Working with Ari was like working with an old friend. We loved having her as a part of our birth story. She’s generous and caring and we can’t speak highly enough of her!
We have no family in the city so we were looking for someone who could be a support for both me and my husband, someone to be sort of another family member and guide us through this life changing moment. Ari was exactly that. She helped me listen to my body, kept us confident, energy high and positive even though I had an unplanned induction. Medical interventions can be scary but due to our prenatal visits I felt confident when the time came. We talked about pros and cons of everything and she gave us articles to read so I went into the birth feeling prepared for anything without being overwhelmed. Additionally, she was invaluable by giving my husband confidence to help support me in the moment. She made sure he was a part of everything.
The hospital staff also loved working with her. Our doctor even suggested we name our new daughter Ari or Lavender, after the calming room spray she used. She has a loving, positive demeanor while still being assertive to make sure I had everything I needed.
We had such a good time together. Our birth was fun! Odd word to describe labor but yes, it was fun because Ari kept both my husband and I stress free so we could be ourselves and focus on what we were doing there, bringing our new baby into the world!
Postpartum, she’s been a huge help. She’s continuously checking in and coming by even if it’s just to hold the baby while I take a shower or make sure I have something to eat and drink. I had been wanting to go out for lunch by myself with my daughter but was nervous because as a new mom with a new baby, anything could happen! Ari came to lunch with me to help me overcome my anxiety.
She’s been a total support and we’ve kept in touch because she’s so awesome.

The word Doula means in Greek “a women that serves”.

And this was definitely true with Ari !

My wife’s labor experience was just about 2 days long. You can imagine how a women would feel physically and emotionally. Her labor was HARD. Our birth plan was totally different from when it started. But with Ari support she made the experience positive and uplifting. I’ll go as far as to say I don’t think we could have survived with out her. She was  key to our success. She stepped in when I couldn’t. She gave continuous support in the aspect of labor. She helped with techniques and different positions. But most important she helped with support. I would give Ari my stamp of recommendation to anyone that is seeking knowledge and support during their pregnancy
