Amy is cheerful, approachable, and down to earth. She took her time getting to know me as a person so she could be the best possible support during labor. Although we did not need a hospital transfer, I feel confident that she would have been a good advocate for me in a hospital setting.

Amy Loomis has been my doula for 3 out of 4 of my births. After a pretty traumatic first labour and delivery, I was needing someone who would walk with me through my next birth. Someone who would lend me their strength and wisdom and faith in the process of birth. And God brought me to Amy. She has been by my side and held my hand through hard and redemptive labours and has rejoiced with me in the triumph of birth! She is wonderful. Amy's knowledge and experience are evident and her presence is comforting and strong. She has brought calmness and prayer with her into all my labours . I cannot recommend Amy enough!

Our experience with Amy Loomis was amazing!  I was on the fence about hiring a Doula but with it being our first I went for it. She was so great with meeting up and flexibility, she gave lots of resource help, and really prepared us for going into labor. Anytime anything came up throughout pregnancy and the beginning of postpartum she was only a text away to help my worried mind. My labor didn't go as "normal" for a ftm and went extremely fast. She was my rock to help me breathe through it and have my baby out efficiently and safely. She helped my husband know other ways to help me pre-baby, during and when baby was here. I can't imagine going through this without her!  She will for sure be my first call if we have another child :).

We began working with Amy later in our pregnancy and it was the best decision we made. We wished we had made it earlier in our pregnancy journey. Her knowledge and vast amount of resources were excellent in helping us make informed decisions with the medical hiccups we experienced along the way and all the unknowns of pregnancy and labor since this was our first pregnancy. She went above and beyond the entire time we worked with her, and even after our baby was here. Her level of support, encouragement, and the amount of care and compassion she provided, to both me and my husband, during labor were amazing. If it weren’t for Amy we both felt the labor process would have been much more difficult and stressful for both of us. Amy’s bedside manner was fantastic, she jumped right in wherever she was needed, without hesitation or judgement. A number of the nurses in the hospital couldn’t say enough good things about Amy and even said she was one of the best doulas they have worked along side with in a long time. Amy truly was a godsend and we are so grateful for her and the work she did with us. We can’t thank her enough.

Amy was such a great doula for me. She helped me to feel confident going into my second water birth. I had prodromal labor for weeks and she was always there rooting me on and encouraging me. Even though I hired her super close to my due date, we were able to establish a good relationship- I attribute that mostly to her warmth and kindness and how easy it is to speak with her. She was good with communication and helped me during my labor and birth. She captured precious photos and videos that I may not have been able to get otherwise. She was such a blessing.

I am so grateful I found Amy and made the decision to ask her if she would be apart of our birth team for my second pregnancy. Amy is so knowledgeable, so encouraging, and truly cares about the women and families she serves in this community. I strongly believe that the months of preparation Amy and I put into preparing for “the big day” made a huge impact on the way my labor and birth went with our son. She came to our house (1/2 hour away) for our 4 prenatal appointments, which made my life with a 1 year old much easier. Amy was always very quick to answer my texts, even before I was in labor. And when I was in labor, she gave me the best advice, and I’m so glad I listened!! Her encouragement to rest, go about our day, and to soak in the moment made early labor very peaceful for us. Active labor was very fast this time, but I never for a moment doubted my ability to birth my baby, because I had people who believed in me! For me, Amy was that person who was always there, from 12 weeks on, telling me I could do it. Her belief in me and in the process, in my body to do its job, helped me to believe in myself. This is truly a gift I wish every woman and family could experience. Thank you Amy!!??

For the birth of our 4th child I wanted to utilize a doula. We found Amy after searching and searching. She had a calm and kind presence even through her website. Once we met I immediately knew she was the one that I wanted to go on this journey with me. She is patient, gentle, warm, and understanding. I was able to come to her with any questions or concerns and she quickly had either answers or suggestions. Even though it was my 4th birthing experience she gave me guidance on how to prepare. She helped me prepare for the birth mentally, physically, and spiritually. Once in labor, I had messaged her in the middle of the night and she responded swiftly which decreased some of my anxiety and made me feel less alone while everyone slept and I labored. Once it was time to head to the birth center she met us there and was waiting with her beautiful calm aura. She jumped into action the moment I walked through the door, providing different techniques to help ease some of the discomfort. She was my brain while I was focused on breathing and remaining at peace. She asked if I wanted to try different laboring positions, was there to support me through difficult contractions, and always left it up to me. She never left my side and advocated for me by speaking up about  interventions we had discussed prior. I truly don’t think I could have had the beautiful birth I had without her. Even in postpartum she has continued to support and care for me. She is an absolute treasure and I can’t recommend her enough. There is not a doubt in my mind that we will use her again in the future.

