Me and my husband are very grateful we had Rachel by my side when I birthed our baby!
I did not plan to have a doula. I have changed my mind at the last moment, and I am extremely happy I did. I meet Rachel a day before I birthed my son, I clicked with her right the way. My water broke Thursday night around 12 am, she came to my house like an hour later, and stayed with me and my husband until the baby was born, Friday at 9 pm. My husband was very happy to have her with us. With Rachel by my side my husband felt more confident, more relaxed. He knew I am in good hands. She was very, very helpful: she helped me take a shower before we headed to the Birth Center, she talked with me when needed, she gave me water, food, she held my hand, my leg, my whole body. She massaged my back, helped the midwife to shake my belly, so my baby can change his position. During my labor Rachel was very supportive, understanding, patient and calm. She loves what she does. I am blessed I had her by my side when our son was born, we needed her. I am happy and grateful that God put her on my way. I recieved support, and I made a friend.
Rachel is the birth companion every mother deserves. Having her made a world of a difference. She was my birth educator, my contraction soother, my cheerleader, my shoulder to lean on, my listening ear. She is worth every penny. It’s like a whole army of people and resources in just one person.
As a first-time mom, you don’t know what you don’t know, but with Rachel as my doula I feel like she had me covered. She spent time answering my questions about birthing, breastfeeding, heck she even helped look through my baby registry and made some great recommendations.
When I was in labor, I never once felt like I was doing it alone. Rachel was readily available via a quick phone call or text. She’s so incredibly passionate and so good at what she does. Always so kind, genuine and understanding. During birth, she helped ease every contraction, made sure I was hydrated and fed, helped capture amazing photos and remained calm while helping me continue to be positive.
Even after the birth, she encouraged my decision to breastfeed and connected me with a lactation consultant when she saw my struggle. She’s even given me tips on baby-led weaning and positive parenting techniques. She’s the reason I can look back at my birth and think, “That was amazing!” I’d highly, highly recommend this doula!!
Una súper buena experiencia.Ella me ayudo muchísimo .Fue una gran soporte para mi en ese momento.Estoy muy agradecida con ella.Es muy profesional en su trabajo.Muy agradecida con ella.
My experience with Rachel as my doula was dreamlike. Prior to labor I was a bit confused on the progression of everything and how it would take place however, Rachel explained everything so well that I could anticipate what was going to take place next and remain in a good frame of mind in order to proceed with an unmedicated, vaginal delivery. Rachel consistently applied counter pressure and incorporated my partner in pain relief methods. Her positive affirmations made everything progress beautifully and when I thought I couldn't make it, I remembered what she told me a few sessions prior, "when you feel like you can't go on, you're almost done" and she was right. After entering the birth pool my baby boy made it earthside 45 minutes later. Postpartum, Rachel followed up by visiting me, helping me adjust to motherhood and securing a good lattch between baby and I. Rachel has been a consistent help even now 10 months later answering baby related questions with confidence and an evidence base to every answer. I am forever grateful for my experience with her and look forward to delivering healthy babies in the future with her as my doula.
