Having the team from Wildwood Birth gave me the extra confidence I needed to have the birth experience I was hoping for. After experiencing some pain in late pregnancy I sought out a doula very last minute and was so relieved when I found Vera and Elizabeth. They jumped on board to help ease my stress and give me tools to prepare for labor. The pair are calm, non judgemental, thoughtful, kind, great listeners, full of knowledge, and seek out tools to meet your needs. I wanted a natural un-medicated birth and they helped me do just that. I will be forever greatful for their supportthey offered on the wildest adventure of my life. I highly reccomend them.. and their delicious lactation cookies!

Vera and Elizabeth were such a light throughout our journey. When we first met Vera and Elizabeth, they brought such a warm and welcoming presence, immediately knew they were the ones to be there by our side in such an intimate moment.
Although this was my second pregnancy, our first baby was breech, which resulted in a c-section. Being a candidate for VBAC, our eyes became open to how much we didn’t know. There are so many options throughout pregnancy and laboring, that no one prepares you for, except they did. We felt so prepared with the pre-labor coaching they gave us, no books, classes or videos you could read/watch to provide you with their level of knowledge and guidance. Most importantly the offered the facts, statistics, and not their opinions, unless asked. They were there to help us make informed decisions.
They would check in weekly after doctor visits and see if there were changes in the plan or physical changes. I had lots of concerns for VBACs, especially around inductions, epidural, and various pain options. I wanted the magical birth you hear about after my c-section, and my husband and I truly felt they were the guides to granting us that. They coached us and checked in way more than we needed, but it felt wonderful.
Two added bonuses; they work as a team, so you truly feel you have two doulas working for you, your body and your baby. You aren’t relying solely on one person to be there. Final icing on the cake- Elizabeth took amazing photography during our birth, and our newborn photography was beautiful. She captured our family in a pure light, and we are so grateful to hang these in our home.
We cannot thank them enough.

We were so lucky to have Vera assist at our birth. She had a steady, supportive manner that was like a ballast during rough seas. Vera was both empathetic with us and very rational, logical and careful in the way that she related to us. I would strongly recommend Vera to anyone who is looking for a capable, thoughtful and caring doula.

Vera and Elizabeth were extremely attentive and open to helping me have the birth experience that I wanted. They took lots of notes, offered lots of suggestions for natural pain management and my expectations, and were completely non-judgmental and only supportive. They showed me positions to help with the pain and how to use the rebozo cloth with my partner.
Of course literally nothing went according to my birth plan and my body had other ideas. I have anxiety and it was very frightening when I felt like I was no longer in control, and Vera and Elizabeth were both very calm and positive and it helped a lot. At a very scary point for me, I felt like I was losing control, but Vera was a very calm presence who calmly helped get the nurses when I was freaking out. She also allowed my partner to get food, and go home and get some rest while I labored, and then got a hold of him again when I needed him while I was otherwise occupied freaking out.
They were ready to help me figure out natural ways to manage the pain, but once all the problems arose, they were also quick to help me manage with the tubes, wires, random alarms and other discomforts, and got me help when I was disoriented. They kept me drinking water and reminded me of what to needed to be doing, including reminding me to breathe when I was unintentionally holding my breath.
They also documented my birth experience very thoroughly, and there were parts that my partner and I had completely forgotten! We are very thankful that we have this record of the birth, as we were lost in the moment, tired a lot, and forgot a lot of parts.
I highly recommend their services!

Wildwood helped with my sister's birth and they were wonderful. I can't believe how Vera was able to stay attentive and supportive all night and the next day and then even into the next night! She's such an incredible resource! We'd recommend Wildwood Birth to anyone expecting a new baby.
Thank you so much for everything you do!!!