As a first time mom, I was really nervous and had specific anxieties regarding my pregnancy. I was going to be delivering in a hospital but knew that I wanted to have a natural birth. I was drawn to Amy for her kind, compassionate, prayerful mindset and relationship with Jesus. After my conversations with her I had a lot more peace. Amy educated my husband and I on the labor process (& more) throughout several meetings prior to delivery and was so encouraging. When it came time for delivery she was very helpful both to me and my husband, as he has never gone through this before either. I highly recommend hiring her as your doula, I believe my birth experience was better because of her presence there and the way she prepared both my husband and I.

Amy was truly an essential part of our birth experience and we are so thankful for her.

First and foremost as fellow Christians, we really appreciated the Biblical encouragement and application in our prenatal sessions, labor, birth and postpartum visit.

Especially with my long labor and unplanned transfer from birth center to hospital, Amy was vital is helping us remain calm, educating us and helping us navigate through that difficult time. She also was always willing to be a sounding board and felt more like a friend or family member than a hired part of our birth team. She truly advocated for us in every moment.

Amy is a phenomenal person to have on your personal birth team because she is readily available to help answer questions,  she is never judgemental or demeaning, she is encouraging and uplifting, she is very dedicated and hardworking, and she follows up with you weeks after your birth to continue to make sure you are doing okay.  Even a month after my son was born and I texted her my symptoms and asked about mastitis,  she called me right away and helped me determine what I should do. She is truly a guardian angel, especially for first time moms and dads. My husband and I recommend her services specifically to anyone and everyone. It is so worth it. We consider and view her as part of our family after everything we went through together.

God bless you and your servant heart always,  Amy!

It is hard to put into words how thankful I am that Amy was a part of our family's birth story. Even before our daughter was born Amy provided emotional and educational support. She continously guided me into positions, and found pressure points to relieve my pain through labor. She made the hospital room feel warm, and she was incredibly hands on, which we loved! Even the staff noticed how wonderful Amy was as a doula.

She even stayed with me after our baby was born, ordered me food, and made sure nursing was going well. She continued to stay in touch once I was home to check on us. I'm thankful everyday for Amy, and truly blessed she entered our lives. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her as a doula!

Amy was a blessing to our family.  From our first meeting she was kind, understanding, and answered all of our many questions.  This was my husband and I's first birth experience, and we knew we wanted a physiological, out of hospital birth.  Amy was informative and patient; she took the time to explain the stages of labor and comfort measures that evenutally we would put into practice.  When I went into labor, Amy was the comforting voice that allowed me to relax and focus.  Once we got into the thick of things and the contractions were at their most intense, Amy was there to hold my hand and whisper words of encouragement that helped me find my strength.  Our birth was a dream.  Afterwards, Amy stayed to help my baby latch and made sure I was showered and fed.  We are so grateful for Amy.

Amy was the first doula we met with and knew right away from her warm presence that she was the one we wanted to and felt comfortable working with. After meeting with her a few times leading up to my due date, I felt so educated on what to expect during everything from early labor through postpartum. Amy provided all the information I didn't know I needed as a first-time mom, and was the best encourager and support throughout the entire process. I will be recommending her to every pregnant friend!

We are so thankful Amy was apart of our redemptive birth.  Our first birth was a traumatic one.  In preparation for our second child we knew we wanted to have a doula to help support us during the process.  Amy was the perfect person for this.  She provided space for us to talk about and process our trauma and was able to understand my fears for my upcoming birth.  Amy's ability to empathize, act with intention, and bring positive energy made her the perfect doula for us.  She made us feel comfortable every step of the way and helped us gain the confindence we needed to have the birth we desired.  I would highly recommend Amy to be apart of your birth!

