Volunteer doula for Giving Austin Labor Support (GALS)
We loved having Kristyn as a part of our birth experience! She was so down to earth - I couldn't have asked for a better match! I felt comforatble with her instantly! Kristyn made sure to understand my expectations leading up to the birth and was available for any questions or concerns I had. Day of - she was present without being too overbearing. She asked a lot of questions, made sure I was as comfortable as possible and I felt totally supported! After our birth she made herself available for follow up visits and was, in general, a great person to have around for conversation and to make me feel a little more sane in the midst of a crazy transition! THANK YOU! We are so grateful!
I can't imagine how my experience would of been without Kristyn. She knew the in and out of how to make my pain more bearable by accommodating me and being so reassuring. I am very fortunate to has have her apart of my journey. There was a point where I was having a real hard time with the traditional position of being on my back when the time came closer to the delivery. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't have thought up a different approach to the delivery. She was the backbone when I couldn’t think for myself and helped me follow through the plan. If you have the chance to have her as your doula, take it. She is an godsend!
Looking for the perfect Doula that is everything and more? Get you Kristyn. She is gentle and readily explains technical birth and pregnancy terms in the simplest ways possible. Pre-birth, she was very forthcoming with ways to educate myself and prep for the d-day. She gave me not only resources but also loaned me a birth ball till I gave birth. She helped me understand what to expect being that I had mot experienced contractions prior to getting 4cm dilated, suggested ways my husband could help and even showed him. She was open to understanding what I wanted and during labor she got me a heat pack every time I needed it and generally was after my comfort during contractions. Looking into her eyes got me going during those intense moments. Also, she really went above and beyond helping my family to make special memories that we could keep post-birth.
She is very efficient with relieving the pains of contractions...her hip squeezes got me through. She is efficient in communication and she is very experienced at what she does. My family appreciates her being there through this journey.
Kristyn is always very kind. She has been great at keeping in contact with me durning my pregnancey and during my postpartum period. Kristyn is a great doula. She is very perfetiinal and educated. She fit right into my birth team. Kristen was what I needed durning my home water birth. She was asurtive, she incuraged me durning contractions and when I was in transition she was soft spoken which was nice. I would definitely recommend Kristyn to anyone who is looking for a Doula.
Kristyn was exactly what we needed. She was kind, patient, and a great advocate for me when needed during my labor. She helped me feel so much better as this was my first time being pregnant. We met before hand to get to know eachother and kept in contact before and after delivery. She didnt feel like a random stranger when it was time for a vulnerable moment.
Complications required me to be induced. Kristyn kept contact with me to find out when it would be best for her to come to the hospital. When I felt was going to be best time for her to support me.
As first time parents we didnt know what to expect or what to ask while at the hospital. I personally deal with anxiety and depression and I was so scared. We had so many concerns about the pregnancy let alone the labor and delivery. She helped with all of it.
She explained what an induction includes and what we could expect. She helped explain our options. While in labor she was there recommending ways to relieve the pain incorporating acupressure with the inclusion of my husband and coaching him when needed. She went to get heat packs, drinks, and any other items allowing my husband to stay by my side.
Prior to my delivery I spoke to her about options for my placenta. I decided to go with encapsulation but I had to get it to the processing company. Kristyn didnt have to but she helped me get my placenta delivered to the company. It was a great help. It was one less worry and my husband didnt have to leave me and our newborn.
She provided the support we needed. Im sure she would do the same for you.
