We contracted with Jamie Lamb for placenta encapsulation after our daughter's birth. She was professional and prompt with pick up and delievery and so very kind. We highly recommend her services!

Jamie is like having the coach by your side all season and at the championship game - even though this wasn't my first pregnancy and birth, this time felt completely supported and personal. She met with me, my partner, and my tween kiddo who wanted to attend the birth, checked in with us on our midwife appointments, lent us books, and gave personalized suggestions (like what supplies I should have for postpartum) that went much farther than a Pinterest pin or even the childbirth course we took.

For the birth itself, Jamie brought a calm, confident presence to our homebirth, moving gracefully among my surges, recommendations for my partner to support me and him, and served as a connection for my kiddo.

Probably most importantly for me, she made me feel like the only person in the world when she was with us, whether on Zoom, texting, or in person for the birth. I wasn't a bother, or an inconvenience, or taking too long, or being too loud. Jamie accepted everything just as it was, and I believe that underlying feeling (along with a great midwife and the hypnobabies program) is why my birthing time was 1/4 of the time of my first, unmedicated, with a fast recovery. If you want a safe, empowered birth on your terms with skilled, caring people around you, Jamie needs to be in that circle.

Jamie will forever be a highlight in our son’s birth story, each time we tell the story she is mentioned by name because of her pivotal role. Jamie meets you where you are and gives the non-judgmental support that you would hope to receive from your closest friend.

As a first time mom, a doula as part of our birth team was a thought I had early in my pregnancy. That thought was soon replaced by COVID19 and along with it many restrictions. Thankfully, restrictions eased up and I circled back to exploring the support of a doula for my hospital birth a few months before my due date.
My husband was very leery of the idea of a doula, he could not understand why I wanted a non-hospital staff stranger to share such an intimate moment with our family. However, the evidence-based information and my desire won him over to join me in interviewing doulas. Jamie disarmed him with her first question and explaining her role of support to both of us and that she would not be taking his place or "kicking him out of the room" (a fear he had after other interviews). She continued to support both of us through meetings and communication prior to the start of labor. Her ability to listen, provide evidence-based information, and allow us to come to our own decisions was priceless.

We both look back on birth of our son as the most significant and precious event in our life and are so appreciative Jamie was part of our team. She coached me through the early start of labor when I didn’t want to tell my husband so he could sleep and coached him the next morning so he in turn could coach me. She gave him peace of mind when he started to worry during labor and helped him to stay grounded. Her post-partum care was so valuable to both of us and provided us with peace that is hard to find when you are sleep deprived with a newborn.

Jamie will be one of the first people we tell the next time we are pregnant because she is now synonymous with birth.

Jamie made our birth experience possible and she was the bright spot in a tough labor, other than the baby of course. I do not think I could have gotten through my labor and delivery without her there. She was with us for nearly the whole labor after we called her thinking that baby was coming soon but he didn't make an appearance for another 24 hours. Jamie helped with both the physical and mental apsects of a long, unmedicated labor for first time parents and though it was no cake walk she made it better. She also provided excellent trauma-informed care and helped us process through the birth afterwards.

Jamie encouraged us to research our options so we were informed about what was going on and she provided a calming presence for us while we faced all of the uncertainties that carrying and pushing a whole human out into the world entails. She provided experience and a sounding board for us while we made choices in this experience and they were truly our choices, she remained an unbiased opinion.

We 100% recommend her services and honestly can't think of another labor without doula support there. If you are undecided just take the plunge and get that support, you will not regret it. Our only regret is that we did not meet her earlier in the pregnancy. Jamie, you are awesome!

Both my husband and I are so thankful to have had Jamie as our doula for the birth of our daughter. She is extremely knowledgeable, professional, personable, patient, kind, and she was a tremendous help to my husband and I before, during, and after the birth. When we were considering hiring a doula, I knew that I wanted someone who would help me to understand what was going on and to feel empowered to make good decisions about the birth process. I wanted a birth experience my husband and I could look back on with joy. Jamie helped us to ask the right questions and to make sure that we knew what was going on at each point in the labor process. My pregnancy and labor looked different than I had imagined due to Coronavirus and a provider who was not like-minded, but Jamie supported us through many changes with grace and encouragement. We highly recommend her!

Immediately upon meeting Jamie I knew that she was the doula for us. Patient, kind, knowledgeable, and NOT at all pushy. I instantly felt more confident and relaxed about the birth process. We had a few meetings with Jamie in person, and then a few via zoom once the COVID pandemic started. Unfortunately our hospital did not allow her to come to the hospital with us because of the pandemic but even so she remained a valuable virtual resource for us. We were able to use many of the techniques she taught us during the labor and it made us feel more in control. She's checked in post partum and even answered my middle of the night questions. If we have another baby (hopefully not during a pandemic) we will for sure be reaching out to Jamie again!

Hiring Jamie was the most important decision I made during my third and final pregnancy. I knew that while homebirth with my second was what I wanted, it was not an option for my third. I had a traumatic hospital birth with my first and I knew I wanted backup for any bullying from physicians I may have faced while trying my second vbac. Jamie was a constant source of support via text from the time I hired her. Our first face to face talk, I just knew that she was perfect for our family. As labor approached Jamie was right here beside me as I labored on and off for three days she made sure she was readily available and helped me with many comfort measures and baby positioning moves. When we got to the hospital she helped me stick to my birth plan even when the physician tried to change my mind. Honestly, without Jamie's support and love throughout labor and during my postpartum hemmorhage, I don't think I would be able to look back at this birthday without it being a traumatic experience. Jamie, you absolutely rock and I'm so glad to have you in my life as a doula and now a friend!

I cannot say enough good things about Jamie and the services she provided for us as first time parents! She has so much knowledge, but also passion when it comes to birth, babies and mommas. From our first sit down consultation, to all of our meetings, to the birth, and even after during those first few weeks post partum, I always felt like I was safe, heard and cared about. She always put both myself and my husband’s mind at ease and was always a quick text away if we had a concern or question. During labor she was the biggest support and the best decision we could have made to bring our daughter into the world. We can’t thank Jamie enough for going through our pregnancy journey with us and making it such a special, amazing experience.