Amy was an essential part of our birth story. She walked with me through my pregnancy and helped me stay positive when there were challenges and she helped me get through each hurdle with confidence. When I went into labor and arrived at the birth center, Amy was not far behind us and as soon as she arrived, she was right there with me the whole time. My midwives were nice and they offered advice as far as position changes and changes from the shower to tub etc, but Amy’s soft encouraging voice helped me mentally through to the end. She held one hand while my husband held the other. My husband raves about her and having a doula in general to every expecting or soon to expect couple we know. He is so grateful that he had her to help him support me as he would have struggled without her to find the words in the moment or to know what to expect. We are both forever grateful for the positive influence she had on us bringing our baby girl into the world.
I’ve read some moms experiences with their doulas not being so available or present when they are needed and I just want every person reading this to know that Amy was there for me whenever I needed her through my pregnancy and labor and she knew just what to say and always had helpful tips that made a difference.
Thank you a hundred times to Amy for helping us achieve a positive childbirth experience. Blessings to all the mamas and daddy’s to be reading this. You are in good hands with this doula collective ??

Amy was amazing to work with from the start and on-going! From our very first conversation via Zoom I felt comforted by her prescense, knowledge, experience and warmth. She seemed to have an intuitive way to answer questions I had before I even asked them. She empowered me throughout my pregancy and birth experience without ever making me feel judged for my decisions-- just empowered to be educated and make my own choices. I could not have had a better labor and delivery experience and I credit that in large part to all of the knowledge & empowerment Amy brought. My husband as well was comforted to know Amy was along for the journey through pregnancy & birth. Since delivering my baby, Amy has been a continued great resource for some post-partem questions and I continue to be so so grateful for her! You are in excellent care should you use Amy as your Doula. She is the main reason I credit to having such a calm, peaceful preganncy journey & delivery as a first time mama.

We were so blessed to have Amy as our doula! We loved the prenatal meetings that prepared us for the birth and also postpartum. We planned on having the birth at a birth center, but due to there being meconium in my amniotic fluid when my water broke, we had to transfer to the hospital, a bug change of plan. I had been planning for an unmedicated water birth and was nervous going to the hospital. It was such a relief when Amy made it to the hospital. To have Amy as a comforting, friendly face and knowing she would stand up for mine and my husband’s wishes if ever necessary, was truly worth every penny and more. I was able to have an unmedicated and positive birth, and Amy definitely played a big part in it!

I have no clue how people birth without a doula. She and my husband were constantly coaching me through contractions, reminding me to focus on my breath instead of the pain (it was annoying to me at the time, but greatly appreciated deep down ??). My husband was able to provide love and history and Amy was able to bring her knowledge and support, truly all important factors in labor and birth.

It was also so helpful to have Amy there shortly after the birth to help with breastfeeding. We truly had such a great experience with Amy and will definitely be working with her with future births :)

Amy was such a phenomenal resource, teacher and advocate that helped bridge the "first time parent" eduation gap throughout pregnancy/ labor for our family. Even from the intial "meet and greet" visit, both my husband and I felt a seamless connection with Amy and the rapport that was built felt very natural. Her knowlegable, yet calm and warm demeaner made us both feel confident that she was going to be a perfect match as our doula.

My husband and I are so thankful for Amy's help in:

Discussing and creating our birth plan for the birth center and/or our birth plan if a c-section or hospital birth were to be necessary; Education on the various stages of labor, labor positioning/ comfort measures, natural pain relief, etc. for both myself and my husband; Breastfeeding education; Herbal education, etc. leading up to birth and postpartum.

With this being my first pregnancy, we wanted to feel as educated and empowered as possible going into labor and Amy helped us feel just that. Amy's support during labor (both via phone while we were still at home) and in person at the birth center were beyond expectations and allowed us to both feel a great deal of autonomy thorughout. Her gentle demeaner brought me such peace and confidence that things were moving in the right direction and her continous encouragement and positional recommendations were invaluable. I can't imagine my birth going as smooth as it did without the help of Amy (and my husband's) support. Our family is forever grateful that we had her as our doula for our first born and can't wait to do it all over again someday with #2!

