Post a testimonial for Kinsey Drea

Kinsey is an amazing doula! I hired her for the birth of my third baby boy. I wanted to go for a homebirth this time and I knew I would need extra labor support. She got to my house super quickly, as soon as I said I needed her. She showed my husband how to give counter pressure and she encouraged me into different positions to help engage baby. She was so positive and encouraging the entire time which really helped me in the pushing phase. She followed my lead so we were laughing and joking in between contractions but when I needed rest in between contractions we just sat silently resting. On top of all of that she checked on how I was feeling throughout the entire pregnancy and gave me suggestions on how to help my symptoms! She offered nutritional guidance to help prevent preeclampsia and gestational diabetes and she sent me information on spinning babies positions to try when baby boy was posterior! Hiring Kinsey made a huge difference for me and I attribute having a successful homebirth to her support! She made sure I had all of the evidence based information to make informed decisions and then advocated for those decisions. She made sure I got the peaceful birth environment I wanted! Having her there also let my husband be the birth partner I needed! At some points they were both giving me counter pressure / massaging my back and at some points she was doing the pressure while I was just leaning on my husband for support. And when my midwife needed Adam to help with setting everything up, I still had support with Kinsey! I strongly recommend hiring Kinsey and I will definitely be hiring her again if we decide to go for a fourth!

During my consultation with Kinsey, I shared pain from ivf, pregnancy loss, and hyperemesis gravitarium. My wife and I really felt like she listened and we both felt heard. That’s how I knew she was our doula.
Kinsey checked in on me often during my pregnancy. I was able to share some fears that came up after appointments with her. She encouraged me to use relaxation techniques I was studying in my hypnobabies class (Kinsey is familiar with lots of birth classes/ birthing techniques such as Lamaze, hypnobabies, and Bradley). I am so grateful that continued to actively listen, validate my feelings, and encourage me through them during my pregnancy, just as she did in our consultation. The pregnancy support she provided alone was worth it.
We were able to switch to a midwife that supported home birth after I weened off my nausea medication pump and passing my gd test! I ended up texting Kinsey at 40 weeks 6 days that contractions started suddenly and were 5-7 min apart an hour after the first contraction. I let her know I was ready for her support shortly after. She entered our birth space seamlessly. She let me move intuitively and offered support as I moved through contractions. When I felt like it was time to get in the birth pool, I walked into the living room and there were candles everywhere! Kinsey helped set up a beautiful birth space! 6 1/2 hours after my first contraction we welcomed a baby girl!
My wife was initially concerned that a doula would take her place in birth. However, Kinsey helped my wife support me! In our postpartum visit Kinsey complimented us on our team work in pregnancy and birth. I’m forever grateful for her support of both me and my wife in pregnancy and birth!

Kinsey was vital to our birth experience in more ways than we could have foreseen. She was an asset from the first meeting when she offered tips and techniques to complement our birth plan, all while being supportive of our wishes. She was an advocate for us in the hospital helping to support our wish to have a natural labor in a hospital setting. Her experience proved to be essential as she monitored my labors progression all while staying in sync to my mental state offering encouragement to refocus and redirect. Kinsey has a gift for supporting laboring mothers and we will not hesitate to use her again for baby #3.

Hiring Kinsey Drea was one of the best decisions I made when pregnant with our little girl.
Throughout the pregnancy I knew I could text her and ask for reassurance, opinions, advice, or even just to talk about exciting milestones! She wanted updates after my appointments and really showed care and concern constantly. She even helped me come up with a birth plan that I was comfortable with, telling me about options I didn't even know were available!
When I texted Kinsey at 11:00 at night that my water had broken, she left to meet me immediately so she could be by my side. She held my hand, massaged me, rubbed my back, applied counter pressure, helped me to the bathroom and helped teach me to breathe through contractions. She taught my husband how to help me. she was my advocate for what i wanted and needed from the hospital. I had put in my birth plan that I would get an epidural if I needed it. When the time came that I felt I needed it, she was right there to support my decision and remind me that I'm strong and amazing and a warrior no matter what.
When it came time, Kinsey held my leg up for 2 hours while I pushed. She counted for me, cheered me on, and pushed me to keep going when I felt like all my energy was gone. When my babys heart rate dropped and I was on the verge of an anxiety attack, she was there to tell me it was all going to be okay. In the end, our girl came out sunny side up and tilted sideways, causing tearing and prolonged bleeding. While everyone else rushed to see the new baby, she stayed and held my hand as they worked on me. When I needed someone, she was there. Every. Single.Time.
I'd recommend Kinsey Drea to anyone. She's everything you could ever ask for in a doula.

Kinsey was there for the birth of my second daughter Alice, as my best friend and as the god mother of the precious girl we were welcoming into the world that day.
As a mom who had already gone through the EASIEST birth for my first daughter, I didn't think I would need any support (bsides my husband) for my second but boy was I wrong. Kinsey hadn't even gone through doula training and was by far the most supportive person in the room. Kinsey not only supported me in making sure I was comfortable for my almost 12 hour birthing journey but she was supportive of my husband and mom- acting as the perfect buffer for my needs and thiers.
If you're even considering having someone there to support you for one of the most memorable days of your life- Kinsey is your person. She was a rockstar of a support person for me on the day of Alice's birth without her doula training and now, I can't imagine how lucky I would be to have her there for support with her training!
