Where do I even begin!? It was a dream come true to have Jocelyn present during our birth. She did a fantastic job of keeping me and my husband calm throughout the entire process. I felt as if we were always on the same page throughout the entire experience. She did a great job of managing our expectations but also respected our wishes when we diverted from our inital birth plan -- I wanted to deliver naturally but ended up getting an epidural (for the record, I have zero regrets!). Going into my birth, we were told my baby was on the larger size (expecting him to be anywhere from 9-10lbs) so this had me really nervous as I really wanted to deliver my son with little to no intervention (and to especially avoid a c-section!). I initially went into labor on a Friday night and was able to labor at home all day Saturday because of Jocelyn's guidance. I never imagined how calm labor could be and being in the comfort of our own home for this initial part of the birth was an amazing experience. When I finally arrived to the hospital Saturday evening around 11pm, I was already at 7cm! Around 5am on Sunday morning I started to push and after 3hrs and still no baby, doctors started to intervine saying that they do not typically let their patients push for more than 3hrs and I got nervous that a C-section was even being talked of. However, my baby's heartrate was staying strong and I still felt like I had more in me to keep going so we decided to keep pushing. After 5hrs total of pushing, my strong healthy beautiful 10lb2oz baby boy arrived. I truely can say because of Jocelyn's guidance, I was able to have an incredible birth experience and if not for her, I think I would have ended up having a c-section. You will not regret working with her!!!

Jocelyn worked with my partner and me during a VERY long overnight labor. She was a dream come true. Her presence was natural, unobtrusive, and extremely respectful. She is clearly gifted at reading the mood in a room and anticipating needs/desires. When the time came to transition from home to hospital, she worked seamlessly with medical staff to ensure my birth plan was disseminated and honored as best it could be. She served as an in the moment problem solver, a team player when my partner or the nurse needed a moment, and a calming force that allowed me to have a birth experience I could reflect on with positive feelings, despite challenges and curve balls (because aren't there always?) I would be honored to have Jocelyn as my doula if the opportunity arises again.

Words cannot describe how impactful Jocelyn was during the birthing process for our son, Daniel. Jocelyn was knowledgeable, caring, and calm. This was my first child and I had an unmedicated, natural birth. It was so important that my husband and I had a doula who felt like an advocate and coach. I was in quite intense labor for nearly 12 hours in the hospital. Jocelyn was by my side the entire time. She knew the right massage techniques. She also helped my husband set up my room as I requested in my birthing plan (music, aromatherapy, dim lights, hyponobirthing affirmations that I printed taped on the walls.) She listened and was very patient. Having a doula was THE BEST decision my husband and I made. Especially as a mother trying hyponobirthing and natural delivery. I give my highest recommendation to Jocelyn. Thank you for everything, Jocelyn! You will forever be a part of the Davis family.