Thank you for everything Amy, you are such a large piece of our birth story and feel like family!

In my preparation for not only birth as a first time mom but an unmedicated water birth, I read books, took birth courses, listened to podcasts, and watched numerous youtube videos. With all that, I still felt very nervous and unprepared for when the day would actually come. I had heard of doulas before, but never really understood their role in pregnancy and childbirth. Luckily at one of my prenatal appointments, my doctor mentioned having a doula and how beneficial and supportive they are, especially when wanting an unmedicated birth. I then found Amy via a recommendations list provided by my birth center and I couldn't be more grateful that I reached out to her! When meeting with Amy, she made me feel as though I had known her for years and I felt immedialty at ease. I loved how as part of her services, she meets with her moms multiple times to go over everything birth related and even postpartum. After the prenatal visits where she provided my husband and I with so much information, I already felt much more at peace mentally, and I was actually excited for birth! Also, knowing that Amy would be there for me during labor and birth, I wasn't nervous at all anymore because I had full trust in her and knew that she would be the extra support I needed. To no suprise, when the day came, Amy was right there and helped me through the hard 12 hours I labored at the birthing center (after laboring at home for 12 hours already). Providing physical support with counter pressure and helping me into different positions, as well as emotional support, I literally can't imagine not having her help. I am confident my birthing experience would have been 100 times harder if I didn't have her. Although it was hard and at times painful, I still look back on the birth of my daughter as the best day of my life and it is becuase of Amy's support that I can even say that! If in the future I have the opportunity to be pregnant again, I hope to have Amy at my side again!

My experience with Amy Loomis was exactly what I needed to get through my labor and delivery. As my husband and I were reading through the book "Husband Coached Childbirth", we realized we liked the idea of having a natural, vaginal birth, possibly not in a hospital setting if we could avoid it. When we started prenatal care at a birthing center, they recommended that we hire a doula to be our coach through the labor process - that way the midwives could focus on mom and baby's vital signs, etc. I asked around and Amy Loomis was recommended to me, so we interviewed her and from the moment we met her, both of us, my husband especially, felt a sense of calm and peace about having her on our team to be there for us. We didn't really know what to expect. No book or training video can truly prepare you for your first birth, because they are all different. But having a doula can help you through it, and Amy Loomis was truly wonderful. She was calm and helpful. She brought her bag of tricks to help through the various stages of labor - including peppermint oil which was my personal favorite! I loved smelling it to keep me refreshed and I never had to vomit during my labor either. To say the least, she was very prepared, very professional, and so calm and helpful. She gave my husband a break during my long 24-hour labor, so he could step out of the room for a breather without worrying about me - he knew I was in good hands with Amy.

Amy also provided her own education packet, and met with us a couple times before our due date to make sure we had all our questions answered, and generally understood the stages of labor and what to expect. She followed up with me once a week during the last three weeks of my pregnancy to keep in touch and see how I was doing. She had recommendations to help with my swollen feet, and my lower back pain. Then after my baby was born, she did a post-partum visit to see how we were doing and answer more questions.

If you are thinking of hiring a doula-- do it!! If you are thinking of hiring Amy-- do it NOW! Hiring Amy to be our doula was one of the easiest and best decisions we made for our birth. As first time parents we didn't know what to expect and the pregnancy/ birth process was all foreign to us. Our goal was an unmedicated hospital birth with as little interventions as possible and Amy supported our goals and wishes entirely (even when things didn't go as planned). It was an absolute blessing having her during my pregnancy to educate us as well as having her to the talk with about pregnancy symptoms and how to find relief. Her knowledge is absolutely invaluable and she is just the sweetest and kindest person ever. She made my birth experience a very positive one as I always felt confident because she was there with us! My labor ended up being very LONG and Amy stayed the entire time (without hesitation), she supported not only me but my husband as well. She never overstepped her boundary (my husband was worried he would be "replaced"). Having Amy to navigate those early postpartum days (mama healing, and breastfeeding) was amazing and completely necessary for me. We will definitely be reaching out to Amy when it comes time for baby number 2!

