Latisa helped bring my first child into the world, amid a global pandemic. We labored a good while at my home, and she fit right in with my family. Once we arrived at the hospital, she supported us virtually (current COVID-19 restrictions didn’t allow her to be with us). I loved her ability to adapt to the environment around her, while still influencing it to be what I wanted: calm, quiet and focused support. She is knowledgeable of the current, evidence-based laboring methods, and presented information in an understandable way. She also was incredible at helping me through contractions - from applying physical pressure, to her calm, reassuring demeanor... Latisa is made for this, and my birthing experience could not have been as incredible as it was without her.

Truth be told I had not considered having a doula until the covid crisis was underway and my birth plan started to change.  I wasn't even sure what a doula was or what their specific role was in a birth. 
I found Latisa on Instagram through some random searches and recommendations. Her page looked intriguing and I messaged her one afternoon. She contacted me right away and we ended up talking on the phone pretty soon after that. She helped explain her role, a typical doulas role, the basics of a midwife, and even recommended several Midwives for me to contact. She set aside time to answer my many questions, and all without any pressure. 
She is a genuine and loving person, which you can tell right away. I immediately felt calm and confident in her ability and understanding. I knew she would be someone I could trust in the most trying time of my life, natural birth. 
the weeks leading up to the birth she was available for phone calls and texts, we had easy meetings, and just felt more comfortable every time we talked. 
when I was in labor she was right there as soon as I texted her. Talking me through it , answering questions, and being a constant reassuring voice when I could hardly think straight. 
I had a crazy and relatively quick labor, which put Latisa in an unusual situation, but she stepped up to the plate and handled it in a calm and controlled way. 
I highly recommend Latisa as a doula, and if I ever have more kids I will certainly be calling her first thing. 
So much love and appreciation for this amazing woman. 
I cannot recommend Latisa enough. You'd be crazy not to have her by your side.
We also had Latisa come back for the first 48 photos , and she did such an amazing job! We love the pictures and can't wait to send them to friends and family !
we wish she could've done our wedding photos !
