I had several in-person meetings with Taylor prior to the birth of my daughter. I had a "less is more" attitude when it came to the birth process and did not fully understand what I was in for. Taylor met me right where I was and helped me to think about the birthing process positively. Taylor taught me several birthing positions that I used and made for a more effective vaginal labor. Taylor coached me on several yoga and stretching positions which helped get my baby in the perfect position for birth.  Taylor helped me to prepare mentally for the birth and even more importantly for what I should expect post-partum. A week prior to my birth, Taylor provided a portfolio of documents that she spent two hours of her time on a Friday night reviewing with me to make sure I was prepared. The handouts were extremely helpful and we brought them to the hospital with us on the day of the birth. Taylor's work did not stop at the birth, she continues to coach me during post-partum on the recovery process and made sure that my physical and mental well-being was always a part of the equation. I could not recommend Taylor enough as a doula. She takes the time to not only listen to your questions and concerns but makes you feel re-assured that you are making the right choices for you and your baby. Any mother would be lucky to have Taylor in preparing for birth, in the delivery room and for all things post-partum. Thank you Taylor!

Taylor was my labor doula for the birth of my first baby, and I am forever grateful for all her support during that time. Even when we first met during our interview, I went home with confidence that she can best support me during the most important time in my life. Our prenatal visit consisted of physically & emotionally preparing for my labor and discussing my birth expectations, and Taylor gave me some handouts with comfort measures I can practice with my husband. The beginning of my labor wasn't what I had imagined at all, but that's not such a surprise since birth is so unpredictable, and Taylor had joined us in the hospital soon after we called her. Her encouraging words & comfort measures during contractions and pushing were so valuable. At the toughest part of labor just when I thought my strength and confidence had given out, and when a cesarean section was suggested if I don't succeed in pushing my baby out, I remember looking at Taylor and saying, "We're gonna do this." And we did just that. My girl was born by vaginal delivery after an arduous labor that was worth every second. Our postpartum visit one week later was so helpful because revisiting my labor allowed me to fill in all the gaps I didn't remember and also come to peace with my baby's birth. I truly appreciate all the doula support I received before, during and after my birth.

I had three virtual pre-natal meetings with Taylor, given our distance we could only talk over the phone and FaceTime. In each of these meetings, Taylor was extremely prepared and helped me and my partner prepare in a tremendous way. This was for my first child, so the most challenging part for me was that I didn't even know what questions I had! Taylor facilitated the conversations so that she got to the root of what my questions were and then answered them with a clear and action focused response. We discussed the various stages of labor and how to manage them. We also discussed the birthing process and Taylor helped my partner and I feel ready to make the best decisions for us and our baby. I never felt like Taylor was giving us a "cookie cutter" response, as she listened very carefully to what I had to say and tailored her responses to me and my situation. Taylor followed up with reading material and support for her responses as well. All in all, I look back and can honestly say that I don't know what I would have done without Taylor! She helped my partner and I prepare and think about crucial steps of the process, and make informed decisions that we may not have otherwise thought about - she emphasized the importance of the health and happiness of myself as the mother, of my partner, and of course, of the baby.