We were blessed to have Amy attend my birth and provide pre- and postnatal care. It is very obvious Amy has a calling to assist women in bringing their children into this world. During our prenatal visits, Amy connected with both myself and my husband. We quickly grew to love her. Amy sought to understand where we were in the education journey of labor, delivery, and life with a newborn and provided us valuable information. My baby is now 5 months old and I still often reflect on things Amy told us. Amy was available and responsive anytime I needed and answered every single question we had, soothing our concerns.

Amy helped me make decisions about my prenatal care with healthcare professionals in a respectful, caring way. When I went into labor she met us at our birthing location and was there to help walk me in. She immediately started comfort measures. Amy did whatever was needed during the 7 hours of labor we spent together. She helped me in and out of the shower, cleaning myself, hip squeezes in the shower, bath, or bed, she had peppermint oil for when I had nausea, she helped keep me hydrated and fed as best she could. She collaborated with my husband and the health care providers and helped explain things to me. She gave me encouragement. She let me squeeze her hand so hard! Amy took beautiful once in a lifetime tasteful photos during the experience I will treasure forever.

Post birth Amy stuck around to make sure we were all okay and gave tips about breastfeeding which helped me in my determination to breastfeed. Postpartum Amy checked in as appropriate, not too much and enough.

Our birth experience would not have physically or emotionally felt the same without Amy. She is a gem, I highly recommend her to anyone needing a doula that shares her values. If we are blessed enough to have additional children I would be honored and lucky to have Amy attend additional births.

Amy is absolutely amazing. I connected with her through a referral from another doula who did not have room for me in her schedule. Amy took me on as a client even though I was 30+ weeks pregnant at the time. She was always available when I needed her. She was incredibly knowledgeable and extremely supportive through everything. She gave me information and courage to advocate for myself. She showed up for me with confidence and enthusiasm when I didn't have the complete support of those around me that I so desperately needed in order to have the birth experience that I wanted. She offered positioning instructions to the nurses when I got stuck at 7.5cm and cheered me on for almost 12 hours. She stayed with me for awhile afterwards and helped me with breastfeeding. Once I was home, she checked in on me twice before my postpartum visit. Even after that, she has continued to be available to me for my rants and questions about breastfeeding. No words can truly describe how much she helped me, both informational and emotionally. While I had another human being growing inside me, I had never felt more alone. Until I met Amy. She is one of the most caring and genuine people I have ever met in my life. I could not have done it without her.

We are so very grateful that the lord brought Amy into our lives as we prepared for the birth of baby #5! We were looking for someone natural minded to help with our homebirth. From the first day I met and chatted with Amy I knew she was a perfect fit for us! I am thankful for her kind, calm, and encouraging mindset. She kept in constant contact always with positive and helpful words. Amy is very knowledgeable with oils, tinctures, and herbs as well which I found very helpful for my labor and delivery. Having Amy as a part of our amazing homebirth was so special and I will forever be grateful to her.

We are so grateful we chose Amy to be our doula for the birth of our daughter! She was excellent in all the care, encouragement, dedication and knowledge that she provided us with during my pregnancy and labor/delivery. The most important qualities that we looked for in a doula were that she had children of her own, was natural minded in labor and birth, compassionate to parents who had gone through loss (as this was our first pregnancy after miscarriages), was faith-based and respected our faith, and came from a medical background. She really hit all of our points, and we knew that she would be an excellent part of our birth team when my husband and I met her at our initial consultation! During a whirlwind of a pregnancy, Amy was a constant source of encouragement and support. During labor, she worked tirelessly supporting and encouraging me throughout labor. She respected my husband's role during labor and encouraged him in his role as my number one support in labor. I loved that she encouraged me through contractions with faith-based affirmations. We are very grateful for the outstanding care, encouragement and support that Amy gave us during our pregnancy, labor and birth!

Amy was the perfect doula match for my first natural childbirth. At our initial meeting, I was comforted by her calm demenior and wealth of knowledge and experience. I appreciated her check in text messages and words of encouragement leading up to the birth. During my labor and delivery she was SO helpful suggesting positions and telling me just what I needed to hear to bring my baby earthside. Amy is such a blessing and played a huge role making my natural childbirth experience everything that I hoped it would be.

