Such a blessing to have this wonderful lady at my home birth!!! We spent time together eating breakfast and laughing while I labored in my home with my daughter. When things really got moving with my labor she transitioned to different essential roles as was necessary, and remained kind, calm and compassionate! She was that calm soothing voice I longed for as I began pushing. She used water to soothe me through my rushes and that was just what I needed, just when I needed it! When my little girl was born only a few hours later she stayed long after the midwives had gone and ensured that dinner was all done and brought dinner up to me and my husband. She stayed until the baby and I were comfortably settled into bed, dinner was eaten, and breastfeeding was well established. Along the way during my pregnancy and for a time there after we remained in close contact. She was always available to answer my questions and address any concerns I may have, and of course is ALWAYS happy to receive updates on the baby! She truly was such a blessing and an integral part of my pregnancy, labor, delivery, and breastfeeding journey with my daghter! I wouldn't have it any other way!!!
Therese was just who we needed for our first-time labor/delivery! We had the birth outcome we imagined in large part because of her patience and knowledge for what a laboring mama needed during the long and winding process. My husband was more confident in his role with Therese there to trouble shoot with throghout the long day in the hospital, and in recounting our birth story in the days after, we kept coming back to how fortunate we were to have Therese by our side. She met with us in our home twice before our due date; this helped us build a relationship with her as she fielded our questions and guided us in creating our plans for what to prepare/what to expect for laboring both at home and in the hospital. Therese was quick to answer our questions before, during, and after our birth, and she came to visit our newborn with postpartum tips for mama after we settled in at home. What a blessing! We would do it again the same way if we could, with Therese by our side. Thanks, Therese!
Therese is an absolute gem of a person, and will always be special to us after the beautiful birth of our daughter. From the first day my husband and I met her, we just knew she was the right person to have at our birth. She was supportive, caring, intuitive, and such a joy to work with! She has us laughing immediately and lightened any worries we had about the birth process. I also loved her knowledge of natural remedies to assist with labor, which was so important to us when I was 10 days overdue. Although I had an induction, having Therese there during the two days of my labor was a Godsend! She was amazing at knowing how to calm my nerves, and put my worries to rest at having at being at the hospital (I wanted an all natural birth) and really put things in perspetive. She was also a fierce protector of my wishes at the hospital and served as an effective advocate. Her combination of warm and gentle support mixed with firm and steady protection was increidble.
It was nothing short of a magical birth and I really have to thank Therese for being there and reading the signs which helped me have a smooth and safe delivery. She was there for us even after the birth when I was having breastfeeding issues. How incredible is that?! We need more people like Therese and I'm so grateful she was and continue to be a part of our little family. I would highly recommed Therese to anybody and wish her lots of successful birth stories to come.
Therese is a warm, wonderful person that makes you feel as if you are being mothered as you prepare to become a a mama yourself.
In the final months of my pregnancy, she offered great support: She gave me an awesome, skilled foot massage that had my swollen feet looking and feeling normal again. I also credit her with saving me from getting induced as I followed her tips to jump start labor since I was a week overdue (one special smoothie later...).
She was respectful of our choice to have my husband be our primary support person during the labor but stayed with us throughout the long (overnight) labor and offered advice based on her experience when we had to make tough decisions in our exhaustion.
Therese was always available by text, phone or email when we had questions and came to visit us after the baby was born as well. Her focus is healthy mom, healthy baby and she will support your decisions.
All in all, Therese is a great doula, dedicated to her work!
Therese is an absolutely fantastic person. She has a warmth unlike anybody else I know (and I know a lot of people having lived in various countries since almost 25 years. When I met her I felt her warmth from her hug and hazel friendly eyes. She listened to me and knows her stuff. She has her own story which gives meaning to the work she does because each child she helps bring into this world she is like a Mom to or Auntie. I will be keeping in touch with her as a friend or family member and checking in on her from time to time as she will with me. Even if I don't hear from her in a while I know she is always there. This is the true meaning of what a doula should be. Not some (young) business-like transactional relationship which is a vibe I got from all the other top doulas I interviewed in the area. None had the same approach for many reasons which I won't get into here, and some charged way more! My stepmom is a nurse and she agreed with Therese's approach and beliefs of working with the natural body not just for the birth but after. Therese knows all the techniques and she also has a colleague who can help with lactation issues as part of her package (free consultation) if required. I had a particulaly complicated birth with pre-eclampsia and many drugs to combat this but she held my hand and got me through it every step of the way. She was there the entire 52 hours and helped my husband through the ordeal. If you need more info I am happy to be telephoned but you won't regret your choice if you go with Therese.
After speaking with several doulas and working with a different doula for the birth of our first son, my husband and I selected Therese because of her wealth of experience and her nurturing spirit. My son was coming quickly on a rainy, Monday morning and getting to the hospital through D.C.-metro traffic was highly stressful. But Therese came just in time and provided us with calm guidance through an unmedicated birth. Breathing techniques, positioning and even the right music made such a difference. I thank God she was there to help coach both me and my husband who appreciated her full support of his role as my partner. She saw the birth of my big, beautiful son and stayed with us for a while after which was also a blessing. She also came to check on us a few weeks later. From the beginning Therese was full of great advice and sound counsel and it was a pleasure shaing this experience with her.
Working with Therese was a fabulous experience. We wanted a doula who was knowledgable and extremely supportive. With Therese's help we were able to labor at home a for a long time (10 hrs) and got to the hospital when I was 7 centimeters dilated. She met us at the hospital and helped to guide my husband and I through the birthing process. She helped me to work through contractions using massage and helped my husband know what to expect and when to advocate for me. Therese respected all of our wishes and aided us greatly. The doctor and nurses who delivered the baby all expressed their appreciation for Therese and felt she was a pleasure to work with. The doctor who delivered our baby asked for Therese's contact information so that she could refer other women to her.
After the birth of our son Therese visited and called several times and even arranged for a lactation consultant to come and assist with breastfeeding. As this was our first child we could not have imagined a more smooth and supportive experience. We will definitely use her again when we have our next child! Thanks Therese!

Therese was everything we thought she would be and more. We immediately connected. We choose her as our doula because of her mothering spirit. It was her nurturing energy we felt would translate into her hands on healing practices. As we revealed our fears and concerns with her, she was able tailor her services to our needs. She frequently sent us information and video excerpts to address our specific issues and was on call surrounding our due date. When baby was breech, she supported us to help the baby turn. When we finally began to experience signs of labor, Therese got out of bed and helped us through a very long night. She massaged my feet and back with soothing oils so that we could both get a little sleep. In the morning she left to get more supplies and met us at the hospital, never leaving our side until baby was born and I was ok. This was well after midnight. She was an advocate for us and a true angel. She made sure that we were
able to have the experience we envisioned. When Georgi was born, it marked not the end of our journey with Therese…but the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
