Caitlin Davis helped me to achieve the natural childbirth I had envisioned. From our prenatal appointments through labor and our postpartum appointment, she supported me in my choices. Caitlin provided resources and advice when my baby turned breech that helped her to turn back to the right position. She supported me with tips on helping to induce labor naturally as well as encouragement that first-time moms typically deliver late when I experienced frustration and pressure to medically induce sooner than I wanted when I passed my due date. My husband was deployed for our baby's birth, so Caitlin was a crucial part of my labor support team along with my mother. I had back labor, and Caitlin was right there during every contraction to massage my lower back and hips to counteract the pain. She encouraged me to continue my deep breathing as my labor got more intense, and it became more difficult for me to stay relaxed. Her advice to eat often early in labor sustained my energy all the way through the pushing phase. Caitlin made sure I stayed hydrated as well for what is arguably one of the greatest sporting events of a woman's life. When I experienced doubt that I could continue my labor without an epidural, she calmly encouraged me in my ability to do so. Caitlin stayed right by my side during my labor and after the delivery of my baby. She was a constant source of physical and emotional support. Giving birth naturally was an empowering experience for me, and I am grateful to Caitlin for guiding me to find my inner strength as a mother.
Caitlin was such a blessing to have as part of my birth team!! She helped me have peace of mind by answering all my questions the last few weeks of pregnancy, was patient and reassuring during a couple false alarms, and extremely supportive to me and my husband when it was finally time for the real deal. The prenatal support she offered by making sure I was informed of all my options while creating my birth plan laid the foundation for a positive birth experience. During my labor, her calm voice and gentle touch helped me stay focused during some of the more painful moments- which helped me stay dedicated to my decision to have an unmedicated birth. Towards the very end, during a point that I was not in a state where I could defend my choices, Caitlin offered reassurance and support to my husband when one of our nurses pressured him to authorize treatment we did not want. He says that Caitlin’s presence was a huge part of how he was able to stay calm and collected for me. She had the perfect balance of professional and relatable. She was completely respectful of all of our birth plan choices while offering just the right amount of insight when we asked for it. Again, it was such a blessing to have her be part of the birth of our daughter! I would recommend her a hundred times over!!!
Caitlin was an amazing help during my birth and helped keep me in a relaxed state. She assisted me with relaxation through light touching and pressure, and she reassured me after contractions. After about 20 hours of labor, she was a huge help for my husband as well since she was able to stay with me while he ate and kept hydrated and energized enough to get through the night. She graciously stayed by my side through labor and delivery and for a couple hours after giving birth. We loved her calming presence and her spirit of service as she made sure my husband and I had everything we needed.
