As part of the CAPPA postpartum certification, I had to assist 3 families in postpartum situations. I volunteered 25 or more hours to each of these families. I helped them with holding and swaddling of their newborn, baby wearing, optional breastfeeding positions, bathing the baby, tidying up and laundry, as well as watching over their newborns while mom was able to shower and rest.
Your first visit will be a complimentary visit. We will spend time as a get to know you session and talk about what services I can provide to help you. Future visits will be by the hour with a 4hr. minimum.

Denise is absolutely fabulous. She helped at the hospital and we were well prepared at home. I work from home so Denise was invaluable in assisting my wife with our new baby, and generally providing the wisdom of someone who knows just how to treat a precious new born. Thank you Denise!

My husband and I hired Denise for postpartum support and I can’t imagine my journey without her. I had a planned cesarean and prior to delivery Denise did a home assessment with me to best prepare our home for the baby. Her knowledge and guidance was so helpful as a new mom. I call her magic because she truly is magical. She supports your decisions and does everything she can to help you. For me it was breastfeeding. She handles everything we would normally do such as household maintenance and provides excellent infant care and more. I wish I could keep her on the payroll forever. If you’re looking for someone who will look after you physically, mentally, and emotionally while you figure out the newness of a baby & help with infant care, she is a top notch choice.

We hired Denise when I was pregnant with my second child. She was a huge help in easing the transition to a bigger family. She is very knowledgable about all things baby. My husband and I felt confident in Denise's knowledge and comfort with our baby and our older child. She is loving, patient and kind to our children. They love her dearly and that is all you can ask for!

I can't really remember a time when Denise wasn't a part of our lives! She started with our family when my middle son was about 8 months old and was a part of our lives until we moved out of state last summer so for a total of 3 years. She is the most calm, caring, nurturing woman and even though she was only with us once a week she felt like family. She's the only person either of my boys took bottles for, she got them to nap with ease, she helped me with laundry and dishes, she braided my daughter's hair, read them all books, sunggled them, soothed them, did crafts, colored, and played endless games. She was incredibly knowledgable about breastfeeding, swaddling, sleeping, etc. She always had an open ear and was a wonderful sounding board. If I could move her to NC with us I would! I cannot reccommend Denise enough, we miss her dearly!

My experience with Denise as a post-partum doula was incredibly valuable. As a first-time mom who lost my own mother at an early age, I was surprised by how difficult the transition was. I just hadn't known what to expect - I thought that being a mom would "come naturally". I was exhausted and overwhelmed. I found Denise through a fortuitous search on facebook, and she was a god-send. I did not know what a post-partum doula was, just that I needed help. What Denise provides is gentle (non-judgemental) guidance, a listening ear and counsel when needed. And when you just need a little time to shower and mentally refresh, she is also absolutely amazing with infants. My son took to her instantly and I think it was a great transition to him having someone - other than mom - nurturing him. He would nap for her easily, whereas I had to spend sometimes 2 hours trying to soothe him to sleep. She showed me all the tips and tricks of swaddling, breast-feeding positions, staying sane... all the essentials! I can't recommend Denise highly enough.
