natural birth, we took the Midwives advice and hired a Doula. Two days before our daughter's birth, our original Doula notified us that she was unable to be at our birth and instead referred us to Heather.

Heather came over the next night and my husband and I connected with her right away. She was so sweet and caring and we visited in between my contractions like we had known each other for years. She showed my husband some techniques to help ease my back pain during contractions and she volunteered to stay with me until I fell asleep that night to help me during contractions and allow my husband to get some sleep. Around 2am the next morning, it was time to go to the birth center. Heather arrived within 30 mins and was by my side until about 8pm, two hours after our daughter was born.

I had a very long and hard labor and Heather was an absolute blessing through the entire process! She not only took amazing care of me, she made sure everyone in the room stayed hydrated and fed the entire time. Her focus was 100% on us, she didn't even take breaks or time for herself. She helped me try different laboring positions and helped ease each contraction, she made sure I always had an ice cold towel on my face and neck, she encouraged me and comforted me both physically and emotionally during each stage of labor and delivery, and once our daughter finally arrived, she assisted me with breastfeeding. I really don't think I could have had a natural birth without Heather. Everyone involved was highly impressed with her service, one of the midwives made the comment that she wished Heather could be cloned and be the Doula at all births at the birth center.

I will forever be grateful for everything Heather did for me and my family and I would highly recommend her to anyone considering a Doula.

Heather is a great listener, a knowledgeable guide, a wonderful doula! She provided many useful resources to help us with our birth planning, and she always listened carefully to our preferences and history to best fit our needs. She really got to know both myself and my partner and became one of our most trusted thought partners when it came to our birth. Because she could take more time and care than healthcare providers, we really valued her insight and guidance into things we should be thinking about.

I ended up needing a c-section, and Heather was very flexible and supportive throughout this change in circumstance. She checked in on us often and made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable. We also enjoyed our postpartum visit with her to talk about the birth and how the early days of parenthood were going. I hope to use Heather's services again for future births!

Heather is an amazing, patient, and kind doula. She stayed with us through 20 hours of labor at home, a transfer to the hospital, and seven more hours plus postpartum! Heather was an absolute rock star and not only helped me manage 20 hours of unmedicated labor, she also kept her cool throughout the entire labor process and was able to help and support us in ways we didn't know we would need: like helping pack a last minute hospital bag, finding a missing tank top, and helping communicate with hospital staff. Thank you, Heather!
