Lauren Smith-Pansano

I never really considered that I'd need a doula in addition to my husband during the birth of our first baby. I felt confident in my plan for a natural childbirth. Things went beautifully, really. And it was the hardest thing I ever did. I shudder to think of how much more difficult it would have been without Lynda there with me. She is skilled, knowledgeable and even better she has a natural intuition of the birthing process. She seemed to offer GOLDEN threads throughout the process, all in perfect timing. Each time she redirected my breathing, reminded me of my strength, acknowledged my work, held my hand through an eternity, gave me a cool towel when I was on fire, a warm one when I was freezing over and over and over. If you've never experienced these needs, they may sound trivial. In the moment, they are everything! She worked seamlessly with my husband through the entire process (all night!). Her devotion to me was truly remarkable and I never expected that anyone could give so much. I had no idea how much support I'd actually need during a healthy, normal birth.

Leading up to the birth, she really wanted to have an understanding of our desires for our birth experience so that she could best support us. She had great insight and good humor through my pregnancy. She established rapport with my husband so that he felt very comfortable going into labor, knowing she'd be there. She also helped ease his fears of the upcoming process, while I was busy with my own experience and lacked patience for his.

I could write for days, but there really aren't enough words to say what Lynda means to us or how grateful we are for the experience she shared with us. I could not recommend her more highly, whatever your birthing experience goals are.