Amy was such a wonderful and strengthening presence during the birth of my son. She stayed with us through a particularly difficult delivery and was always there when I needed encouragement, prayer or just a hand to squeeze as hard as I could. Amy is very knowledgeable and experienced and it showed in the gentle, reassuring companionship she brought into the labor and delivery room.
From the start of our experience with Amy, she was easy to talk to and communicate with. She always made my husband and I feel that she was on our team and would work to help us achieve the birth we wanted.

We 100 percent recommend Amy for any woman looking for a doula! You will not be disappointed!

We were looking for a doula to assist with my second delivery, a VBAC. I had not labored with my first, so I definitely wanted additional support to get through the experience. After interviewing multiple doulas, we went with Amy because of her positive attitude and warm nature. She seemed like a great partner to go through this journey with.

After securing Amy's services the world went a bit haywire as COVID-19 spread as a global pandemic. Amy was so flexible offering different ways to help and support us. She did video calls for my prenatal appointments and provided a lot of great information in those 2 calls. My baby was breech for many weeks, and she offered great support as I texted or called her after all my ultrasounds. She researched and provided many ideas and things to try to help encourage my baby to turn and celebrated with me when he did.

When it came time for me to deliver, unfortunately she was not allowed to come to the hospital due to the pandemic. Again, she was there to support us however she could. She offered to come to our house while I labored since she would not be able to be with us at the hospital. She was available via text, phone, and video call for both myself and my husband throughout the time before my baby was born, and when it came down to the tough decision to proceed with a c section she was a great support when I called her and we spoke about everything that was leading to that need. Her warmth and support meant the world in that hard time.

She continued to be available through any virtual means we needed as we recovered in the hospital and it was great to see her for a postpartum visit and talk about all the tips and tricks of newborns and nursing that I had forgotten since my first.

I would highly recommend Amy. Her kind nature and warm spirit makes her a great fit for work as a doula. If we were ever going to have another baby we would definitely work with her again.

Hiring Amy as our doula was THE BEST DECISION we could have made for ourselves and our new baby boy. Before we got pregnant, I didn't know much about doulas, but a good friend recommended hiring one for the birth of our son.

Without a doubt, having Amy at our side during the entire journey of pregnancy and birth was priceless. Not only did she calm our fears, she also educated us, helped us prepare a birth plan and was always available when I had concerns or questions. I felt so fortunate I could just text or pick up the phone to get help when needed. She opened our eyes to birth options we didn't know were available. She was able to calmly communicate with our doctors and nurses during delivery, be our advocate & speak in ways we could understand. Looking back, I can absolutely see how our hospital birth could have gone a different way if Amy hadn't been there with us to keep us on track with our birth plan. She spoke up to hospital staff on our behalf when they wanted to try things other ways.

After we got home from the hospital, Amy came to our home and we were able to talk though and revisit the birth of our son since he needed to be in the NICU for 2 days. It was so helpful to be able to process it all again and get some closure. She even helped me get some additional chores out of the way, reassured us through additional questions we had and helped us give our boy a bath.

I would hire Amy again in a heartbeat!

Words can not express how grateful we were to have Amy during our pregnancy. She is very knowledgeable and was always available when I needed advice, had questions or concerns. We wanted a natural delivery and with the different techniques, positions and encouragement she gave we were able to achieve that. If we decided to have another baby we would definitely choose to have Amy there again!

From well before our birth to well afterwards, Amy was the perfect match for us as our doula. Before the birth, she called every one of my fears, helped educate me and teach me about natural birth practices of which I was unaware and never once rebuffed any of my more emotional pre-birth moments.

When I finally went into labor Amy was there from the very start. She helped coach me through the uncertain start all the way to the birth center. During my labor I couldn't have asked for a more kind, sincere and calming presence. She was encouraging, steady and supportive. She knew exactly what I was and never wavered in her support of the birth she knew we wanted.

After we went home, she came to the house, brought a hot meal, cleaned, did my laundry and sat and talked with me. She offered a nap but I was happy to just be. She is the consummate professional in addition to being kind, caring and knowledgeable. I can't wait to have her support us again during our next birth!

highly recommend!
